OUR VETERANS
OVER 40S
Our 40s looked to build on their opening day victory as they entertained newcomers Hopkinstown at Penrhos. Llanelli went into an early lead on 12 minutes when Steve Davies chipped the ball over the oncoming keeper from outside the box. Dai Hughes then doubled the lead on 16 minutes with a powerful header leaving the keeper no chance. The reds were then enforced into a couple of changes due to injury and the half finished 2-0 as Llanelli lost their early fluidity. They soon found their rhythm in the second 45 and ran riot scoring a further 6 goals with 3 from goal machine Kevin Bartley, a brace from Steve Blackford and a cheeky back heel from Jamie Bowen to run out comfortable winners against our gallant visitors, who to their credit didn ’t stop battling in front of an excellent visiting support.
Our 50s entertained last season champions Merthyr & credit to the Reds give a good account of themselves .at the interval the visitors were one goal to the good by a nick Francis strike. The second half the Reds found it difficult to create any openings more to the credit of a well organised Merthyr team.reds stayed in the game untill the last 10mins before there resistance broke & Merthyr added a further 2 goals. Reds manager John taylor was full of praise after the match saying when you consider we had 4 influential players out after picking up injuries in the 1st game and still give Merthyr a stern test the lads can hold there heads up & we look forward to our next game where we entertain cwmbran in 2wks time

A SPECIAL THANK YOU
FIRST CHOICE FLOORING

A massive thanks to Jason and Joanne Davies who have supported the club since last season as sponsors. After seeing the success throughout the club they were there to support us even more and came up with the initiative to pay for and donate 100 tickets for families in Llanelli to come and celebrate this momental occasion at Stebonheath Park this weekend.
Financial support is vital but going out of your way to support your local club in any ways you can will really push them on and you 'll do wonderful things so please if you are able to do so get out there and help the community!
MESSAGE FROM THIS PROGRAMMES EDITOR
I hope you all enjoy the match tonight. It' s great to see two massive clubs battle it out once again in front of hopefully a big crowd. Thanks to all the sponsors, players, parents, volunteers, coaches, committee, directors and sponsors etc that make this club so special.
With the initiative to invite local families this week our social media hasn 't stopped, we welcome you all and hope you enjoy as soon as you step through them gates and continue to support us beyond this weekend. Thanks all. Safe travels home. Jordan Fox
