Thank you for your interest in our program and cattle here at Craven Angus Farm. We would like to personally invite you to attend our 6th annual performance bull and female sale on Saturday, Nov. 4th 2023. This is our 33rd year of raising registered Angus cattle, while it is an exciting time to be in the cattle business, (low numbers and high prices) we know the business is a curve of good times and lean times. Instead of chasing fads and numbers, we are determined to produce cattle that can be profitable to you through the entire cycle. The only way to do that, is to excel in our core beliefs; Quality, Fertility, Soundness, Good Feet, Good Udders, Docility, and Longevity.
Our herd consist of 36 momma cows that we are proud to call Craven Angus Farm. They are expected to give birth on their own, raise a calf on their own, breed back each year, while eating fescue grass and hay, much like most of you do. The open heifers in this year’s sale are some of the best that we have ever offered. One of the highlights is the 2220 heifer who is a maternal sister to the WHS Capital bull at Alta Genetics. All heifers have been repro scored, vaccinated, wormed, and ready to breed.
There are three, 2 year old bulls that will be ready for heavy service. They are sired by Entice and Cravens Treasure. These bulls were used to clean up with this past year at Craven Angus. They have not been pampered and should maintain condition while servicing cows. If you are in need of a big framed, powerful bull to put on a large set of cows then take a look at the 2101 bull.
The yearling bulls are sired by GAR Quantum, Sitz Milestone, Deer Valley Growth Fund, KCF Exponential, and more. Leading the way is the 2203 bull, which I believe to be the most complete,
all-around bull we have ever produced. He has preformed at a high level since birth. He has explosive growth, carcass merit, good feet, docility, maternal value (pathfinder dam) with a bonus of being a calving ease bull. The yearlings have been hand feed twice each day since weaning to gain 3 pounds per day, while on fescue pasture and hay. Each bull over a year old has passed a breeding soundness exam and is a guaranteed breeder, ready to service cows. As you look through the offering we think there will be a bull or heifer to fit your needs, whether it be calving ease, frame, maternal, carcass, or high growth.
We will be glad to work with you on delivery or any other needs you may have, just ask. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones on Nov. 4th. Please join us.
Sincerely,
Henry & Bambi Craven 336-257-0012Luke, Abby, & Josie Lou Craven 336-328-5324
