Sulfamic Acid as a Cleaning Agent • De-scaler, rust remover, and cleaner from milk evaporators, pipeline, brewery equipment such as vats, pipelines, etc. • Used in dye & pigment manufacturing • Used as an herbicide. • Ingredient in fire extinguishing media. • Urea-formaldehyde resins coagulator • Synthesis of nitrous oxide by reaction with nitric acid. • Chloride stabilizer in cooling towers, pulp & paper industry. • Catalyst for esterification process www.chemtexltd.com

Sulfamic acid provides intrinsic safety ergo preferred over hydrochloric acid for household use. Unlike most common acids, sulfamic acid does not form chlorine gas when mixed with hypochlorite-based products. It has replaced hydrochloric acid as a rust remover.

When compared to other strong and most common strong mineral acids, the sulfamic acid has low toxicity, low volatility, and water descaling properties.
