Founded in 1996, the MSP program has a network of over 500 alumni, many of which are available to assist students in the program and to serve as a resource in their professional lives.
Through the MSP program, I met and became lifelong friends and colleagues with a Deputy Chief of Police and his fellow officers, IT professionals, governmental fixtures, finance professionals and more. Additionally, the program introduced me to leaders from many different arenas: political, educational, non-profit, small and large companies and more. You can focus your interests and talents into the courses that best suit you and your future goals to work toward becoming a subject matter expert.
The MSP program at Cumberland University is very special to me MSP provided me a convenient and affordable path to obtain a master’s degree. Since graduating, I definitely credit my MSP experience and degree with advancing my public service career."
"While many master's programs are esoteric in approach, I was energized by the real life applicability of the issues discussed and the solutions presented The curriculum encompassed both evidencebased practices and a pragmatism which provided opportunities to apply knowledge. As a director for Government and Community Outreach and Engagement, at one of the largest organizations in the state, I continue to utilize much of what I learned, and I know I can always reach out to any professor, administrator, or fellow classmate for networking and processing of ideas."
