“I can remember the look on their faces when the buildings came into view. It was as if their hearts stopped for a second.”
- MO COLEMANOn the 26th of march, 2024 the cast of this year’s musical,(Roger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella), were granted the opportunity to attend the city that never sleeps, the big apple; the one and only New York City. The trip lasted two days, but do not be deceived, for those days were packed full of adventure, sightseeing, and obviously obnoxiously wonderful musical tunes at every turn.
dered around the city, dining on cuisines from all over the world. After the lively dinner, the students congregated back to their hotel where they rested before hitting the streets of New York bright and early at 7AM the next morning. The journey around the concrete jungle consisted of going on the ferry, visiting Ellis Island, touring the Statue of Liberty, and getting delicious food to end the night off.
The trip was taken by bus, a long ride if you will, but the nine hours flew by as the excitement of seeing the skyline kept spirits high and energies up. On the first day of arrival the students wan
The second day of the trip was the “busy day” as the CHS students began the day at 6AM, not wasting a minute before hopping on the bus and traveling to Times Square. A two hour guided tour was given when the students touched down in the heart of the square. The main focus of the tour was the Broadway district of the city; and after the tour we were lead to a noteable musical diner called “Gayles”, ending the night with seeing “Wicked” on Broadway. As the students made their way to their rooms, excitement and sadness grew as the next day they were headed home.
Have a great Summer CHS. See you next year!
