In the early 1900s a local hotel that housed seminary students was converted to Southern College - the southernmost college in the United States at the time. In 1921, a fire destroyed significant portions of the campus; then a hurricane and another fire in 1922 forced its move to its current home in Lakeland, FL. The chapel was resurrected in 1924 with handmade salvaged bricks from the college grounds and became a house of prayer for local Methodists. It served its church community until the 1970s and then it served Palm Harbor as its first library and then as a local food pantry. In 1999, as part of a downtown revitalization, Pinellas County acquired the property and used a state grant to restore the building to its former splendor. Completely refurbished and modernized, The Rheba Sutton White Chapel together with the adjacent Harbor Hall was dedicated in 2003. Still, today, the bell tower houses the same bell that graced the Southern College campus. Itâ€™s a favorite of our wedding parties to mark their occasion with same bell peal that has been ringing in Palm Harbor since 1924.

• The fire codes require the maximum occupancy of 130 in Hall and 140 in Chapel. • You are able to decorate both indoor and out at both the Chapel and Hall. But, please no holes in interior walls and nothing hanging on the outside building structures. • Your contracted time will allow for both decorating and rehearsals or planning time. Please coordinate & book this with our Rental Specialist. • No open/exposed flames permitted in any venue. • Our staff will clean the venue(s).
• There is no smoking allowed inside any of our venues. However, we do provide hightop tables to be placed outside to accommodate your smoking guests. • No linens are provided. Contact your caterer or us for a list of Preferred Vendors. • We do not provide services of an Event Coordinator but will have someone on-site during your event to provide venue-related assistance. • ALL personal belongings and decorations must be removed before close of rental.
Food must be provided through a licensed and insured caterer or licensed kitchen, such as Publix or Winn Dixie. No homemade food allowed. Vendors must provide a certificate of liability at time of payment.
We are a licensed liquor facility. All bar services and alcohol must be purchased through CSA Palm Harbor. No outside liquor permitted. All alcohol must remain on premises.
Drinking guest count is based on the number of guest chairs requested for your event.

Each bridal couple is offered a complimentary bottle of champagne served by our bartender, or given as a gift for use another time. All alcohol beverages must remain on property, No alcohol is allowed beyond the steps of Harbor Hall. Persons must be 21 years of age to consume alcohol beverages. If minors are present, adequate steps must be taken to ensure that they are not allowed to consume alcohol beverages. CSA Palm Harbor event staff and/or Bartender(s) will refuse service to any guest if their behavior demonstrates intoxication, is belligerent or obnoxious and/or is abusive to event guests, staff or management.
