In the past year, our thesis project, "Distrito Hídrico Azteca," has focused on revitalizing the Estadio Azteca area for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026. Beyond hosting the event, we see it as a chance to showcase Mexico's rich history and address urban resilience in Mexico City, projected to reach day zero in 2028. Our study delves into subsidence, stormwater flooding, and water scarcity, proposing solutions like rainwater and wastewater reuse systems. This project, emphasizing urban planning and resilience, is both an intellectual exploration and a practical contribution to Mexico City's sustainable development.
