TOWN SQUARE PARK REVITALIZATION

Town Square Park, located in West Laguna (Zone 4), is now complete and open to the public. The 6.2-acre neighborhood park, originally built in 1992, underwent renovations following a design workshop in 2019. The park now features a large concrete wolf, an eagle, climbing rocks, and a salmon. The improvements include all new play equipment with a larger area suitable for children of all age groups. Additionally, new accessible concrete pathways, benches, a shade structure, an adult fitness area, and a corn hole game have been added, along with planting and irrigation improvements.

JERRY FOX AQUATIC CENTER

The Jerry Fox Aquatic Center's pool received much-needed restoration, including the removal of the old fiberglass lining, new plaster on the interior surface, new tile, including lane markers, a new handrail, and new coping around the entire pool. The improvements are amazing, as can be seen in the before-and-after photos. The project was completed just in time for the swim season.

VENDOR REGISTRATION FORM

New vendors working and contracting with Cosumnes Community Services District usually send a W-9, which doesn’t provide much information for Finance to help set up the vendor properly in our system.

In May 2024, Finance created an additional form, the “CCSD Vendor Registration Form,” to help provide all the information needed to properly mail vendor checks and process year-end close 1099 forms to vendors.

BOARD MEMBER RECOGNITION PLAQUE

Effective June 2024, all new District vendors need to submit the CCSD Vendor Registration Form and completed W-9 to Finance so we can correctly add the vendor to the accounting system.

As a reminder, this is the process for setting up a vendor for invoice payment processing only.  The form can be found on the Cosumnes Community Services District Intranet at https://www.cosumnescsd.gov/1132/For ms-Documents , under section ‘Finance Forms’.

If you have any questions on this process, please get in touch with Accounting Manager Nou Her at nouher@cosumnescsd.gov.

We are happy to announce the installation of the Board recognition plaque in the entryway of our Administration Building! This plaque serves as a lasting tribute to the dedicated individuals who have shaped the District's history and progress. It honors the contributions of former Board Members, General Managers, and Department Heads who have selflessly served our community.

The plaque is a testament to the District's appreciation for their leadership, vision, and commitment. It also symbolizes the continuity and legacy of our organization, acknowledging the impact of their work on our present and future.

Next time you swing by the Administration Building, be sure to check it out!

COSUMNES FIRE DEPARTMENT REGIONAL SAFETY DAY

On Saturday, June 1, Cosumnes Fire Department, in collaboration with Elk Grove Police Department, hosted Regional Safety Day 2024 at Elk Grove Park, adjacent to the newly renovated Rotary Grove. Regional Safety Day is a family-friendly educational showcase of fire service, law enforcement, and community agencies. This year, it was made possible through a special sponsorship from Kaiser Permanente. Over 2,000 members of the public joined the fun, and over 30 organizations from various sectors, including nonprofit, government, education, and medicine, shared valuable health and safety resources available in the Sacramento region. REACHAir Medical Services and the Sacramento County Sherriff’s Office provided two separate helicopter landings, which were particularly popular among participants. Eager spectators also saw Elk Grove Police exhibit their K9 unit and Cosumnes Fire’s Truck 74 perform a live vehicle extrication demo. The Department’s Fire Prevention Division (pictured below) spearheaded the planning and execution of this large-scale event, which concluded successfully and safely thanks largely to its team members’ extraordinary efforts. The next Regional Safety Day will occur on Saturday, June 7, 2025, and hopefully draw an even larger crowd!

COSUMNES FIRE DEPARTMENT ACHIEVES OUTSTANDING UTSTEIN SURVIVAL RATE FOR 2023

We are proud to announce that the Cosumnes Fire Department achieved an exceptional Utstein survival rate for CPR cases in 2023. This remarkable accomplishment reflects the dedication, skill, and commitment of our Firefighters, Paramedics, and EMT personnel.

The Utstein survival rate is a globally recognized benchmark for cardiac arrest outcomes. It measures the percentage of patients who survive hospital discharge after experiencing a witnessed cardiac arrest with a shockable rhythm. Achieving a high Utstein survival rate is a testament to the effectiveness of our department's training, protocols, and rapid response capabilities.

In 2023, the Cosumnes Fire Department's Utstein survival rate was 47.1%, placing us among the top-performing emergency services in the region. This is the highest rate the Cosumnes Fire Department has ever achieved since implementing high-performance CPR in 2017. This achievement would not have been possible without our EMS team's unwavering dedication and our community's support.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our Firefighters, Paramedics, and bystanders who provided critical assistance during emergencies. Your collective efforts have made a significant impact, saved lives, and gave hope to those in need.

The Cosumnes Fire Department remains committed to excellence in emergency medical care and will continue to strive for even higher standards in the years to come. We are honored to serve our community and are proud of this outstanding achievement.

This event was designed to be a fun and informal gathering, welcoming our new and returning personnel for the summer. It's a great opportunity for them to get to know other staff members, and to meet their peers in a relaxed setting. Such events are a great way to boost employee morale, promote staff inclusion, and contribute to the overall growth of our District's culture.

JERRY FOX AQUATIC CENTER

Through the District’s partnership with the local Boy Scout troops and their respective charters, the District hosted a pool cleanup of the Jerry Fox Swim Facility on May 19.
