「把世界帶進來,讓臺灣走出去」由文化部主辦的2017臺灣文博會(Creative Expo Taiwan),是臺灣與世界交流最好的一個舞台。2016年已經吸引超過20個國家參展 ,參觀人潮突破21萬人次,更創造出高達4.7億新台幣的交易金額。 2017臺灣文博會將自4月19日起至4月23日,一連舉辦5天,以不同領域在三個展區 同時呈現。華山1914文創園區,展品以工藝為題,並搭配現場手作之系列動「工藝 現場」;於松山文創園區,以創新設計為主,亮點之一有影視名人方文山跨領域之設 計創作。而花博公園爭艷館,則以插畫、角色創作的授權領域登場。 由知名策展人王耀邦(格子),以「我們在文化裡爆炸」為題,跳脫過去以工藝設計 品堆砌而成的方式呈現,改以議題式的策展為核心概念。讓「文化」不是口號,也不 是曲高和寡的符碼,而是更反映社會脈動、人民情感,真正能傳遞美好生活的象徵。

Why is the Design of the Airport Signs Important?

這次在2017臺灣文博會的主題館中,特別以議題式的提問為主軸,推出「4+1議題」,以別於過去單純聚焦在設計、文化、藝術等物件所堆砌出來的文化符 碼。透過不同領域間的對話與涉入,提出另外一種生活的解決方案。兩位字體設計師葉忠宜與張軒豪,分別以不同的專業領域,對於「機場指標設計」提出 改善方案,以實際的方式改變你我的生活。 In the 2017 Creative Expo Taiwan Themed Pavilion, our focus is especially on questioned issues, introducing the “4+1 Issues,” which is different from simply focusing on the cultural code piled up from designed, cultural, and artistic objects. Through the conversation and involvement between different fields, another solution for life is proposed. The two font designers, Chung-Yi Yeh and Joe Chang, respectively proposed improvement programs for “Design of Airport Signs” from different professional fields, changing both your life and mine through practical ways.

正如格子所說:「『設計』不再只是你認知的設計、『製造』也不再是你想像的製造 !如同今年的策展主題「我們在文化裡爆炸」,「我們」代表了觀展者與展覽的參與 者,年輕世代的動能、對於改變(Change)的渴望與創新(Creation)、人民有感的 生活、跨域的合作與創質,不同介面與觸媒,不同路徑與策略,新的能量激發出文化 、產業、設計的花火,在有感的真實行動中,成為展。」

“Text itself carries cultural message, while font carries visual message.” Joe Chang tells us the reason why font design is important. Both Chung-Yi- Yeh and him, they planned a “Design of Airport Signs” exhibition at this year’s Creative Expo Taiwan Themed Hall. It’s an exhibition, but it’s also a proposal, where through this proposal, everyone’s imagination is stimulated, so we can all find the solution together.

因此,主題館這次特別動員40位參展人,規劃出三大主題:「6組導讀」,記錄文化 在不同時空背景下的變動軌跡,一起勾勒出當代台灣的獨特樣貌。「4+1組議題」, 透過不同領域的參與對話,提出不同文化路徑的想像。「5組選品」,由專業選品人 的眼光,集結大眾生活裡足以彰顯臺灣在地美學意義的日常物件。透過這些議題的討 論,讓我們的創意,激盪出更絢爛的火花。 “Bringing the world here, letting Taiwan be known to the world.” Creative Expo Taiwan, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, co-hosted by the Taipei City Government, and executed by Taiwan Design Center, is the best stage for conversations between Taiwan and the world. In 2016, over 20 countries were attracted to attend this expo, the number of visitors was greater than 210,000 people, and the amount of transaction reached NTD 470 million. The 2017 Creative Taiwan Expo will be held for five days from April 19th to April 23rd, where different fields will be presented simultaneously at three exhibition areas. At Huashan 1914 Creative Park, the topic of the exhibited items are crafts, where there is also “Craft On-Site,” a series of hands-on on-site events. At Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, the theme is innovative design. One of the highlights is that there is the cross-field design and creation of Vincent Fang, a television celebrity. At EXPO Dome, Taipei Expo Park, there’s the debut of the authorized illustrations and role creations.

Why did they choose the airport signs? Chung-Yi Yeh believed that the airport is a nation’s façade, when people come to Taiwan from all over the world, what they see first isn’t whether the buildings are beautiful, or whether the equipment is good, but what they need is a guidance that is appropriate, clear, and beautiful, and that is the true “first impression.” He said, actually the original theme was focused on “Design of Airport MRT Signs,” but after they have actually walked through it once, they discovered that the problem isn’t actually that large. However, when they entered Terminal II of Taoyuan International Airport from the Airport MRT, they felt that they have “entered into another world and it’s a very terrible world.” Next, they entered Terminal I, which has gone through renovation, what we did not expect was that while all the hardware and software have been upgraded, only the “Airport Signs” remained as they were 20 years ago. The two immediately decided to change the curatorial theme to “Design of Airport Signs.”

From the features and highlights outside the three exhibition halls this year, only the 2017 Creative Expo Taiwan “Themed Pavilion” at Huashan 1914 Creative Park is presented in a way that’s different from piling up the designed crafts as in the past, but, instead, switched the core concept of curation by issues, where the theme “We Explode in Culture” is thought up by the famous curator Yao-Pang Wang (Pang Wang). “Culture” is no longer a slogan, nor is it a code that’s hard to understand, but, instead, it’s a movement that reflects the society, the emotions of people, a phenomenon that can truly convey a beautiful life.

Aimed at this theme, they hope to discuss this through four facets. Firstly, the most important is the font, which includes both Chinese and English. Secondly, it is the planning of color; we need to define and regulate which types of colors should be in which locations. Thirdly, it is the indicating logos; these are the most important elements in the guidance system. Lastly, it is the arrangement and layout. Font, color, and indicating logos, we need to systemize how these three can be integrated for use and when these are applied to the various levels, they have to be able to be managed.

Just as what Yao-Pang Wang said, “‘Design’ is no longer what you know as design, ‘create” is also no longer what you think as create! Just like our curated theme this year “We Explode in Culture,” “We” represents both the visitors and participants of the exhibition, the momentum of the young generation, their thirst and creation for change, people living sensibly, cross-field cooperation and creation, different interfaces and catalysts, different paths and strategies. These new energy ignite sparks in culture, industry, and design, where in the sensible and actual actions, these become an exhibition.” Therefore, the Themed Pavilion specially mobilized 40 exhibitors to plan three major themes: “6 Sets of Guided Readings” and record the changes in traces of culture in different backgrounds of time and space, so as to sketch out the unique appearance of modern Taiwan together. “4+1 Sets of Issues,” through the participated conversation of different fields, imagination of different cultural paths is proposed. “5 Sets of Selected Products,” where everyday things in our daily lives that can manifest the local aesthetic meaning of Taiwan are gathered through the view of professional product selectors. Through these discussed issues, our creativity can stir even more magnificent sparks.

「文字本身乘載了文化的訊息,而字體又乘載了視覺上的訊息。」張軒 豪娓娓道出字體設計重要的理由。他跟葉忠宜兩人,這次在文博會的主 題館裡,策劃了一個「機場指標設計」的展覽。是個展覽,但也是個提 案,透過提案,激發大家的想像力,然後共同來找出解決方案。 為什麼選擇機場指標?葉忠宜認為,機場是一個國家的門面,當世界的 人們來到台灣時,他們最先看到的不是建築美不美,設備好不好,而是 需要一個適當、清楚、而且美觀的導引,那才是真正的「第一印象」。 他說,其實本來主題是聚焦在「機場捷運指標設計」,但他們真正實際 走一趟後,發現問題其實並不大。但當他們從機場捷運進入桃園機場第 二航廈時,感覺「進入另外一個世界,而且是很糟糕的世界」。接著進 入經過重新翻修後的第一航廈,沒想到所有的軟硬體都變得更好的同時 ,唯獨「機場指標」,還停留在20年前。兩個人立刻決定,將策展主題 改為「機場指標設計」。 針對這個主題,他們希望透過四個方向來探討。第一,最重要的就是字 體,包括中文與英文。第二,色彩的規劃,哪些地方有哪些色彩,需要 界定與規範。第三,是標示圖案,這是導引系統裡最重要的元素。最後 一項,則是編排。字體、色彩、標示圖案,這三者要如何被整合使用, 需要被系統化,這些東西被運用到各個層面時,也要能夠被管理。 「對我們來說,這是一個無形的責任,所以我們希望在能力範圍內,提 出一個最好的改善方案。」葉忠宜與張軒豪想要以此作為一個開始,希 望有人看到了,然後一起來做!

Graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2012. Introduced the Japanese font designer magazine Typography, and published it into Chinese Zi Zhi (Typography in Chinese). Joe Chang: Font Designer. Entered the Department of Type & Media, Royal Academy of Art The Hague (KABK), in 2011 to study font design. Founded TypeTrix after returning to Taiwan, and became involved in font design and font education.

改造台灣雜貨案例 台雜美學的提問

Belonging to the Common People and Also the Most Realistic Questioning on Aesthetics of Taiwan Sundry Goods

雜貨店代表了一種文化,在地的、庶民的、經濟的、平實的、多樣的文化,同時也是一種社會真實的生活姿態。而「台雜美學」則是以一種反向的研究 ,對於台式美學的探索、發現,並提出疑問。這次請來徐景亭、吳孝儒、游聲堯、曾熙凱等四位各領域的策展人,替我們探索新台雜的樣貌。

華山展區 地方特色工藝亮點

Sundry goods shops represent a type of culture, a local, common, economical, plain, and diverse culture. At the same time, it is also a type of realistic lifestyle for the bottom of society. And “Aesthetics of Taiwan Sundry Goods” is a type of reverse research. Questions are proposed on the exploration and discovery of Taiwanese aesthetics. We invited four curators from various fields, namely Gina Hsu, Pili Wu, Sean Yu and Shikai Tseng to help us explore the appearance of Taiwan sundry goods.

國立臺灣工藝研究發展中心 National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute 國立臺灣工藝研究發展中心今年將為臺灣文博會呈現本地工藝能量,透過工藝成就獎作品、Yii品牌、工藝生活情境創造及嚴選八家工藝廠家,匯集 臺灣工藝之能量,讓國際買家、參展商及臺灣創作者共同體會臺灣工藝職人創作力與精湛手藝。

東海醫院負責人徐景亭,她著重在人與場域的關係,所以這次特別以實驗的概念提出「台雜實驗室」。首先 選取一樣物件,再從這個物件去聯想到相關的物件。譬如水果刀就會聯想到砧板、想到筆就會聯想到筆筒或 文具,所有物件在這個場域中,不管是房間、客廳、廚房或浴室,都不可能是單獨存在。而她就裡用這些物 件,透過尺規引導擺放,讓畫面產生比例與配置。

This year the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute will present the local craft energy for Creative Expo Taiwan. Through the works that won the Craft Achievement Awards, Yii Brand, situation creation of craft life and 8 carefully selected craft factories to converge the energy of Taiwan Craft and let international buyers, exhibitors and Taiwanese creators to experience the originality and exquisite craft of Taiwanese craftsmen.

For industrial designer Gina Hsu, she focuses on the relations between people and fields; therefore, this time, she specifically proposed “Taiwan Sundry Goods Laboratory” using the experimental concept. First, select an object, then think of a related object from this object. For example, from fruit knife, one will associate it with cutting board; when one thinks of pen, he might associate it with pen holder or stationery. For all the objects in this field, whether it is a bedroom, living room, kitchen, or bathroom, it is impossible for any of them to exist alone. And she used these objects, through the guidance and placement of ruler, so that the picture produces proportion and configuration. 3.

吳氏設計負責人吳孝儒,他提到材質本身會反映出不同的質感與色彩,而塑料製品在這樣的五金商場裡總是 大宗的品項。在小北百貨裡的紅色,大概就有好幾百種,紅色製品也總是伴隨著如節慶、喜事等傳統習俗。 統整這些有著細微相異的色階,希望在這個梳理過後的粉紅商場裡,提出一項全新的「小北粉紅色票」。 Designer Pili Wu, who has long-term been researching on Taiwan’s cultural codes, totems, and traditional colors, has chosen “Taiwan Pink” as his topic. He has observed that the material most often used in items within the store is plastic-made products, and of these plastic-made products, red is the most widely-applied color. These types of products also always accompany festivities, weddings, and other traditional customs, and have a deep connection with the common culture in Taiwan. Red dustpans, red plastic chairs, red watering cans, and red washbasins, etc., emotions that make people happy come along with each type of red.

22 Design Studio的創辦人-游聲堯,本身是設計師。他提出疑問:「可以使用多久?」歲月不僅會在人身上 留下痕跡,在器物上也是。我們在賣場選擇了物品,除了對於當下的價格和外表滿意外,使否有想過物件在 使用之後的模樣?游聲堯挑選了10∼15件,從小北百貨買回來,而且是他自己想要的物件,去模擬出這間五 件在使用5年後的樣貌,是否會被你嫌惡?或者越來越有魅力?

Sean Yu, the founder of 22 Design Studio, is a designer himself. The question he proposed is: “how long can it be used?” Age will leave a mark not only on humans, but also on objects. When we are selecting things at the store, besides being satisfied with the price and appearance at the time, have you ever thought about what the object would look like after having used it? Sean Yu selected 10-15 objects, things that he wanted, and simulated the appearance of these five objects after having been used for five years. Will you look at them in disgust? Or will they become even more charming? 新銳設計師曾熙凱,則選擇了「給外國人的禮物(歹丸喔咪呀給)」這樣的命題。曾熙凱長期專注自身文化 與國際上的設計脈動,對於異文化帶來的衝擊相當感興趣。所以他希望從商場裡收集臺灣的特有物件,而這 些物件又能同時表現出臺灣與其他國家不同的生活型態。像是熱炒店常見的塑膠筷套子收納夾、精緻小巧的 菜刀兼檳榔刀、透氣摩托車座墊等,讓大家一同來思考這些物件,在不同文化裡,是否有不同的使用方式。

Shikai Tseng, a cutting-edge designer, selected the proposition of “Gifts to Give Foreigners.” Shikai Tseng has been focusing long-term on his own cultural and the international design trends, and has been quite interested on the impact brought by different cultures. Therefore, he wishes to collect Taiwan’s unique items in the store, and these items can also show the lifestyle in Taiwan that’s different than the other countries. For example, the chopstick plastic wrapper storage clips often seen at stir-fry shops, the exquisite and compact kitchen knife that is simultaneously a betel nut knife, and breathable motorcycle cushions, etc., where everyone is able to think whether these items can have different uses in different cultures.

匠心獨運——臺灣地方職人精神 Ingenuity—The spirit of local craftsmen in Taiwan 「工藝」適合的材料、技法爐火純青、具有創新思維的職人,三者搭配,方能成就好工藝。本篇簡介臺灣各地從北到南,苗栗、臺中、彰化、台東 之工藝師的精湛技藝與熱愛工藝的初心。

臺東 Taitung

以敲打、編織、拋磨創造形體,用生命與汗水賦予作品靈魂,工藝品從千錘百鍊的歷程裡誕生,「工藝品」和「家」會交織出怎樣 的生活想像呢?臺東縣政府以「臺東好室」為題,根據「家」的空間與功能性,創造與臺東工藝相遇的一百種美好生活想像。 Forms are created through beating, weaving, and polishing, while spirits are forged with life and sweat; a craft is given birth through a process of repeated tormenting. Using the theme of “Beautiful Room of Taitung,” Taitung County Government creates one hundred beautiful imaginations of life encountering Taitung’s local crafts based on spaces and functionalities of “home.”

A good craft work can be produced if three aspects are complements to each other, suitable materials, extraordinary skills and a craftsperson who has a creative mindset. This article gives a brief view of the great skills of our craftspeople from northern to southern Taiwan, Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua and Taitung, and their enthusiasm about crafts at first.

臺中 Taichung

臺中市政府以「花沁藝」為策展主題,構築宜居花園城市為臺灣典範,採用時尚現代設計風格及水彩的繪畫設計表現,詮釋臺中 工藝達人、設計品牌及創意藝術家們的工藝設計能量。 Using “Flower-infused Crafts” as curatorial theme, Taichung City Government constructs a liveable garden city to serve as the model for Taiwanese cities, adopting fashionable modern design style and watercolor painting expressions to interpret the energy of crafts and design of Taichung’s artisans, design brands, and creative artists.

洪文章 Hung Wen-Chang

陳煜權&蕭明瑜 Chen Yu-Chuan & Hsiao Ming-Yu

來自臺中的洪文章對於金屬創作藝術充滿熱誠,他以生活點滴為素材,記憶 與想像作背景,並結合了技術、型態、內涵等等元素進行創作。2014年成立 谷同金品牌,擔任品牌總監,以鐵鎚、鐵砧與鐵板,將湧現的靈感呈現在作 品上。在過程中,融入細膩情感與思維,構成令人玩味的創作之旅。

由陳煜權與蕭明瑜組成的ZAMAMA,是一個以金工為主要創作素材的金屬工藝工作 室,作品包括金飾、銀飾、錫器、鋁合金染色等金屬工藝創作與首飾設計。 ZAMAMA希望透過創作,將心中對於生命的觸動,利用作品當作媒介,重新展現美 好的畫面。

Hung Wen-Chang from Taichung has a great passion for metal creation. He takes advantage of daily life as materials, memory and imagination as background, and combines elements, like techniques, forms and contents, to endlessly extend the imagination of “beauty”. In 2014, he established a brand called Good Gold, and works as the brand director. With only one iron hammer, one iron anvil and one iron plate, the emerging inspiration can be presented on his works. During the process of constant beats and hits, delicate emotions and thoughts will be incorporated, which subsequently renders a new value to the works and forms an interesting journey of creation.

ZAMAMA, a metal craft studio with metal work as the main creation material, was founded by Chen Yu-Chuan and Hsiao Ming-Yu. Their works include metal craft works and accessoriesdesign, such as gold accessories, silver accessories, tin wares, and aluminum alloy dyeing, etc. ZAMAMA hopes that through creation, the feelings from lives inside their hearts can re-create a lovely scene using the works as a medium.

陳正瑞 Chen Zhen-Rui

臺東長濱人,噶瑪蘭族原住民藝術 家——阿水,喜歡大海的他,在漂 流木中找到自己的興趣,起初憑藉 著想像雕刻兒時生活的樣貌,而後漸漸地開始嘗試製 作傢俱與裝飾品。阿水的木雕藝術有著對原鄉土地的 熱情、對大自然的崇拜,以及對原住民傳統文化的敬 重,他將自己的故事延伸到作品中,並結合異材質開 拓創作新路,以台東糖廠的「阿水工房」作為基地, 如實呈現藝術結合生活的展覽空間。

阿布斯(邱春女) 織布工藝師阿布斯,因 為母親留下的一桿苧麻 Abu Si ,回到部落重拾織布工

Zanum, an original inhabitant of Kavalan artist from Changbin Township, Taitung, who loves the sea, found his interest in driftwood. At first, he did carving to present the lifestyle of his childhood through imagination, and afterwards, he gradually attempted to produce furniture and decoration. Zanum’s wood carvings represent his passion for the original land, his worship to nature and his respect to the traditional culture of original inhabitants. His stories are extended to his works, and different materials are combined to open a new page for creation. Using “Zanum’s Workshop” in Taitung Sugar Factory as the base, the exposition space realistically present arts with the connection to life.

Abu si, a weaving craftswoman, returned to her tribe to resume weaving due to one ramie left by her mother. The traditional culture of Bunun is in line with weaving. In other words, women have to dedicate themselves and took the responsibility of taking care of the family, so they are all familiar with the weaving skill and patterns passed on by their families. Abu si inherited her mother’s skills, kept the life journey and stories of the tribe in mind, and took up establishing “Abu si Bunun Traditional Clothing Workshop”. This provides the women in the tribe with an opportunity to re-learn traditional Bunun floor loom, also the workshop and hand-made lessons can continuously preserve the exquisite craft from Bunun.

作。傳統布農族的文化 脈絡與織布為伍,阿布斯傳承母親的手藝,不忘部落 的生命歷程與故事,著手投入「阿布斯布農傳統服飾 工作室」,這裡提供部落婦女重新學習傳統地織機織 法,同時讓遊客有機會體驗布農族的特色,利用工作 坊與手作課繼續保存屬於布農族精湛的工藝技術。

林戎依 Lin Jung-Yi

阿美族工藝家林戎依,在一次回都蘭 部落的機緣下意外發現了樹皮布,自 此開始跟著部落大哥學習樹皮布技法 ,也向樹皮藝術家沈太木學習創作。因為創作需要以 新採集的樹木製作,林戎依會親自上山尋找適合的樹 材,她運用自然的材料結合現代的元素,透過植物染 為樹皮布增添色彩,創造作品更多元的樣貌,「獨樹 依織 unique tapa 樹皮布創作工作室」是她秉持著 感恩、敬重的初心對待著原住民的生活智慧,也從此 茁壯傳統工藝嶄新的一面。 Lin Jung-Yi, an Amis craftswoman, accidentally found bark cloth when she returned to Edoulan. Since then, she started to learn the craft of bark cloth from the seniors in the tribe and also from Shen, Tai-Mu, a bark artist. As the creation requires newly collecting wood, Lin Jung-Yi would go to the mountain to find suitable wood materials by herself. Making use of the combination of natural materials and modern elements, she adds color to bark cloth through plants dyeing to create more diverse styles. “Unique Tapa/Bark Cloth Workshop” is the result of her keeping a grateful and respectful heart to the life wisdom of the original inhabitants. In this way, she also illustrates a brand new aspect of traditional craft.

苗栗 Miaoli

藏於市井間的優良工藝,可以透過體驗升級,讓文化創意不斷蛻變新生。本次策展以木雕、陶瓷、藺編、原織、植染,分為五大 展區,邀請工藝業者現場展售、移地創作,展現文創產品活力,讓訪客走入苗栗特色工藝的風貌與底蘊。 This exhibition features five main sections, including woodcarving, pottery and ceramics, rush weaving, and natural dyeing, inviting professionals in related fields to come to the exhibition and create works onsite, allowing visitors to get a closer look and deeper understanding of unique local crafts of Miaoli.

張憲平 Chang Xian-Ping 張憲平來自家傳三代的藺草 編織家族,自幼在經緯交織 的環境中成長,28歲那年他 決心投入竹與藤編的世界。 在47歲時榮獲「民族藝術薪 傳獎」(竹編類),成為最 年輕的得主。張憲平的作品 擅長以精細的編結形塑出極 富空間張力的架構,以虛實 對比突顯竹編的鏤空特色。 保留了傳統竹編的精神,並 進一步地突破和創新,將竹 編工藝營造出更大的空間與 量感,延伸創作出更多元且 嶄新的作品。

Coming from a rush weaving family of three successive generations, Chang Xian-Ping grew up in an interlacing environment. At the age of 28, he made up his mind to devote in the world of bamboo and rattan. When he was 47 years old, he won Folk Art Heritage Awards (bamboo weaving) of Ministry of Education, and was the youngest winner. He is good at delicately weaving, which forms a structure with high space tension in his works. The contrast of virtual and actual situation can make the hollow bamboo weaving outstanding, and the spirit of traditional bamboo weaving can then be retained. During further breakthrough and innovation, bigger space and a sense of large quantity will be constructed in bamboo weaving craft. Extending from this concept, more diverse and brand new works can be created.

尤瑪•達陸 Yuma Taru

來自苗栗泰安鄉大安部落的尤瑪•達陸,在29歲時回到部落 向族老學習珍貴的文化編織技藝。不僅織布,就連最基本的苧 麻種植到製線染色等等基本工夫都是她學習的目標,尤瑪•達 陸試著更深入了解部落的古老技術,及泰雅文化與大自然的關係,走訪各個泰雅部 落進行田野調查,蒐集許多失傳的織布技法。成立「泰雅織物研究中心」,更在 2016年獲得文化部人間國寶的殊榮,希望族人可從自身文化裡建立自信。 From Daan Tribe, Taian Township, Miaoli County, Yuma Taru returned to the tribe to learn valuable cultural weaving skills from the Atayal elders at the age of 29. Not only weaving but also from the basic ramie cultivation to lining and dyeing are all her goal for learning. Yuma Taru intends to understand the ancient techniques of the tribe, and the relationship of Atayal culture and nature, visiting every Atayal tribe to do field investigation and collecting quite a few lost weaving skills. She founded “Meta Taiwan”, and was awarded the special honor of Living Human Treasure by Ministry of Culture in 2016. She hopes that Atayal people can build their confidence in their own culture.

粧佛大師施至輝,出生自彰化鹿港,十六歲時隨父親學習粧佛技藝,遵循著學徒 制按部就班的習藝,承襲泉州派家庭式質精量少的雕造模式。施至輝講究神像的 造型美感,透過木雕技藝賦予神像不同的姿態與神態,結合漆線技藝「畫、捻、 塑、疊、盤、繞、堆、安、貼」,完整展現扎實的粧佛藝術的功夫。在快速、便 利的機械化生產時代,手工雕刻的精緻神像反而顯得難能可貴,擁有文化底蘊與 原創力的粧佛工藝,保存著民俗古訓的內涵,值得更多人去了解。

錫雕匠師陳萬能,出生於彰化鹿港,家中以製作錫器為業,從小便跟著父親學習嚴 謹的古法打錫技術,陳萬能的錫雕工藝以「在傳統中創新」為核心,將逐漸沒落的 錫藝加入新意,不僅改良錫器傳統單一的形式,不斷創新材料的運用,甚至在題材 及技法上突破,跳脫過往僅以生活、宗教用品為出發點的思考。如今錫雕作品如藝 術品般具觀賞的價值與收藏的意義,這樣堅持求新求變與進化的精神,開創出一條 錫雕復興活路。

The Buddha makeup master, Shi Zhi-Hui, was born in Lukang, Changhua, and learned the Buddha makeup skills from his father at the age of 16. He learned the craft as an apprentice step by step, and inherited the sculpture mode of using selected materials but providing low quantity from the Quanzhou school family. Shi Zhi-Hui places emphasis on the style of statues of Gods, so he gives the statues different postures and looks through wood carvings. Lacquer thread, including “painting, twisting, shaping, piling, twining, coiling, heaping, settling and pasting”, is also incorporated to completely present the solid craft of Buddha makeup. In this fast and convenient mechanized production era, a hand-carved exquisite statue of God is precious. The cultural and original Buddha makeup skill preserves the meaning of old folk customs, which is worth more people’s understanding.

Chen Wan-Neng, tin carving master, was born in Lukang, Changhua. His family made tin wares for a living, so he learned rigorous old tin manufacturing techniques from his father. The core of Chen Wan-Neng’s tin carving skills is “be innovative in the traditional”, adding new ideas to gradually declining tin craft. He not only improves the form of tin wares from monotonous style to the usage of various materials, but also breaks through the theme and skills and think outside the box of only taking daily and religion necessities as the starting point. For now, like art works, tin carving works can be meaningfully appreciated and collected. He pursues innovation and change, and insists on making progress so that a reviving road of tin carving can be created.

They expect every brand can be “on their own way”, which also has the meaning of initiating a business. The “ke” in “khí-ke” not only represents a homebody but also includes the experts of every industry. They further discuss about the core professional techniques or abilities of every brand and extract them to manifest the technique patent and research and development in the form of exhibition. They help the manufacturers to be on their own way, fulfill their dreams and have planned sustainable developments.

2.青青有限公司 Ching-Ching Limited 「KEEP A NOTEBOOK寫筆記」品牌結合「手作、手寫、手感」的核心概念,將紙的原味與文化重新運用設計力包裝, 讓商品傳遞美學與內涵,並做出「堅持臺灣製造,找回手作的樂趣,更能協助人生的整理規劃。 “KEPP A NOTEBOOK” brand combines the core concept of “hand-make, hand-write and hand-feel” to re-pack the originality of paper and culture with design in order for the products to convey aesthetics and connotation. Besides, they want to deliver the idea “Insist MIT and find back the fun of handmade” and help with life’s organizing and planning.

3.羅娜琳卡夫之家 The Home of Lonalinkav 致力於布農族文化傳承,希望將祖先的生活智慧,延續至生活中。對布農族而言,敲擊棒是傳遞訊息的工具之一。因 過去布農族人打獵時為了互通訊息,往往就地取材拿長木棒敲擊事先約定好的節奏來傳遞訊息,之後布農人加以改良 就演變成可以改變音色的敲擊棒。 Let’s devote ourselves to the inheritance of Bunun cultures. We hope to continue the ancestors’ life wisdom to our life. We will bring the hitting sticks to the exhibition site this year. For Bunun, the hitting stick is one of the tools to pass on messages. In the past, in order to send messages to one another, Bunun people used to use long sticks to make the tempos that were already agreed on to send messages. Later, Bunun people reformed it and it evolved to be a hitting stick that can change its timber.

4.關王刀企業社 Guanwang Sword Corporation 是國內唯一專職研究「銅器」及「古兵器」之企業。關王當代銅器創作,紋飾及外型上展現簡樸的新風貌,充滿「神 仙的浪漫想像」,工藝細膩,外型大器,以威嚴的「神獸紋和雲紋」為題材,為「神祀文化」留下寶貴的文化遺產, 其成器乃國之重寶。 It is the only company that focuses on the research of “copper ware” and “ancient weapons” in Taiwan. The decorations and the appearance of the creation of Guanwang modern copper ware show plain new looks which is full of “celestial romantic imagination” and with exquisite technics and an outstanding appearance. The subject matter is based on awe-inspiring “mythological animal’s and cloud patterns”. They leave valuable cultural heritage for the “deities cultures”. Its complete work will be an important treasure of the country.

5.叢林找工作室 Jungle Find Studio 「叢林找」是以圖像創作為主的插畫品牌,透過東方繪畫的元素與故事寓意,傳達親近自然、回歸山林的理念。產品 的部分目前以創作系列的延伸商品為主,未來將拓展平面形態的設計服務與授權合作、壁畫繪製等營業方向。 “Jungle Find” is an illustration brand that mainly focuses on image creation. They convey the ideas of approaching the nature and returning to the mountains and forests through the elements of Oriental paintings and implied meanings of stories. For the products, now it’s mainly based on the extension products of the creation series. In the future, they will expand the business directions, such as graphic design service, authorization cooperation and mural painting.

一起世大運120倒數 Let’s countdown for the World Universiade 120! 賽場上,除了運動選手相互競技,並追求更快、更高、更強紀錄的同時,另 一種隱形的比賽也悄悄的進行著,那就是他們所穿、他們所拿的材質競技賽 ,裡面的一針一線、每一種質料都會影響到選手們的成績表現,而臺灣,就 是在這個隱形競賽中的偉大冠軍。 「臺北世大運」是臺灣有史以來舉辦過最大、層級最高的國際運動賽會,也 是「MIT製造」在國際被看見的大好機會。世大運倒數4個月之際,「一起 世大運120倒數」活動將搭配臺灣文博會展覽,首度曝光「世大運火炬」等 相關設計作品;並邀請國內外視覺藝術新銳創作者,以「Color in Universiade」為題,設計專屬世大運的作品,並以線條稿方式展出,觀展者也可參 與一同著色創作,為世大運著上色彩,增添新意!4月19日至23日在松山文 創園區,跟著臺灣文創的軟實力,進入運動設計的新世界! On the arena, besides the athletes competing with one another and pursuing faster, higher and stronger records, another invisible competition is also quietly going on, i.e. the competition of the texture of what they wear or what they hold. Every single thread and every kind of texture will influence the athletes’ performance. And, Taiwan is the great champion of this invisible competition. “2017 Taipei Summer Universiade” is the biggest and the highest level international sport event Taiwan has ever held. It is also a good opportunity for “MIT production” to be seen in the whole world. On the occasion of counting down for 4 months for the Universiade, the activity “Let’s countdown for the World Universiade 120” will work with the Creative Expo Taiwan to first expose the related design work of the “Torch of the Universiade”; we invite local or foreign new visual arts creators to design the work that belongs exclusively to the Universiade under the theme of “Color in Universiade” and exhibit in the way of sketches. The visitors can also participate in the coloring to add colors and new ideas for the Universiade!From April 19th to 23rd in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, follow the sofe power of Cultural and Creative Industry in Taiwan and enter the new world of sports design!

卓玉設計

Xcellent Design 從過去製造商出發,進而開創自己的品牌,「卓玉設計」這十多年來以厚實的工業設 計執行背景和嶄新的設計思維,逐漸梳理出自己的品牌性格。與藝術家奚淞老師合作 的「蓮花 華蓋」燈,靈活運用材質與造型做出層次感豐富的蓮花型態,發散的光到 花瓣尾端成為光點,如水珠滴下一般,讓人產生動態聯想,也因此開啟卓玉以「東方 文化」為設計主軸的產品研發。今年將發表的產品「鯤Flying Fish」扣合著莊子逍遙 遊的故事,突破傳統燈具樣貌,築構成一隻大型飛魚,其發光的翅膀可自由調整變化 不同光形,魚肚上的秤錘滑動可向天際翱翔或向下俯衝,展現鯤的各種飛翔姿態。 文博會對卓玉設計而言是一年一度的首發大展,宣示著今年度的產品方向,希望讓留 意品牌的群眾能夠看到他們的成長,也期盼能吸引有興趣的人關注,卓玉設計讓燈不 再只是照明工具,而是能增添生活的意境,也讓光成為日常中最暖心的陪伴。 From a producer in the past to creating our own brand, “Xcellent Design” gradually combed out our own brand character with the industrial design execution background and brand-new design ideas in the past ten something years. The “Lotus/ Canopy” lamp in cooperation with the artist Xi-Song flexibly made use of the texture and style to create the rich sense of multi-level of the shape of lotus. The spreading light reached the end of the petal to become a light-spot. It’s just like a water drop falling, which makes people have a dynamic association in thinking. As a result, it initiates Xcellent Design to research and develop products based on the design principle of “Oriental Culture”.The product “Kun Flying Fish” that is going to be presented combines with the story of Zhuang-Zi’s Free and Easywandering. It breaks through the appearance of traditional lamps and constructs as a big flying fish. Its shining wings can be freely adjusted and changed to different light types. The sliding of the bob on the belly can make it fly upward to the sky or downward, demonstrating Kun’s every flying posture. For Xcellent Design, Creative Expo Taiwan is the annual first big exhibition. We declare the direction of products this year. We hope to let the people who are aware of this brand see their growth and we also expect to draw the attention of people who are interested. Xcellent Design makes the light not just an illuminating tool; instead it can add the prospect of life and turn the light into the warmest company in the daily life.

LINE Creators Market is the platform for global creators; it is also the hottest character cradle now. Since the publication in May 2014 in Taiwan, there are more than 60 thousand Taiwanese creators and 300 thousand sets of stickers launched in Taiwan, creating over NTD 1 billion total sales. LINE Creators Market puts efforts to lead Taiwanese creators to march to overseas markets, to continue to create cultural and creative energy ecosphere and to bring in various creative stickers with buzzwords which has become the subculture of communication. 2017臺灣文博會的Talent100,是花博公園爭艷館的焦點。推舉當年度最具潛力的創作者,由專業領域極具公信力的媒體、公眾平台、公協會組織 等推薦授權領域微型創作者100名,類別包含插畫、漫畫、動畫、圖騰與印花創作、遊戲創作、公仔創作等。以下簡介插畫與公仔角色創作者作品。

2017臺灣文博會再度與三大展區周邊的文創相關特色組織及店家,共同策辦串聯好店 活動,由展場延伸到街區,期盼能夠活絡城市和促進文化觀光消費。在這藝文氛圍濃 厚的四月份,除了臺北市中山區散步路線外,新增了宜蘭、淡水與台中的路線,以串 聯好店密度高的地區為主軸,並配合當地文化特色,提供民眾更多元化且豐富的旅遊 新選擇。走訪各地串聯好店,透過手機掃描QR-code,還有機會抽中多項好禮!邀請 民眾一同看見臺灣文創新實力,實踐「城市即展場 展場即生活」的核心理念。

Talent 100 of Creative Expo Taiwan 2017 is the focus of the Expo Dome in Taipei Expo Park. They elect the creators with the most potential in the year. 100 mini creators in the authorization field are recommended by media with credibility, public platforms, and public associations. The categories include illustration, comic, animation, totem and printing creation, game creation, action figure creation, and so on. Illustration Creating the pop-up book “Two Doors”, the author saw the Terraced House, which is local endemic in the U.K., and had the concept by associating with how two books flipping in opposition look like. The story describes that two men living in different eras pass through to each other’s world by opening the doors.

公仔創作 韓國新銳插畫公仔創作家,一開始為插畫家,後來轉 型為公仔創作,以Kettle Boy為出道作品,再以一系列 療育系的海星公仔擄獲人心,受到海內外的矚目。

Figurine Korean up and coming illustration and action figure creator was a full-time illustrator at the beginning, and later on he transformed into an action figure creator. Different from the traditional facial designs of the LionHeads, the Lukang Fancy-LionHeads have been changed massively with bold colors and delicate paintings; using various paper crafts and knotting, the artistic beauty is demonstrated on the LionHeads.

「偶的家」戲偶文創園區傳承五十年戲偶雕刻製作技藝, 一家人為完成父親(雕刻大師徐炎卿先生)生前夢想,歷 經十二年時間努力而成。這裡一座布袋戲博物館﹐也是全 臺第一座私人布袋戲文創園區。 My Puppets Cultural and Creative Park is the dream of a family which has passed down the crafts of puppet sculpting and fabrication for over fifty years for the belated father, The master of sculpting, Hsu Yan-Qing, for over twelve years. This is a glove puppetry museum and the first private glove puppetry cultural and creative park in Taiwan.
