“DEDICATION” – The quality of being dedicated or committed to a task or purpose. Competitors in our industry seem to pop up daily and most of them disappear just as quickly as they surfaced. One likely reason for their short life is the lack of true commitment and dedication to survive the challenges that arise each day. Over the past 5 years, our successes have been due to the more than 1,000 dedicated team members that work tirelessly each day. The seven core values that we adhere to help to guide us down the right path and while each have their place and rank in importance, dedication is one that I think about often and encompasses just about everything that makes us who we are today. It takes dedicated individuals at every level, from the entry level field or shop hand to the CEO, to make Covenant successful. If we are not all dedicated and aligned, then our challenges to continue to grow will be great. To be truly dedicated to a purpose you must have persistence, diligence, commitment, perseverance, tenacity and staying power. Each of us must ask the question, “What am I dedicated to?” I ask you to think carefully about your answer to that question. My answer in order of importance is (1) God (2) My family (3) My work. Although I may get the order mixed up from time to time, I must dedicate myself each day to staying on track to be successful at the purpose that I am responsible for. Here is my challenge to you! Wake up every morning with persistence, commitment and tenacity and dedicate yourself to the purpose that you are responsible for because Covenant is depending on you. The men on location or in the shop that you work with each day are depending on you. Your family is depending on you to provide for them and to come home safely.
