Laughter and joyful tears filled the Labor and Delivery ward at Magnolia Regional Health Center as a bouncing baby girl made her debut into the world. Weighing in at a healthy 8 pounds, 7 ounces and measuring 20 and a half inches in length, Hazlee Mae Smith was a surprise to her thankful parents who never expected to have a New Year baby. The third daughter of Heather and Jody Smith and granddaughter of Annette Austin Smith and Gary and Tammy McVey, little Hazlee makes three girls for the excited parents of 12-month-old Emery and 9-year-old Addi. “Her birth was a big surprise to us because she wasn’t actually due for another 2 weeks,” said a glowing Heather Smith as she described the events leading up to her daughters arrival. “I woke up about 4 a.m. in a lot of pain and knew that something was different. I had no sooner arrived at the hospital when they confirmed I was White #0023 indeed in labor.” $ 00
