What tip would you give women who are starting a business? Be prepared to work and work some more! Being your own boss takes more discipline than working for anyone else. What do you like best about owning a business? I like the freedom it gives me to make my own decisions, to step out of the nine‑to-five box and do what I love to do.

Who is your role model or mentor? I have to say my grandmother was my role model; she was the strongest woman I have ever known. She was a forward thinker and one of the best cooks I ever met! She instilled in me a strong work ethic and an even stronger sense of self-worth.
