PROSPECTUS

Visiting the Cradle Coast has never been easier with the Spirit of Tasmania right on our doorstep. Getting there is half the fun. The boarding process from Melbourne is simple – with the only luggage restriction being your car’s capacity. Once you head up to the passenger decks to settle in, you’ll realise the 10-hour voyage will be over in the blink of an eye. Aside from enjoying Bass Strait’s stunning ocean views, you can spend your sail listening to live music, dine on Tasmanian produce at TMK restaurant, enjoy local Tasmanian beverages at one of the three bars, watch a movie in one of the cinemas, relax in the reading room, or load up on Tasmanian tourist information at the Tourism Hub. After a good night’s rest, you’ll wake up refreshed and ready to drive straight into the touring wonderland that is the Cradle Coast!

Tasmania’s driving must for those wanting to experience wilderness. Head West and journey along this sealed loop while taking in the thick rainforests, button grass plains, rivers (raging and calm), and wild western coastlines.

Hug the coastline and experience a place where rich agricultural lands meet the ocean. To break up the drive, let your tastebuds travel the Cradle to Coast Tasting Trail and journey between Tasmania’s unique towns and quirky attractions.

Over 200kms sealed loop

Stretch your legs at some of the 20 destinations on this journey: the Trowutta Arch, Sumac Lookout, Julius River and the Edge of the World.

Devonport to Stanley | 125kms each way

• Take the old coast road (Ulverstone to Penguin). • Stop to take a photo with the town mascot in Penguin. • Turn off to Boat Harbour and enjoy its turquoise crystal waters and pure white sand. • Visit the historic town of Stanley and climb or soar up “The Nut”. • Enjoy a bountiful plate, grown in the cleanest air and freshest water, from the earth or sea at one of Stanley’s fine restaurants. Be sure to try the local oysters, Cape Grim beef, or Tasmanian crayfish.
