CORPORATE WORK STUDY

Invest in Today's Workforce Solution, Tomorrow's Talent Pipeline

Build community and benefit today from a trained, hardworking, and well-supported workforce boasting a reputation for reliability and success. EXPAND YOUR TALENT

“The impact of CWS is evident: it creates opportunities for students from under-resourced communities to develop skills in the financial services sector, and that dovetails perfectly with our larger corporate vision. We are thrilled to mentor high school students, and help them broaden their horizons while experiencing what it’s like to work at JP Morgan.” Keith Slattery Global Head of Sales for Securities Services JP Morgan Chase

Cristo Rey Boston student workers bring high value now, integrating with your staff and performing entry level skilled tasks. These student workers contribute to your workplace needs, while gaining early access to professional networks and developing newfound awareness to pursue and excel in careers or industries they may not have otherwise considered.

IMPROVE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES Professional workplace environments provide consistent, high quality learning for student workers to connect classroom to career, while earning 50% of their own private education cost. Students gain valuable social and technical skills, confidence, and aspirations, along with professional mentorships that cannot be accessed in the traditional classroom.

ADVANCE RACIAL EQUITY Cristo Rey Boston student workers are culturally and linguistically diverse. Aligned with your DEI strategy, students help strengthen your diverse workforce today while creating a ripple effect that influences your industry as these student workers carry their experience to and through college. Our Corporate Partners seek to hire student workers during and after college.

ABOUT CORPORATE WORK STUDY The Corporate Work Study (CWS) program is a separately incorporated entity within Cristo Rey Boston High School that places every student in a professional job (on-site, remote or hybrid) one day a week for all four years of high school. Cristo Rey Boston students are employees of CWS, not of your company. Corporate partners pay a competitive, annual service fee to the program for the students’ college preparatory education. CWS operates similarly to a temporary staffing agency with the explicit awareness and approval of relevant state agencies and the U.S. Department of Labor.

WORK SCHEDULE Each student employee works one day per week during standard business hours, Monday through Thursday, for the entire academic year. Academic schedules are structured so that students work without ever missing class. Our integrated academic and CWS experience is recognized as the critical component of a Cristo Rey Boston education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES A team of student workers can be placed in one or more of your departments (onsite, remote or hybrid) and perform a wide range of responsibilities on the job, such as data entry, translation services, IT support, project research, marketing, talent acquisition and ERG support, and many other skills based tasks. The Corporate Work Study office works directly with you to generate a job description and a partnership experience that is mutually rewarding for your company and our student workers.

WHAT CWS CAN DO FOR YOU: Engages student workers in ongoing workplace training at the school Matches student workers to your company based on job description and student skillset. Assigns your company an Account Manager to provide supervisor training and ongoing support. Employs Student workers and manages employment eligibility verification, payroll, insurance, taxes and other employer responsibilities. Obtains special provisions from the U.S. Department of Labor to employ high school students.

Partner with our nationally and globally recognized program! Ways to Partner Locally 1. On-Site Team: A student or multiple students at work in your office(s) 2. Off-Site/Hybrid Team: Flexible team to meet your needs. When off-site, students are at a designated work site and monitored by a CWS Manager, and the students work remotely under the direction of their supervisor to complete work typically performed onsite 3. Student Worker Sponsorship: Make a tax-deductible contribution to CWS to underwrite one or more student workers for placement with a non-profit organization
