Spotlight on Veterans Behavioral Health Care 4 credits | $55 Amy Otzel, MA, MS, LPC William Rodriguez, MSW The Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that there are currently 22 million Americans who have served in the military at some point in their life. Military members face a unique set of traumas, stressors, and other hardships throughout their time in a warzone; it is imperative that clinicians understand and respond to these challenges through best-practices in veteran’s behavioral health care. Through lecture and panel discussions, this spotlight event will shine a light on several of the most pertinent topics in veteran’s behavioral health care including the stigma of seeking services, military sexual trauma, and community reintegration.
