2022/ 23 - A season t o rem em ber
So much has happened for the U15/16 squad it's hard to believe that it all fitted into the one season which has now ended. Starting in September we were in the position of having a squad within the club at this age group for the first time in over a decade. Over 20 players regularly training and being part of match days was a great achievement for all involved over the years.

Fundraising efforts began with many events seeing the squad bag pack at Tesco, dressing up as elves and serving cream teas to name a few. All with the aim of the squad attending a trip to Spain to take part in the Costa Daurada Cup. A first for the club and a huge commitment from the volunteers who worked tirelessly to arrange the trip and sort the fundraising ideas.
The actual trip to Spain will undoubtedly always be the highlight of this season Seeing 19 players bond like they did, play the football that they did against some of the biggest global academies, behave as impeccably as they did and most importantly, just enjoy the whole experience with no negativity during the trip was a pleasure to experience. Whatever happens, those players will always have those memories and it was great that so many parents also attended and experienced this trip. So much so that we are already planning a return in 2025!!!
The season ended after Easter and saw the team finish mid table. A great achievement with half of the squad playing up a year and some great results coming against some extremely good and established U16 teams.

With having a team at this age we also had the boys sitting exams towards the end of season. Hopefully the boys will all get the results that they were aiming for and will go on to do the course that they want to do at college whilst some start apprenticeships.

Finally we saw some of the squad take the first steps into the world of coaching by helping with the newly formed Catterick Village Roses sessions.
