AT A GLANCE - WHAT DOES EACH DEPARTMENT DO?

Land & Planning – Our Land & Planning teams are responsible for buying high-quality land which meets our criteria for creating communities and placemaking. The team sees the land purchase through the planning process.

Technical are involved in every stage of the development of a piece of land, from crucial surveys when identifying land, to value engineering and resolving problems as they occur during the build stage.

Build – Our Build teams manage the construction part of the process, with our site teams ensuring we deliver our plots on time, on budget and most importantly – safely.

Sales & Marketing - Our Sales teams include site sales who manage our show homes, showing potential buyers what’s available and helping them find their future home with divisional support including marketing.

Customer Service – Our Customer Service teams are responsible managing our customers once they have moved into their new home, including helping with any defects which may need resolving.

Finance – Our Finance teams are responsible for driving the commercial performance of their particular Division, partnering with the other departments and providing valuable reports to our Group Finance team.

BENEFITS OVERVIEW

A brief overview of our benefits is shown here.

Log onto MyRewards to find out more about the benefits we offer, apply for those benefits and make any changes you need to. You will have access to MyRewards the day after you start.

SAFETY HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT

The safety, health, and welfare of everyone who is part of our operations is our number one priority

Our programme of standardisation is designed to deliver safety benefits as well as reducing cost and increasing efficiency. Our standard house designs utilise standard temporary works arrangements such as scaffolding and this repetition and simplification improves the management of one of the most important risk areas in housebuilding – preventing falls from height.

How can you help with this?

Being alert to your environment, challenging behaviours, and reporting something if it doesn’t look or feel right is the foundation of our safety culture here at Crest. Strong leadership at all levels is essential in driving improvements in performance. This year we introduced a new regime of regular line management

SHE inspections undertaken by our Build Managers and Heads of Customer Service to support and reinforce this leadership responsibility.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is of fundamental importance to our business and stakeholders. The challenges we face, from climate change to human rights, are significant, and societal expectations continue to increase. The nature of our business means we have an opportunity to be a force for good. We aim to integrate responsible practices throughout all aspects of our business, allowing us to contribute positively to society and create long term value for our stakeholders.

CLASSIFIED AS GENERAL 18

SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY

Our sustainability strategy, grounded by our core purpose to build great places for our customers, communities and the environment, is integral to our overall business strategy and strategic foundations.

The strategy has three core pillars and outlines our commitment to drive action across our business and value chain to tackle some of the most significant environmental and social challenges facing our planet and society.

• Protect the environment: Reducing our carbon emissions and adapting our homes and developments in the fight against climate change, protecting and enhancing biodiversity in and around our sites, and managing our resources efficiently to reduce waste and resource consumption.

• Make a positive impact on communities: Delivering a positive impact for our communities and partners through active engagement and partnerships, providing attractive and high-quality new homes and investing in initiatives and infrastructure that bring a lasting beneficial impact.

• Operate our business responsibly: Respecting and safeguarding the human rights of all our colleagues and those who are associated with our operations, providing a safe working environment, investing in skills, providing opportunities for our people to grow within the business and fostering a diverse and inclusive culture.

Further information including Group policies can be found on the Sustainability Grapevine pages. We look forward to working with you!

AFFINITY GROUPS

An Affinity Group is a network of colleagues from across the business who will have regular meetings to discuss opportunities for learning, awareness-raising and how to effect tangible change in their focus demographic.

This is a really important step here at Crest as we continue to focus on creating an inclusive environment where all our people are valued, included and empowered to succeed.

Based on volunteer feedback, the Affinity Groups we are initially launching with are:

• Disability

• Ethnicity

• LGBT+

• Mental Health & Wellbeing

• Religion and Belief

• Women in the Workplace

• Working Parents

But this is just the beginning. We need your help to grow these groups and topics to accurately represent the diversity of our business. A good number of you have volunteered in response to the last communication from Jane, but we want to ensure you have the opportunity to get involved and share your voice.

To find out more about the Affinity Groups, additional topic ideas, and how our charity partner “BITC” (Business in the Community) will be supporting us, please visit our dedicated page on Grapevine here.
