Creative Youth Network’s Summer Holiday Programme Our summer holiday programme brings you all of our new sessions, exhibitions and events in July and August 2017. We’re celebrating Bristol’s youth. In each seasonal programme, you’ll get to hear from one of the young people we work with. Being taken into care is a traumatic experience. Rio (17) kept his head up and his desire to learn regardless, holding on to his ambitious dream of becoming an accountant. “When my girlfriend became pregnant, I knew we needed to get help to move forward. Creative Youth Network helped us find accommodation, making our lives so much better. My job coach (Rebecca) has been doing so much for me. We’ve been to every single accountacy firm on a mile radius from my house. We handed out CVs and found out what I need to do to get an apprenticeship with them.
Then Rebecca found a great opportunity for work experience in the Mayor’s office and at NatWest. I got to work in every department and be on interview panels. I could never had done all this on my own.” We’re still here for Rio. For his next big next step, an accountacy job, we will provide advice, support and undersanding.
“When NatWest sent me a voucher for my first suit,
it showed me I was valued. It’s an incredible feeling. Thank you Creative Youth Network for believing in me.”

This summer Creative Youth Network brings you a live music and dance performance in the old magistrates courts and police cells at The Station. Rights to Move has been created by young people inspired by civil rights movements. It is linked to the Journey to Justice programme, which is a national exhibition. Working with Kinesis, Tribe Dance Theatre and Rise Youth Dance Company, as well as musicians from Temple Records, Rights to Move will be an immersive and visual promenade performance.
Throughout July at The Station 11am– 8pm, Open to all, Free
