Biology of Addiction: A Continued Conversation 4.5 credits | $60 Lauren Doninger, EdD, LADC, LPC This training will explore a broad array of drugs of abuse, including substances that are not intended for consumption (e.g., inhalants). Participants will learn about the constant “innovation” in drug development that results in an ever-changing landscape of drugs of abuse and challenges to consistent regulation (e.g., spice, salvia, bath salts). Trends in drug use will be discussed and the particular problem of prescription drugs (and subsequent rise in heroin use) will be presented.
