Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for PTSD July 15, 2021 | 9am-12pm | 3 credits | Veteran Services | $60 David F. Tolin, PhD, ABPP Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is common in both military and civilian populations. Patients with chronic PTSD are often difficult to treat, and the degree of functional impairment from PTSD can be extremely high. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is among the most well-validated, evidence-based treatments for PTSD. In this half-day workshop, we will review the principles of CBT for PTSD, including various forms of therapeutic exposure, cognitive restructuring, and stress inoculation training. Dr. Tolin will use a mix of didactic presentation and case examples to illustrate how these treatments are implemented.
