Describe Your Happy Place

Where is your happy place? I grew up on the mid north coast of NSW in a small town called Valla Beach which was nestled between the bush and the beach. Because it was such a small town in which most people knew each other, I was granted relative freedom to roam the native environment and explore. I have very fond memories of riding my scooter up and down the streets with my friends and neighbours, cantering through the bush in front of my house, making up stories about my life if I had lived there and spending all day on the beach, crisping in the sun. Being inside seemed like such a dull affair when you could be immersed in a different world, a natural world. I feel as if these early life experiences led me to always have a special connection with the natural environment as it was the one true place that I could seek comfort and clarity – my happy place.
Across the road from my house was extensive bushland that stretched a few kilometres until it was cut off by the highway. In many ways, it was my childhood playground. There was a small dam in the bushland that I often took my dog to play fetch and cool off. There was a bush track that winded up and down hills and ended in a small little clearing and there was also dirt bike tracks that a local boy had made from scrap materials. When I was 12, a housing development crew came to town and begun marking out the land to demolish to build new estates and within weeks they were underway. They began draining the dam to make way
My Favorite Place
One of my favorite places in the world that has affected my life the most is my childhood town and my home in Mobile, Alabama. I grew up in a beige, two story house that sits on a long yard backed up to Dog River. My house is about ten minutes outside of downtown Mobile, AL and is very close to Mobile Bay. Spending time near the water and growing up in the area that I did greatly influenced the way that I think about things and the way that I live my life. My family has lived in them same area for generations and not many have moved away. InJamaica Kincaid's A Small Place, Kincaid talks about how when multiple generations grow up in the same area, they tend to become more invested and involved with the area that they are in, growing in their appreciation for the place that they grew up. The place that I grew up in has greatly affected the person that I have become in ways such as where my ancestors are from, how I view social issues, and my own personal identity. My mother's family lived on the same river about a mile away, and my father's family had lived in the city for generations. The area I grew up in was the same area that my parents and grandparents grew up in, so it is safe to say that I was greatly influenced by the area. Since I have such a deep connection to the area I grew up in, I have developed a fondness for the river and the wildlife in it. My whole life I have loved to go fishing and skiing on the water, or just sitting on the bank of the river to relax.

Washington. A place that I've been lucky to call home all my life. A place with an average population of 7.288 million people. If you were to ask me what my favorite part of my home state is my first answer would be Seattle. Seattle is full of buildings tall like mountains, full of people so diverse, with adventure waiting at every corner. It rains inWashingtonjust about as often as the average person showers in a week. I've noticed ranges from light little showers that feels almost like a snowfall to heavy showers with rain falling at remarkable speeds. Even with the rain the weather in Washington I say is pretty great. I often find myself find myself longing for a moment of clear skies so that I can enjoy the view of the oh so present Mt. Rainer. A mountain with snow fall that looks as soft and white as fox's fur. Washington state is full of marvelous wonders waiting to be explored. Seattle, the largest city in Washington, has a population of over 700,000. Each day you'll see hundreds of people walking its streets looking up at its glory. From the Space Needle to the Columbia Center many buildings are within Seattle's skyline. The Puget Sound homes it's very own Alki Beach. The best feeling is when I get to take off my shoes and feel all the little pebbles between my toes and the soft feeling of waves brushing my feet. If I'm ever down in Seattle I always try to venture down to Pike Place. At night it's just marvelous, lit up with red light from the "Public Market Center" sign located up top on a building. Little shops aligned one by one selling a whole range of items such as fish and other foods, paintings, accessories', clothing, and so much more. I always find myself leaving with a bouget of flowers of all different colors and types. Over the years I've noticed Seattle is always at its busiest when one its sports team is playing. Cars are filled back to back with people coming from all over to see them play. I'll see buses unloading and loading loads of people at every stop all dressed in green and/or blue. It's not a wonder as to why Seattle is always busy with new sites waiting for anyone to come visit, life is an adventure after all. After living in Washington for 16 years I can definitely

Describe My Favorite Place
I have always been the type of person that likes to explore. I don't like to be inside, I like to be able to take everything in and watch what's round me. I love just watching the wildlife and exploring, finding new plants and trees blossoms my imagination. As I have explored a lot of places around me I have found one of my favorites. At Dawes Arboretum I have found and experienced many different things on my adventures that I want to share like: the trails, the kinds of people, the type of nature. When you go to a new place there is always that excitement of what's out there. Where do the different trails go. At Dawes there are many different trails and pathways to take. This place is huge you can follow the paths that they make or you can make your own. That's my favorite thing to do. I always love to find my own new things and make my own favorite paths. The Woodlands at Dawes is such a amazing but yet spooky place to visit. In this area there is many native plants along the paths like the buttonbush, foamflower, wild geranium. What makes this place so spooky but intriguing is the cemetery that lies here. It is named one of the oldest cemeteries in Licking County and is stilled used my the Beard–Green Family to this day. Another site that seems to be a popular one to explore is The Arboretum East. The trails here are a lot me rough so a lot of times more adventurous hikers go for these. This beautiful place has a little bit of everything. Its trailers are usually about

1. There's a gas station which is very popular and busy, but at night it's very slow, barely anyone goes to the gas station. One night it was a few of my friends and I that went to this specific gas station for sodas and snacks. By the way, no one was at the gas station, no one purchasing anything inside or anyone at the pumps getting gas for their vehicles. It was an empty gas station, my friends and I, and the store employee were the only ones there. Once we were done purchasing our things we were walking back to our car we heard noises almost like a subtle laughter, so us white people investigated the surroundings. There was an alleyway in the back of the gas station that was very sketchy. We walked down the alley until we reached a high fence that was locked. My friend broke the lock, and we went into this sort of woody area, some like the woods. I didn't go in, but two of my friends did, and I heard the laughter, and then it went dead silent. The gas station was very sketchy, and I heard the very creepy laugh, so my friends and I left immediately. 2 . A happy place is my house, it's a pleasant place, but it's also one of my favorite places. It has everything I need and want; it's also delightful to be in my house, I enjoy It a lot. It is freezing and relaxing. I am barely there, but I would like to there more often. I have my bed, laptop, tv, computer, Xbox and my phone. I have everything there, and I quite honestly enjoy being there very much. I watch a lot of

As I sit here, on the hood of my car looking out into the vast field I think to myself, why this place? Out of all the places that mean so much to me, why does this place stand out the most? Everyone has that one spot that is special to him or her for various reasons whether it be a memory, experience, how it makes them feel, etc. For me, my favorite place encompasses all my senses bringing them to an all time high filling me with an overwhelming indescribable feeling. It's my sanctuary, a safe place, but above all a place to clear my mind and getaway from reality. There aren't enough captivating words to describe the beauty of this place. In the winter, the vast field covered in a blanket of untouched glimmering snow surrounded by bare...show more content...
I lay in the center, listening to soft music my iPod or the birds lulling me into a deep meditation. It is in this spot that I've had the deepest conversations with myself, coming to realizations and understandings about my relationships to life, others, and me. The secluded stillness allows my brain to freely wander, explore, and reflect deep concepts coming to profound insights that further benefit me in this crazy journey I call life. The winds, curves, inclines, declines of the trail makes it a perfect path to jog on. The isolation from the outside world makes it easy for my mind to focus on nothing but the task at hand – which is making it all the way around the 3–mile trail without stopping. Although, most times this doesn't happen because I'm so taken back by the surrounding beauty. I always stop to take in the deep blue sky or the butterflies fluttering gracefully through the field of wild flowers. But when I am running I feel virtually weightless physically and mentally. My mind is blank allowing me to become one with my surroundings. The feeling of the cool crisp air breezing through my hair relaxes me as I intensely run to the heart pumping music blasting through my headphones. The path winds throughout an open field into a forest where you come out by the base cemetery. Passing it constantly fills me withemotion, carrying not only the weight for Get more content

My Favorite Place
There is a room in my home which is full of books and somewhat messy. It is my living room, which may be not quite common. It is where I stay longest, study, and relax at home. It has accompanied me for approximately ten years and has seen my growth. It makes every day meaningful to me, and therefore, it is my favorite place without doubt. My living room is different from an ordinary one. Indeed, most of common furniture of a living room is there. There is just one thing missing. It is the television, which my family removed when I was in senior high. However, the room also has many elements of a study, thereby it is multifunctional and special. Stepping into the room, one can see desks for daily study, bookcases, and shelves. Since I love books, books take up much space of the room. They flow from shelves and bookcases to everywhere you may imagine: on the desks, in the schoolbag I bring to school, and even sometimes...show more content...
I can still remember the old days. I used to be fond of intelligence toys and chess games, and let the toys and chess pieces occupy the table. I used to watch fancy cartoons or scientific educational programs on television with curiosity. I used to read novels or popular science books on the sofa, and sometimes I was so concentrated that I forgot about the time. So many important incidents once happened there. The table used to be where my mother taught me basic knowledge and my first academic tutorial took place. The starting point of my learning chemistry of senior high also took place there when I was almost ten. Moreover, the shabby desk in the room always reminds me of the time when I was busy preparing for the college entrance examination. Every scar on the desk is telling a story. The pen rushing on the paper, I tried my best to improve myself through all kinds of tests held by myself. Sweat was in my palms. The process was hard but

Describe My Favorite Place
Fresh out of college I moved to Steuben, Maine, right along the coast of Gouldsboro Bay. My dream as a kid was always to move to Maine; the farthest place from America without actually leaving America. I planned on working at my quiet accounting job for 30 years and retiring worry free, alone, happy. But, you changed everything. I remember it clearly. I had left my quaint little house to the coffee shop down the road. Being the only coffee shop for miles, it provided coffee for just about everyone in town. Run by an elderly couple by the names and Rob and Eden, the words "Steuben Coffee, Your Maine Place to Eat" hung high above the doors in clean white letters. Rob had made every piece of furniture in there; dozens of tables, all shapes and sizes, beautiful chairs, elegantly carved, and a large counter, with high seats for all the customers. Behind the counter you could see Rob and Eden making coffee and their baked goods all day long, the smells hitting you every time you walked in through the doors. This was my favorite place in all of Steuben. I looked around the familiar room. Faces of neighbors, friends, people I've grown accustomed to seeing here every day. All except one. A girl, sitting at the counter with her computer open and fingers typing away. I don't remember walking over to her, but I remember talking to her. She turned towards me, and I caught my breath. She was beautiful. With fair skin her amber eyes shone brightly. Her brown hair faded into a blonde, Get more content

It been a ten years I missed my hometown. I still remember about my hometown, where I grew up and spent half of my childhood time in there. My hometown was small, we didn't have a tall building, and even we didn't have a good house. I lived in refugee camp,I was happy to live in there. In my hometown everyone nice to each other, neighbor were grateful, and Helpful. Back in days I had so many friends, We were played football (soccer) everyday, Sometime my friend and I used skipped class together, and at home we get punishment by our parents. I've a great memories with my hometown.
When I was a young, I am a cool kids around my neighbor. They loved me so much because I knew how to talk to them and respect older people. As I was a young, I love Football which I mean is soccer. I was a biggest fan of soccer, and I used to played soccer from the school team. At my house we had small black and white TV. Most of the time my dad and I watched a soccer game in TV. My neighbors and even my town people loved the soccer. The best thing was where ever there was soccer match going on tv. They came to my house to watched it and we all watch the game together. Also some people didn't liked soccer. I mean especially women they hated soccer because they think soccer is useless sport. The reason they said that because their husband spent a so much time watching soccer. Sometime I hear wife and husband having a wrangle about soccer. I missed this all stuff and this was a best part of growing

Describe My Favorite Place
A long driveway with potholes leads you there. It was always my favorite thing about it. The car shakes and wobbles with every hole. The make shift parking pad of the house was just part of the grass that slowly died due to the lack of sun. When I was a child, pulling up to that Garnet home brought this bubble of joy into my throat. A small home with a screened in porch and large yard. That home is a place I would go back to if I could because it holds far more happy memories than any other place. Fond is just one word I could use. Every first of my childhood happened in that house. Every Holiday I can remember was there. Easter was always my favorite time. All 12 of my grandmother's grandchildren lined up in the hall that had no windows so we couldn't peak. We stood there in anticipation as they hid the eggs standing from youngest to oldest waiting. The anticipation would cause us to shake and giggle. We knew who ever found the gold egg got the big chocolate bunny on the counter. They began by counting down from five and the youngest got the head start, which included myself. We would take off and search over an acre of land for 72 eggs we had decorated the night before. I think in the 8 years we had easter at her house, I never found that golden egg. The possibility of finding the egg kept me going. The holidays that we had at that home held our family together. My family was together in the home because the two of the strongest people I have ever known lived there. My Get

For many people there is a sweet smell, a pleasing photograph, the familiar sound of happiness that bring them back to a place full of childhood images. In my life, I was lucky enough to have traveled to some of the most beautiful places on Earth. I have swum with the dolphins in crystal blue sea of Phuket Thailand and watch golden ray of the sunshine set behind mount Fuji in Japan. However, no places earth will compare to the loveliness of my childhood paradise, a place I called home. Barbara Kingsolver writes, "I have a place where all my stories begin," and my story began at a lake house located on the water edge of Little Toad Lake, Minnesota. (Kingsolver 939). It is where I spent half my life with my dog (Spike), sister, mom, and dad, through the hot summer days and freezing winter months. The house was built on the side of a steep hill leading down to a beach front lake. The main entrance had a big double iron door which lead into the living room overlooking the lake. The main living area had several big windows which let in a brilliant of sunlight onto the dark walnut floor. The fireplace mantle displays a big moose head that my dad shot on his hunting trip to Alaska (his prize possession). My favorite place of the house would be the kitchen. That's where all my lessons of cooking started. Thank you to my mom for teaching me the value of cooking. If it wasn't for her I would be eating ramens every day at college. Oh, the memories we had at the lake house. In the spring, my mom, sister, and I go on long walks in the woods to go mushroom hunting because who doesn't love free food. I remember making mushroom soup for the first time and almost burning my hands off because I forgot to turn the stove down to low and the pot was overflowing onto the floor. I could still remember the facial expression on my mom's face, let just say she was not a happy camper. One summer day, my sister and I were out fishing with my mom on the pontoon and we were catching a lot of fish and out of nowhere it started pouring rain. My mom started the pontoon and guess what? We ran out of gas in the middle of the lake. It took as over two hours to paddle back to shore but thank goodness it stopped raining. To this day we still

As a child, people will always remember certain destinations that stick with them that made a good impression. I have a place that not only made a good impression, it changed me. It made me think off all the things in life people take for granted; places, people, activates. This place brought all though special things in life to one place where I can enjoy them all at the same time. The Oregon coast. Traveling there, as a kid was always special. Waking up early in the morning and driving the long trip there, going through forests, valleys, and cities. The Oregon coast is such a broad place to describe, but in reality, all the towns have the same feel but different atmosphere. Pacific City is small and quiet with a great...show more content...
Its cold, windy, and sunny all at the same time. The beach stretches for miles seeming endless, until it reaches a tall cliff with waves crashing against it. The sun shines down on the moisture in the air creating a "sparkling" affect to add to the view. In some spots on the coast giant rock formations stick out of the water, creating a question on how they formed there. Sea creatures dot the sand everywhere. Walking the beach with sand between your toes is and not a worry in your mind is one of the best feelings. If you time it right early in the mornings and late in the night low tide takes place and you can find sand dollars and unique shells. Beautiful houses and hotels line the beach all with the same withered look they all strive to have, and balconies on every place to capture the view. This destination is such an important place to Oregonians because its such a magical place. It transports you into a different dimension where there are no other places like it. You cannot be one the beach without a smile on your face, it's near impossible to be in a gloomy mood when there. Mainly magical because you can escape there with family and friends with many opportunities to try to experience new or traditional things. Like having a fire on a beach roasting s'mores with family and friends, or trying weird sea creature at a restaurant. The Oregon Coast will always hold a spot near to my heart. I can't wait for

Lively, bustling, and exciting are how I would describe my favorite city. It is a place like no other; smells, sights, and sounds completely engulf me. It is a city full of action, something exciting happening at every moment. It is my happy place and excites me every time anew.
As I step out of the hectic train station after what feels like an eternity on an outdated train, I am greeted by what one would call "the city." Almost instantly, the crispy air hits my face, turning my nose red and my face a shade of snow white. I look around, beautiful architectural buildings fill the city. Megatall skyscrapers extend towards the dusky greyish sky, creating a magnificent skyline. In front of me, a magnitude of yellow cabs stand still in traffic, impatiently awaiting their turn to pass through. Another glance reveals the antique looking subway station signs on almost every corner. A sign in front of me reads, "34 Street Subway Station B D F V." How remarkable, I think to myself, that man was able to come up with such an innovative idea for easy and affordable commute throughout the jam packed city. I walk ahead, encountering various different types of stores. A middle–aged man pops his head out of his shop attempting to sell me some cheap electronics. I ignore the man as is the common practice here and continue walking jovially. Ahead of me, an array of clothing stores align the street. Some shops are selling foreign attire, including multicolored Indian saris, authentic

At nights where they are perfect, you will spend time with friends, get to have fun and start new memories with them. Now you're probably wondering what this very spot5 is well, I am going to share it with you based on the spectacular memories I have created here. Its filled with wonderful sounds at every half hour. These sounds are like the wonderful noises that birds make to one another. Not only is the music so peaceful, but the way that it repeats its same beat just puts a smile on my face. The beat of the music may be songful to the ear but a reason as to why I chose this was because it lets me know what time it is in the day. It is also a reminder to me that I should be somewhere in a couple minutes. The reminder is a special aspect of why I wanted to share this place with you because it can help you be productive in your everyday life. For example, this helps me know that as the wonderful beat plays it is quarter to the hour and that I have to be somewhere in less than twenty
