WIMBIZ Holds 17th Annual Conference he 17th edition of the annual Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) conference recently held in Lagos on November 1 - 2 2018.

The annual conference brought together over 1000 women to discuss a broad range of issues centered on a cutting edge theme that is topical and relevant to women in business, corporate, public and development sectors.

The conference themed “Unstoppable You! Reinvent and Reinvigorate”, focused on the African woman in business and career and how she can thrive in today’s world, building a sustaining legacy by staying abreast with global trends, adapting and readapting for challenges ahead. The conference comprised of breakout and plenary sessions and ended with a rousing debate. Hot button topics in the area of mental health, nutrition, personal finance, wellness, leadership, branding, work-life balance, the technology takeover, and so on. Each session was facilitated by leading men and women who are relatable. Some of the speakers present were: Victoria Samson, Managing Director, Bovas and Company Limited; Prof Konyi Ajayai, Managing Partner, Olanikun Ajayi; Dolapo Osibanjo, Executive Director, Women’s Helping Hands Initiative.

AMVCA A recognition of Africa’s movie powerhouse

T

he sixth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards took place at Eko Hotel & Suites. The night kicked off with red carpet about 4 pm. Stars stepped out in their various impressive and astonishing attires made by Africa’s best designers.

54 After the glitz on the red carpet, it was time for the awards. In his usual dazzling and hilarious manner, the host of the night, Nigerian on-air-personality, IK Osakioduwa, stepped out on the stage. He was accompanied by his cohost, South African media personality, Minnie DlaminiJones, with whom he thrilled guests and viewers. The introductory performance of the AMVCA this year was a dazzling display of South-South Nigerian culture. The dances and the costumes were beautiful and excitedly set the tone for the evening’s proceedings.

Venture Gardens Group Launches

Vibranium Tech Valley Campus

W

ith a seven-year history in the Nigerian tech scene, Venture Garden Group launched its first tech hub in the country called

‘Vibranium Valley’.

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo who was present at the launch, took a tour around the Vibranium Valley which name was apparently

derived from the Hollywood block buster, Black Panther and Silicon Valley which is the home of global tech innovation. The Venture Garden Group has been in the business of startup investments and played a key role in financing and supporting startups like Flutterwave, Riby Finance, Max.NG, SureBids, and SureRemit.
