Q: DO YOU HAVE ANY DORM ROOM DÉCOR IDEAS/HACKS? A: Use stick-on décor for your walls instead of frames to prevent damage on the walls. It also makes it a lot easier when moving out and is cheaper. 3 fashion rules you should break 1. DENIM ON DENIM: I’M SURE YOU’VE ALL BEEN WARNED ABOUT THE FASHION FAUX PAS THAT IS DOUBLE DENIM. WELL, I’M HERE TO TELL YOU THAT DENIM ON DENIM IS MORE THAN OKAY! IN FACT, IT’S SUPER TRENDY! PAIR A LIGHT WASH JACKET WITH DARK WASH SHORTS OR VICE VERSA AND YOU’RE SET! A GOOD WAY TO BREAK UP THE FABRICS IS WITH A CUTE BELT OR A CLASSIC WHITE OR BLACK TEE. YOU CAN ALSO USE BRIGHT COLORS TO DETRACT FROM THE DENIM IN THE BEST WAY. FOLLOW THESE TIPS AND YOU’RE SURE TO ROCK THE CANADIAN TUXEDO!
2. MIXING METALS: I’LL BE THE FIRST TO ADMIT, I USED TO BE A SKEPTIC REGARDING THIS TREND, BUT WEARING SILVER AND GOLD JEWELRY TOGETHER IS ACTUALLY VERY CHIC! THE BIGGEST TIP I HAVE FOR YOU IS TO MAKE EVERY ACCESSORY SEEM DELIBERATE. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS TREND OCCURS WHEN THE LOOK GETS TOO MESSY. TO AVOID THIS, MAKE SURE YOU’RE MIXING COLORS AND NOT STYLES. LAYER A FEW OF THE SAME STYLE NECKLACES AND POP ON SEVERAL GOLD AND SILVER RINGS. DONE RIGHT, THIS TREND WILL HAVE YOU STYLING ON THE STREETS.
3. MIXING PRINTS: IT’S COMMONLY SAID THAT MIXING PRINTS CAN LEAD TO A BUSY AND DISORDERLY OUTFIT, BUT THAT’S SUCH AN OUTDATED RULE! MIXING PRINTS CAN BE DARING AND BRIGHT, BUT FOR THE MOST PART… FUN! FLORALS WITH GEOMETRICS, STRIPES WITH POLKA DOTS, AND ANIMAL PRINT WITH WELL, ANYTHING! THE BEST THING TO REMEMBER IS LEOPARD. IN THE WORLD OF PRINTS, LEOPARD IS A CLASSIC STAPLE ITEM AND CAN BE A NEUTRAL IN ANY PATTERNED SITUATION. IT’S ALSO IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER COLOR. A LIGHT PATTERN WITH A DARK PATTERN IS VISUALLY PLEASING AND KEEPS FROM CLASHING. KEEP IT CLEAN, BUT HAVE FUN!

TOP 3 FASHION PODCASTS YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO Written by: Madeline Black We all have our favorite movies or television shows, but what if you had a favorite fashion podcast to listen to? I think you would be pretty content. Currently, fashion podcasts are an amazing, unique way to learn about the fashion industry around you. As of right now, there are 3 top podcasts you should give a listen to! The first is called The Glossy Podcast, which focuses on the interplay between fashion and technology. It provides unique insight into the fashion industry by discovering how technology can impact fashion from all different views. Podcasts aren’t always about reviews and advice though, UNSTYLED focuses on how clothes can tell the stories of our lives. It is hosted by Refinery 29 Global Editor-in-Chief and Co-founder, Christene Barberich, as she explores the tales of life from the funny times, to the heartbreaks but through the things we wear! Lastly, Fashion No Filter is a great podcast to tune in to. It is created by fashion journalist Camille Charrière and Monica Ainley. It focuses on a range of fashion-related topics and the unnoticed aspects of the fashion industry. They comment on lots of topics, such as seating arrangements at a runway fashion show to open conversations about the industry. Vogue magazine lists this as a “need to listen to” podcast. All of these podcasts are a great way to get brainstorming on all your fashion wonders.
