2017 season highlights OPERA: CBMF’s ever-popular main stage opera will feature a comic double bill of Offenbach’s witty The Island of Tulipatan and Puccini’s beloved Gianni Schicchi. These melodious comic masterpieces share a common theme of families run amok; from a case of mistaken identities in the imaginary kingdom of Tulipatan to the epic triumph of the conniving Gianni Schicchi. GYPSY JAZZ: Frank Vignola returns with violinist Ben Powell, guitarists Vinny Raniolo and Olli Soikkeli along with other gypsy jazz greats! SYMPHONY: This season, CBMF will introduce the Artist Apprentice Program, inviting the country’s most gifted pre-professional musicians to play alongside CBMF’s world-class professional musicians. CHAMBER MUSIC: Take advantage of being able to see world’s best chamber musicians performing
in stunning homes that boast spectacular mountain views, or the exclusive intimacy of the Spiegeltent. CRESTED BUTTE OPERA STUDIO AND OPERA CHILDREN’S CHORUS: These two nationallyrenowned programs are helping foster our nation’s operatic talent, from the emerging professionals of the Opera Studio to the inspiring voices of the Opera Children’s Chorus. FRANK VIGNOLA HOT CLUB DREAM CAMP: The great Frank Vignola leads the third year of this unique camp that helps impart the secrets of gypsy jazz for all ages through instruction, improvisation, and performance. CBMF BLUEGRASS KIDS CAMP: A fun, five day music camp that provides kids (ages 7-14) an amazing experience in bluegrass music education and ensemble performance.
