Congratulations are in order for KCSD96 Humanities Specialist Jessica Woods! Jessica and her husband, Brad Husted, got married on October 4, 2024, at the beautiful Blue Harbor Resort on the shore of Lake Michigan in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Surrounded by a small group family and friends, the couple celebrated their love and commitment, joined by their five children. The beautiful lakeside setting made for a perfect day as they began this new chapter together Congratulations, Jessica!

Staff Shoutouts

“EC-8 Innovation Specialist Howard Frishman has been working with the 1st grade teachers at Prairie on integrating Classkick into their instruction Kaitlin Giannos, Kaylee Furlett, Lindsay Silverstein, and Carly Andrews were incredible at jumping right in! They led their students through an interactive lesson in Math or Writing to see the powerful tools within the program in action with their students First grade crushed the experience! The students were incredible and the teachers worked magic.... in real time! Thanks, Howard, for supporting student learning in such a powerful way. Thanks, 1st grade Prairie, for being such true life long learners.”

“Country Meadows Instructional Coaches Daphne Krupa and Kristen Vargas developed a hands-on ACCESS practice activity spanning 3 weeks. They reached out to EC-8 Science and Wellness Specialist Nicole McRee and together began facilitating a week-long science experiment where students made observations every few days and practiced their speaking skills Students were taught specific strategies to use to improve their speaking by flipping the question around, planning what they will say before recording, and using academic vocabulary They then completed an experiment individually to put their new skills into practice! What an innovative way to improve oracy skills in a context that is naturally engaging. Thanks, Daphne and Kristen for providing our students with this opportunity!“
