fabulous Slane pearl necklace and matching earrings for our key raffle. A good time was certainly had by all! We rolled our excitement from the Grand Opening party to the public opening of the Showhouse on Saturday, April 18. We averaged 115 attendees a day through the twelve days we were open. Madcap Cottage opened up shop in the Showhouse with a portion of the proceeds going to the JLHP. Tasty snacks, fabulous soaps, candles and vintage galore. Hottest item of the week had to be the New York, London, Paris, High Point t-shirts. Our Wine Tasting event with Joans Von Drehle had great attendance with delicious food from Aaron Bray of Finishing Touches. The food was tasty and a perfect pairing with the fabulous wines. We ended our two-week long fundraiser with the Second Annual Trucks and Tunes party being held at the Showhouse. This event was a special treat for our Trucks and Tunes patrons, as we kept the house open for the first hour and half of the party. With over 200 in attendance for the party, we enjoyed excellent food from Truckin’ with Tipsyz, Taqueria El Azteca, and dessert from Gigi’s Cupcake Truck of Winston-Salem. The Michael Bennett Project kept the tunes pumping, and the guests jumping while Brown Truck Brewery and Brewer’s Kettle kept the beer flowing. We had great items donated by local shops and furniture manufacturers, as well as items from the designers that were used in the showhouse to round out our raffle. It was another successful evening to finish our Showhouse events. With the help of our sponsors, designers, shop sales, ticket sales, and raffle ticket sales, the 2015 Junior League Designer Showhouse raised over $90,000. The money raised will greatly assist the Junior League of High Point as it reinstates the Teacher Mini-Grant program, extends further into our Community Impact programs, and our mission of developing the potential of women to improve the community through leadership of trained volunteers.
