COLLEGE: IT’S NOT A DREAM, IT’S THE PLAN. Dear Friends, At Cristo Rey Boston this year, we redoubled our efforts to create a college-bound campus culture. Every student visited at least one college campus, all students took either the PSAT or SAT, and we expanded our curriculum to support college readiness. College completion is the goal, and to that end, we invested in support for our collegeattending alumni. We won’t be satisfied until every Cristo Rey Boston alumni proudly holds a 4-year college degree. Cristo Rey Boston students complete a rigorous college-preparatory high school education with four years of corporate work-study and have the skills to succeed. They have options because their hard work has ensured their readiness for college and career success. Thank you for creating opportunities for the aspirational, hardworking, and optimistic students who attend Cristo Rey Boston. Together, we make a difference. With gratitude, Rosemary J. Powers President

VISION STATEMENT Cristo Rey Boston is a caring, faith-based community dedicated to educating young women and men to become compassionate, responsible, lifelong learners. In partnership with our supporters, we close the opportunity gap for college- bound students from under-resourced communities.

A Quick Look Back

Dear Cristo Rey Boston Community, I have had the distinct pleasure of watching Cristo Rey Boston unfold from the crisis-driven years of 2020-2022 and emerge stronger and better prepared to meet the needs of our aspirational student body. On the financial side of the equation, thanks to strong leadership from the Board of Trustees and school administration, we have built a more sustainable economic landscape, replenished our reserves, and obtained financial support, enabling a more robust curriculum. As a result, our alumni are thriving in college, our current students prosper in the classroom, and our enrollment is growing due to our enhanced reputation. I am excited about Cristo Rey Boston High School's future and grateful for your support. Sincerely, Tom Guilfoile Chair, Board of Trustees

Keiana Ferguson: Valedictorian Keiana Ferguson has long held a dream of becoming an educator. Inspired by her teachers, she was intrigued by how they brought their style into the classroom and used their unique skills to engage students with the material. The Class of 2023 Valedictorian is a freshman at Boston College with plans to study education and become a high school English teacher. Her goal is to bring her love of learning to the next generation. She noted, "I carry my joy internally, having experienced a stable, comfortable home and school environment and given unconditional love. I am ready for the next challenge."

My time at MathWorks enabled me to grow and understand my strengths. I am an outgoing and creative person who loves interacting with adults. I know I can bring those attributes to college, and they will help me succeed. Keiana Ferguson reflecting on her Corporate Work Study experience.

Aissatou Sall: Salutatorian Aissatou Sall aspires to give back to her community by working in the field of healthcare. Now attending Boston College, she is enrolled in the Connell School of Nursing. A member of the National Honor Society while at Cristo Rey Boston, and Class Salutatorian, Aissatou participated in various collegefocused clubs at the Boys and Girls Club, Bottom Line, and EV Kids Boston. She chuckled when she noted, "My parents had us involved in everything, but I know they wanted us to have more opportunities than they had in their home country of the Republic of Guinea.”

Going to college will set the path for my younger siblings. They will see me succeed and know that it is an important part of their future as well. Aissatou Sall

From our perspective, we are not only helping a student to learn about the academic applications of their learnings, but also how to be a professional. To look beyond their current job and perhaps reset a target for their future a student might not have considered before.

Patrick Flanagan, Chief Executive Officer of Veristat
