With 215,000 people in attendance for the Houston Rodeo cookoff event (that’s just the pre-rodeo event numbers!), cooking award-winning brisket is a serious act of love for Covenant Accounting Supervisor, Lisa Davila, whose team cooks for 800 people a night during the world’s largest rodeo. Lisa and her husband have been part of the Big Bertha y Los Amigos team for over 10 years, and they have proudly served amazing food at not just the cookoff, but events hosting special needs children, Harvey Relief efforts, benefit fundraisers and more. Well done Lisa for encouraging the community through wonderful food and fellowship!

No sooner had voters voted down Proposition 112 in Colorado last November, than Senate Bill 19-181 was introduced on March 1st.

This bill would make fundamental changes to the regulation of oil and gas in the state, effectively rewriting the role of the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. The Senate Appropriations Committee voted to move the Bill to the floor for debate.

This bill has reignited heavy debate between industry representatives, lawmakers and activists. If you are a Colorado resident, encourage family and friends to contact your local representative to express your concern over this Bill.

Pete Freeman is a member of our Business Development Team in Greeley in our Northern Division. During High School Basketball season, Pete takes time to serve as the head coach of the Highland Huskies.

The Huskies just finished an amazing season where they came in 2nd place in the state tournament. Their journey to the championship game included a victory over an undefeated team. Our Covenant Family showed up in big numbers to support Pete and the team, and the Huskies did not disappoint.

While we were rooting for one more win, we are very proud of the work Pete put in with his team. Pete had this to say about the experience:

Almost 2 years ago to the day, I decided to become a Covenant employee and it was the best decision I have ever made. This place is truly a family and it means so much to me that everyone has taken me in.

I truly enjoy being a part of this team, and that you all support my other team!

During a recent shift, Jeremy Santistevan, Daniel Cordova and Caine Ruby heard a terrible crash near their location and provided assistance at an accident scene. The three of them jumped into action without hesitation to direct traffic and help get those involved out of their vehicles. They even had to cut a trapped motorist out of their seatbelt. Their actions demonstrated courageous compassion in an extreme circumstance, and we are proud of their work. Well done, guys!

The Capella Award is given by our Chaplains to members of our Covenant Family that use their training and instincts to respond in heroic ways in the communities where we work.

Chaplains Corner “It is what it is” is a common phrase. Usually it comes when the outcome of an event is disappointing and doesn’t match what we had hoped for. Recently, I was heartbroken when someone I know said “It is what it is,” and missed the importance of making a wise decision while seeing no hope in an event that was unfolding.

Easter is a season of hope for many people. One of the ways we as Chaplains want to support you is in your spiritual growth. For the Easter season, we’ve put together a devotional guide including Stations of the Cross and Holy Week. Reading the Guide will help you grow and give you hope by taking a deeper look into an event that ended up being something that was “NOT what it was.”

He keeps situations front and center regularly. He also keeps his team very aware of bad driving conditions, with consistent reminders to slow down, check for weather updates and to check on each other before leaving location.

While at the office of a client, Timothy noticed that a member of the snow removal crew was not wearing gloves while clearing the snow from the sidewalk. It was 6:30 am, and the weather was windy, snowing, and 20 degrees. Timothy gave the gentleman a pair of insulated work gloves from his work truck.

• WE LIMIT DRIVING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND KEEP ERRAND TIME IN TOWN TO 2 HOURS. • WE TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER BY USING GOOD JUDGEMENT ABOUT DRIVING IN HAZARDOUS DRIVING AND WORK CONDITIONS. DRIVING IS THE MOST DANGEROUS THING WE DO IN THE OIL FIELD. WELL LOCATIONS ARE ON SOME OF THE MOST DANGEROUS ROADWAYS IN THE COUNTRY AND WE NEED BK’S TO REMIND EACH OTHER OF THE RISKS. DRIVING WHILE TIRED, UNDER THE INFLUENCE, RECKLESS, OR IN UNSAFE WEATHER INCREASES CHANCES OF AN INCIDENT. BEING RESPONSIBLE MEANS STAYING SAFE. AND YOUR BROTHER IN THE FIELD MAY NEED REMINDING.

With 215,000 people in attendance for the Houston Rodeo cookoff event (that’s just the pre-rodeo event numbers!), cooking award-winning brisket is a serious act of love for Covenant Accounting Supervisor, Lisa Davila, whose team cooks for 800 people a night during the world’s largest rodeo. Lisa and her husband have been part of the Big Bertha y Los Amigos team for over 10 years, and they have proudly served amazing food at not just the cookoff, but events hosting special needs children, Harvey Relief efforts, benefit fundraisers and more. Well done Lisa for encouraging the community through wonderful food and fellowship!
