Poet of the Month
May 2022
Ahsia’s love for writing started in her high school years, and was lit by her urge to project what was happening to the 12 year old her through words on pages. “I like to use prompts for my poetry, see what it conjures in my mind and I just write” Those were her words when she was asked about her writing process. She carries great pride in her body of work and lives for the moment. “I’m a Virgo, but I’m also a poet and a writer. I truly like being all three of those things. I’m really proud of this journey that I’m going on and honestly, amazed to be part of such an amazing community on instagram. I’m content with the way life is going and I hope that I can release another poetry book someday!“

CLOSE I HAVE HEARD ARE THE FRIENDS BY SHAMIK BANERJEE
From The Poet
The Law of Attraction and Repulsion
“The poem is based on my personal sentiments and contemplations of the 'degree' of bonding and repulsion between two hearts. I have experienced, mostly, strong connections with people undergoing incessant grief and a past of heavy sorrow and its continuation.”
The poet gives his subjective explanation about the Law of Attraction and Repulsion, using Friendship as a reference point. Connection is a result of two individuals who have undergone similar painful experiences, stimulating a natural feeling of being attracted and held together, as friends, by sympathy.
