POET RECOGNITION
A SHORT ARTICLE ABOUT ABEL KJ
”I’ve been writing poetry for a few years now, but I recently started sharing my work on Instagram. My intention is to connect with other poets and readers who appreciate the power of words to convey emotions and ideas. I hope to inspire and be inspired by the community on this platform and to continue growing as a writer ”
From Kerala, a state in the southwest coast of India, Abel was groomed by a family that stresses the imperativeness of education and strong work ethic. He drew some lessons about hard work from his parents’ never-ending positive encouragement on pursuing passion and striving for success.
Inspired largely by positivity, art, nature and surroundings, Abel’s aspiration is to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
“Ultimately, my biggest aspiration is to live a fulfilling and meaningful life, one in which I’m able to pursue my passions, make a positive impact, and find happiness and contentment.”

Writing Style
a poem by Jen HernandezThe way I write poetry never fails to surprise me.
First, I have to pick a colour.
I pull out the cans of pain and wonder which colour will splatter the canvas.
Sometimes it’s anxiety, and sometimes it’s love. Then I grab a big brush and splatter the paint on.
Then, I am no longer a painter. But a decoder. I have to figure out the words and letters in the splatter.
Then, I am no longer a decoder. But a jigsaw solver. I have to pile the similar pieces together.
The border pieces are the punctuations. Where do I finish a sentence?
Where do I add the comma to make you pause?
Then, I am no longer a jigsaw solver. But a seamstress. I have to decide where to cut the fabric.
Do I make short sentences here or there?
Do I want a running stitch, or do I want to cross stitch this?
Then I pin the garment on my mannequin. Is this poem too long for my liking or too short? I make the final alterations to my garment. Then I wear it out
I love reading different poems from different authors and seeing the diversity in poetry. Every poet has a unique style.

a poem by PallaviBear with me
As I tear open the stitches
Blood gushes through my veins
And for once the wounds breathe
The truth lies still, undecayed
Come with me
To the depths of eternal voids
Questioning the purpose of reality
Patronised by insignificance
Yet the answers are none
This is a poem I wrote around 2 am one night when I couldn't get myself to sleep, searching for reasons that were keeping me wide awake. I scoured deeper and deeper, only for it to become intertwined in the sea of denial. As I lay defeated, I question the grounds of my existence which now seems futile. It's very intriguing that even after years of survival, we never have answers to all of our questions. And maybe that's how it's supposed to be.
-Pallavi“She undressed her heart and became love“
“Some battles are best fought in our head“
”No longer listening to all the little stones inside my head“
“In the midst of all the bullshit and chaos, I found you”
“I wait and I wait. Time looks over its shoulder, leaving me behind“
