Herbert Taylor considers himself a “jack of all trades.” The 60-year-old recently returned to the Daily Corinthian for a third tour of duty as custodian, a parttime position which means he may be cleaning, repairing or just being around newspaper employees. It was a full-time position for Taylor for many years. He is retired from the Corinth Street and Sanitation Department after 31 years of service, including many years as supervisor. Taylor remains single after his wife, Beverly, died three years ago. His daughter Lauren is an Ole Miss graduate and attends medical school in Atlanta, while son Herbert, III works at Corinthian Furniture. His hobby is working on old car and truck engines. “I like to tinker a little bit,” he said.
