FUTURES FAIR

Yesterday, Year 11 and Sixth Form students from St Teresa’s, Cranmore and Manor House came together in Mairlot Hall for an exciting and inspiring Careers Fair, hosted across all three schools within the Trust.

The event began at 3:15pm, when students were given the valuable opportunity to take part in one-to-one interviews with a wide range of visiting professionals. A special careers panel was also held in the Sixth Form Lecture Theatre, offering engaging discussions and advice on various career paths.

The fair itself was a vibrant and bustling event, with large crowds of pupils eager to explore potential future careers. Attendees engaged with professionals from a variety of industries, including aviation, architecture, law, football coaching, and many more.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the volunteers and guests who generously gave their time to support our pupils. Your contributions made the event a tremendous success and an unforgettable experience for all involved.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARS’ DINNER

Our academic scholars began the new term in excellent form with our Scholars’ Dinner a muchanticipated annual tradition.

The evening brought together pupils for thoughtful discussion, inspired by our ever-popular Jug of Conversation, which prompted a range of philosophical and thought-provoking topics. Alongside the stimulating dialogue, the scholars enjoyed a beautifully prepared meal in the company of peers and staff.

We look forward to continuing this celebration of excellence next week as we host our Sports Scholars’ Dinner!

MACBETH WORKSHOP

Year 9 pupils were treated to a dynamic performance of company. Presented in a contemporary style, the production was both captivating and thought into the text they are currently studying. The engaging interpretation helped to illuminate key themes and characters, making Shakespeare’s work more accessible and relevant. This memorable experience provided a fantastic springboard as pupils begin their revision of set text.

A Reading from the Gospel of Luke:

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.

Reflection

This week we will certainly have in our thoughts and prayers for Pope Francis who passed away peacefully on Monday 21 April. The world over the coming weekend will gather in Rome to say farewell to this beloved Pope who spoke often of the mercy and love of God. As Christians we are called to be people of the Resurrection and just as Christ overcame death we too can be confident of a world beyond this one. Let us pray for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis and remember the wonderful things he did, said and wrote.

Concluding Prayers

We pray for the soul of Pope Francis. We thank God for his life of service and place him into the hands of the merciful father. May he be comforted and rest in the peace of your love.

We pray also for the soul of Sister Carmel who passed away over the Easter holidays. May the spirit of God who rose Christ from the grave also rise Sister Carmel to new life in heaven.

We pray for all within our school community, as we embark on a new term. May we grow closer to the risen Lord and feel His presence more and more in our lives. Lord Jesus, give us the strength to meet the various challenges we will encounter and help us to find the joy of your resurrec on in unexpected places and people.

Amen
