The canyonlands of the Southwest. I have never seen anything more magnificent than the landscape and rock formations of that area. It is truly inspirational.

Do thorough experimentation to figure out your target market. In some cases you may want to reconsider your target market. Always specialize when possible!

Being able to put my heart into something knowing that there is no upper management to cancel a project last minute. And, not having to live with Dilbert-style office absurdity.

There was no one offering Brazilians, let alone specializing in them, and I saw a need. I wanted not only to be the first, but I also wanted people to feel comfortable coming to us without the potential for embarrassment. Twelve years and seven spas later, I still feel the same way!

Anne Uhlir, a veteran aesthetician, opened the doors of the first Wax On Spa on April 6, 1999. Wax On Spas combine style with a hip aesthetic, with only the most qualified aestheticians on staff. Wax On Spas pride themselves on their customer service and thoroughness. Their specialty is the Brazilian: starting with a blank canvas, these talented aestheticians can deliver the goods, specializing in shaping and coloring.

On approach, the window of the spa reads “Home of the Brazilian: Waxing, Beauty, Serenity”—but that’s not all the spa offers. Services range from as little as a brow wax to a men’s full-body wax. For the less adventurous, Wax On offers the Standard Bikini and can even extend it for a more modern and polished look.
