Welcome & Opening Remarks

During the opening remarks, Terrance shared the exciting update about conversations with CUNY SPS Dean, Lisa Braverman, about exploring the creation of an L&D certificate program at CUNY SPS.

Leveraging AI Tools for Rapid Development

Kaitlyn presented an excellent overview of the features and benefits of HeyGen, an AI platform (with a free version available) that can reduce development time in half. Users can upload a PowerPoint that will convert to an interactive video with a full service editor included. This can function as a “Trainer on Demand” that offers over 800 avatars and over 1200 voices.

Presentation: From Training to Performance

Gabrielle took the group through the 5 steps of a training design model:

• Identify the goal

• What do they need to do?

• Why aren’t they doing it now?

• How can we help them practice it?

• What’s the minimum they need to know to practice effectively?

Establishing NYC Training Council Committees

Clarke introduced the three NYCTC committee chairs and encouraged attendees to join at least one of the committee breakout sessions. There was incredible participation and many breakout attendees joined a committee.
