OPS Paws for Reading Book Fair

YEAR 4 – 8 TRIATHLON February is national Bike Month. We here at OPS have been training for our annual triathlon.

Thank you everyone who came along and supported the OPS Book Fair last week. Special thanks to Cushla who did the huge job of setting up and running the fair and to Debbie Spalding who coordinated the daily read a round, Family Evening, Grandparents morning and parade. Cushla sold a record breaking $4,580 worth of books. This means a rebate of over $1500 to spend on new books for our library. We also collected loads of pet food donations and $108 to give to the SPCA. Tumeke manaakitanga OPS.

OPS SPRING WORKING BEE Thanks to all our helpers we… stained the student outdoor furniture and R3/4 decks, weeded and barked the front gardens, shovelled and spread new bark in the playground, trimmed back the Coppelia Ave boundary, painted the pool fence and outside pool wall, cleared back the pool garden, and installed an extra shade for the pool seating area. WOW – many hands certainly do make light work. Big thanks to our caretaker Shaun for coordinating and for keeping our school looking so amazing.

Parenting Workshop – TONIGHT in the library - 29 October 6.30 – 8.30 pm. Free book - “Releasing the Genie Within” There is still space. Please phone Heather in our school office if you would like to attend. It’s free – our BOT are covering the cost.

Are all your fees up to date? Please check the Kindo App to ensure all sport, trip, stationery and mathletics fees have been paid. Thank you for your support. Here at OPS we pride ourselves on positive sportsmanship both on and off the field – please support us by reading through the Player, Coach and Spectator Codes of Conduct. This year we have a number of our senior students who have taken on the challenge of coaching and refereeing – this provides them with valuable experience. It is our expectation that all parents on the side lines will provide positive support to these young people as they take on this new challenge so that they will have positive experiences.
