Let's first start with prayer and knowing what prayer is. Prayer is the human means of communication with God. A key I like to remind those new to prayer is that communication is a two way street. God is not our ATM machine where we just go to Him, say/punch in a code and we get something out of Him. Even with an ATM, you have to have an account set up with that bank; otherwise, that's robbery!
We want to work on your relationship with God to get to know Him as a loving maker and He wants what's best for you. Let's learn to get closer to Him, build a relationship with Him and be able to understand when He is communicating things we need to do as well as petition Him and await His recommended outcome.

You may have heard so many popular sayings like ' name it & claim it' and 'speak it into existence' All are derived from the scripture Romans 4:17 '(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. ' We will give you AFFIRMATIONS for you to say out loud to yourself. Anything you continue to say, tends to stick and you believe. Our first affirmation lets you know that YOU CAN!
List It
There is another scripture that says "Write the vision, make it plain" in Habakkuk 2:2. This exercise of you listing the prayer items will help you with two areas. 1) Making bullet point items of things you want to pray about or want God's help with and 2) seeing the progress of it, which formulates a vision and tracks the results.
Faith It
Sometimes its easier to see what God is doing for others before you can see what He can do for you. We will begin to transfer that so that you know, you are worth God's love too, and you need to just believe Him in your life as well. We will not covet(or seek what someone else has) but will learn to believe God for what He specifically has for you!

Trust the Process
Some of you are thinking of throwing in the towel You think you still don't see anything changing in your life In fact, you may think something has gotten worse Maybe, with the change in you(because you ARE changing) some things have been removed, distanced, etc. Stick with it! Pruning a tree to bear good fruit, sometimes has to have things removed to help it grow healthier and stronger.

You will note a little space given now for you to write down your thoughts a little more. This will help you formulate what is in your mind; good, bad, or ugly and get it out. The reason we waited to do this in week 2 is because we wanted to give you the tools on how to handle these thoughts first.

Congratulations on Week3!! YOU'VE DONE IT!
It's been said that once you've done something for 21 days, it becomes a habit. You've now gotten into the habit of affirming who you are in the Lord; Focusing on what you need to pray for, focusing and increasing your faith, and recognizing what God's done for you already and thanking Him for it. In the midst of that, you've learned a few examples of others who have had some stories to tell and have overcome them and were successful.
The next couple of pages may be helpful for some of the items you may have gone over in the seminar. Use them to help track your spending and get a simple budget started. The last page, may be a goal page on things you want to follow up on and set some mile markers to follow up on: If a job was applied for, make weekly call goals to check the status of your online application and keep track of that. If school was a focus, making sure you put a goal plan in place for what pointers you took away.
