Kimberley's Top Fall Looks

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR MOST USED FALL PIECES? A: Denim jacket, boots, & oversized knits. Q:WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FALL TREND THIS SEASON? A: I love 90’s style jeans. Pairing a high-waisted and relaxed pair of jeans with a slightly cropped knit. alongside a pair of sneakers is the perfect effortless outfit for everyday. It is nice to see an alternative to skinny jeans after so many seasons of same-same.

Q:WHAT ARE THREE WARDROBE STAPLES FOR YOU? A: A crossbody bag, a leather jacket, and a good pair of heels. Q: WHO IS YOUR CELEBRITY STYLE ICON? A: I love Mary Kate Olsen’s quirky, vintage-meets-designer style. I also admire the style of Kate Bosworth, Solange, Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss….the list could go on and on. Q:WHAT ARE THREE WARDROBE STAPLES FOR YOU? A: Self tanner, hair serum, & mascara.

BLOGGER ADVICE Q: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE PEOPLE TRYING TO GROW OR START THEIR BLOG? A: Just start! I held off for a long time because I wanted everything to be perfect first. What I’ve learned is nothing is perfect and you never arrive in a place where suddenly you are ready. You just have to start where you are with what you have and the rest will follow. Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A FASHION BLOGGER/STYLIST? A: My favorite thing about styling and blogging is the creative freedom involved in the job. Playing with clothing has been my passion my entire life and being able to express myself through fashion and help others achieve confidence through style is incredibly fulfilling for me.

How To Take More Style Risks Here are some simple ways to dig yourself out of the safe style gutter and start taking more risks to bring yourself closer to projecting the true, creative you. The 7 Day Challenge This is a fun, albeit, scary adventure to walk into, but it will shake up your style instantly. For 7 days wear 1 item which you are a little afraid of. This might be a huge ring, a head scarf, a tulle skirt, a crop top whatever you can discover hiding in your wardrobe which scares you and put that item into action. There is something about being on a conscious "challenge" that will armor you with confidence. 7 days, 7 wild items. You got this. Let Someone Else Dress You This is a biggie because you are literally handing over the reins to someone else, but this is why it is so important . True freedom comes from giving zero “F’s” and you will be forced into this mentality when someone else is in the driver’s seat. Whatever this person, whether partner, sister, friend or even you child, selects, you must wear for a full day. See how it feels to be someone else. Feel the sweet liberation in disassociation with your safe image. Pick A Character We usually shop for ourselves, as we are, or our goal-self, but rarely do we shop with a character in mind. Picture someone you admire, someone who inspires you with their sense of self, their style and their vibe, and pretend to be this person. Dress as they would. Think as they would. Behave as they would. What is fashion if not character play? Practicing this concept does not mean you lose your sense of style or self, but rather brings you closer towards these things by allowing you to explore the character traits you look up to and admire. Go Makeup Free, Shoeless, "Inappropriate" and Carefree Commit to a day and mark it in your calendar under "giving zero ‘F's’" in which you don't do a single thing you usually do when leaving the house. Drop that mask. Get up, don't touch your hair, don't touch your face, even leave your shoes behind if you like. You might feel naked, embarrassed, weird, or out of character, but you will be forced to embrace yourself exactly as you are. Intentionally go somewhere that you are likely to bump into someone you know, whether this leaves you red faced or not, you will have nowhere to hide and you will realize the world won't cave in. You are perfect just as you are. The fashion and style you express every day should be fun, it should not be a mask to hide behind. Wild cards make the world go around, we don't need more of the same, we need more quirk and crazy out there. Now go get your risk on! WWW.SOCIALMEDIAMARKETING.COM

5 Best Moments from NYFW 2018 #1

The Calvin Klein Popcorn Runway Raf Simmons had 55,000 gallons of popcorn delivered to cover the floor of the old American Stock Exchange building. This element, along with the three burned-down barns, was intended to portray the future of America through an imperfect lens.

The Carolina Herrera Show After her show had concluded, Carolina Herrera took her final bow at New York Fashion Week with dozens of roses in hand and it was beautiful. The show happened a week after she announced she would be stepping down as creative director after 37 with her brand.

Desmond Napoles

The Kate Spade Show

The Marc Jacobs Show

Desmond Napoles is a self-proclaimed "drag kid" who is known for his fashion and beauty filled Instagram and being an LGBTQ advocate. Desmond made his debut and became the youngest drag star to walk NYFW at the Gypsy Sport Fall 2018 show.

The Kate Spade show was quoted as feeling like a real fashion moment. Attendees said they did not feel as though they were watching a typical fashion week show. It felt like something straight out of Paris. Creative Director Nicola Glass debuted the collection with an immense attention to detail and an iconic twist on the traditional style.

Marc Jacobs ended the week with drama. The ultimate 80's inspired collection featured sharp hats, beautiful vibrant colors, and oversized silhouettes, ending NYFW's culmination of the 80's-inspired runways.
