Gary turned out for South Wales clubs Llanelli and Barry Town during his playing days in the Welsh domestic scene, and was a key component of the successful Barry Town side in the mid 90s and early 2000s. After leaving Llanelli in 1994, he played with Barry until 2003, winning seven league titles in eight seasons, the Welsh Cup and the League Cup four times each. After leaving Barry, the defender spent one campaign in the English pyramid with Newport County, before he returned to the top flight of Welsh domestic football with Carmarthen Town, as he helped the Old Gold into Europe with a League Cup triumph. Lloyd then returned to finish his career with Llanelli, where he won another league title as Llanelli enjoyed one of their most successful periods in their history. The former defender was previously the Welsh Premier League ’ s European record appearance holder, and remains the only domestic player to be called up to a full Welsh squad whilst playing in the Welsh pyramid. Gary appeared for the Town club 300 times whilst scoring 57 goals. He had a short stint as Andy Legg ' s assistant last season. He can now be found pitchside at local club Evans and Williams (Albies) where his son plays!
