We are proud to equip our Corpsmembers with essential skills that can truly make a di erence in emergency situations, ensuring they are ready to help our community when it matters most.

Our Corpsmembers also participated in HAZWOPER training, which focuses on Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response in accordance with OSHA standards. This training is crucial for preparing our team to safely handle hazardous materials and e ectively respond to emergencies.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Teamsters and The Butte County O ce of Education (BCOE) for facilitating this vital training. By investing in our Corpsmembers, we’re not only enhancing their capabilities but also reinforcing our commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.

The Energy Services department is dedicated to helping local residents save money. More specically, the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is designed to increase the energy e ciency of homes owned or occupied by low-income residents. The purpose of the program is to reduce energy costs such as heating and cooling bills and to improve the health and safety of families.

Guadalupe learned that her mother’s home started to smell strongly of gas and immediately reached out to her local gas company about her concerns. The gas company inspected the home and discovered a gas leak. They turned o the gas line and informed Guadalupe that her mother may qualify for CSET services and assistance. Guadalupe was worried that her mother would not be able to a ord the repairs needed to x her home, but thankfully her mother quali ed for Weatherization services and was able to get her wall heater and water heater replaced. Additionally, the home was out tted with weather stripping on the front exterior door, low- ow showerheads and a newly repaired glass window. Guadalupe is delighted now that everything in her mother’s home is running smoothly, and they’re saving money thanks to its energy e ciency.
