Lynn Stephens Moves On

We will also be updating and reprinting the Short Courses Booklet in October so it is extremely important that we know who gives courses so that we may contact them for further information. The closing date for the receipt of completed forms for the Register Update is September 31st. Anyone who sends in forms after that will not be on the printed Register given to buyers.

British Craft Fair Reminders

CCol Product Seminar Reminder The closing date for applications for the CCol Product Seminar aimed at those who wish to achieve the Quality Mark has been extended to September 30th. Please contact Ann Dack, Carrick, Castlejordan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly, tel/fax: 040539053. The venue is the Crescent Workshops, Kilkenny on Saturady October 30th and it costs ÂŁ30 for the day. The two speakers are Deirdre Gallagher and Peter Ting.

Showcase Waiting List Now Closed The waiting list for Showcase 2000 is now closed due to the overwhelming demand for stands and the already lengthy waiting list. No more names will be taken for stands for Showcase 2000. If you are already on the waiting list then our Showcase Co-ordinator, Catherine Jordan, will contact you should a stand become available. For those craftspeople not on a waiting list but interested in exhibiting at Showcase it will be necessary to wait until February 2000 to apply for a stand for Showcase 2001.

Lynn Stephens, the Crafts Council's Retail Manager based at DESIGNyard in Dublin, is leaving the Council and is taking up the position of General Manager at Whichcraft in Lord Edward Street. Lynn has been with the Crafts Council for 3 years and will be familiar to anyone who has had dealings with the Gallery or who has been to her talks for Contemporary Crafts on the Border or the Outreach Programmes Lynn's experience in the crafts sector goes back to the Kilkenny Design Workshops. She then worked for Blarney Woollen Mills, before becoming a manager for Meadows & Byrne in Galway. Lynn is going for a holiday in Bali before taking up her appointment at the end of September. She will be missed by her colleagues in the Crafts Council. We all wish you well Lynn!
