Tourism office hires research consultant BY JEBB JOHNSTON jjohnston@dailycorinthian.com
The tourism office is ready to find out exactly who’s coming to Corinth and identify opportunities to lure more people to the Crossroads. Hospital employees select shelter as charity of year BY ZACK STEEN zsteen@dailycorinthian.com
Already in the business of giving, employees with the local hospital plan to give even more in 2017. Magnolia Regional Health Center employees chose the Corinth-Alcorn Animal Shelter as their local charity of the year earlier this month. The MRHC Giving Commit-

The amount of our employees
who want to help the shelter is amazing and we’re looking forward to helping in any way we can this year.” Each December the Giving Committee hosts a Charity Fair where hospital employees get to learn more about the many local charities in the Crossroads area. A Minister of Music and a Deacon at Crossroads Baptist Church, alongside Bro. Warren Jones, Melvin shares his love for God, family and Mississippi State. He also serves as the Chaplain for Biggersville Fire and Rescue. “God’s got me where he wants me,” said the 1968 Indianola High School graduate. “Hopefully, he will continue to use me in my ministry.” Married to his wife, Gay, for 44 years now, the avid State fan is the father of Shane and Gayla Steed and Jonathan and Ashley Rider. The couple also has six grandchildren.
