ABOUT THE CRISTO REY NETWORK
The Cristo Rey Network® is the only network of high schools in the country that integrate four years of rigorous college preparatory academics with four years of professional work experience through the Corporate Work Study Program. Comprised of 41 Catholic, career focused, college preparatory schools, the Cristo Rey Network delivers a powerful and innovative approach to education that equips students from families of limited economic means with the knowledge, character, and skills to achieve their aspirations. The impact is clear: Cristo Rey graduates enroll in and graduate from college at twice the rate of their low-income peers.
MISSION & PHILOSOPHY
Cristo Rey Jesuit High School provides access to a Catholic, Jesuit, college and career preparatory education to unlock the potential of students of any culture, faith, or creed to transform our communities. We provide an innovative college and career preparatory curriculum focusing on the development of the habits of mind and spirit.
OUR SCHOOL - 17:1 STUDENT TEACHER RATIO
We provide a quality, Catholic, college-preparatory high school education. The Cristo Rey Jesuit curriculum is centered around the core subjects of English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Theology, with a wide range of advanced courses and electives available in STEM pursuits, Music and Visual Arts, Social Sciences, and Foreign Languages. In addition, we foster our students' identity as a Jesuit school by promoting the following Jesuit values: Cura Personalis (c are for the whole self), Service to Others, Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (for the greater glory of God), Finding God in all Things, Contemplatives in Action and Living the Magis (the “more”).
CORPORATE WORK STUDY PROGRAM (CWSP)
As a national Cristo Rey Network member, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Twin Cities partners with 100+ local businesses and organizations that have committed to our innovative Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP). CWSP has a formative impact by helping students understand the relationship of education to career, developing valuable skills, introducing them to role models and mentors, and building the competence and confidence critical to college and career success.
How It Works
Students work one day a week, August-June, earning approximately 40% of the cost of their education. Cristo Rey screens and places students in entry-level positions that align with their skills at partner employers. Students go through intensive career development programming before starting their jobs, so they feel equipped and empowered to be successful team members at their placement. Our diverse graduates are going to college and joining the workforce, ready to succeed in today's changing world.

Grading Scale Calculation
• Standards 70% - Skill or knowledge central to the course Standards Based Grading
4.0 Student demonstrates proficiency beyond the standard required.
3.0 Student demonstrates proficiency and has met the required standard.
2.0 Student is approaching proficiency but is not yet meeting the standard.
1.0 Student attempted the standard but did not meet proficiency, even with support.
0.0 Student did not attempt to show proficiency within the time allotted.
• Practice 25% - Assignments that prepare students to demonstrate knowledge of a standard; graded for accuracy, not completion.
• Final Exam 5% - End of semester finals
Reassessment on Standards
• Teachers provide one opportunity for reassessment outside of class, for students who earn below a 3.5 on a standard.
Standards - Recency
• Student’s score for a standard will be calculated based on recency - only the most recent attempt will be counted in their course grade.
POST SECONDARY ENROLLMENT OPTIONS (PSEO) CREDIT
Students participating in PSEO earn high school and college credit through enrollment in a college-level course taught at a postsecondary institution (PSI) by college faculty. Students may only register for one PSEO course each semester. Students give up their office hour period to take the PSEO course.
• Students who pass a PSEO course with a C or higher will earn high school elective credit of 0.5 (half credit) towards graduation. Students may only receive up to 1 elective high school credit each year, regardless of the total number of PSEO courses taken. Students must take PSEO courses for a letter grade. Elective credit earned that is communicated to the registrar through PSEO will be recorded in the student’s transcript.
• PSEO classes cannot replace a CRJHS core class (English, Science, Math, Religion, Social Studies).
• PSEO classes may not conflict with the student's core high school schedule, including the CWSP internship. As CRJHS is not an open campus, students may not leave the building during the school day.
