April 2022

Message from the General Manager Here at the District, we value a highquality workforce and promote a workplace climate that is welcoming and conducive to the success of all employees. We strive to hire team members with diverse experiences and backgrounds that reflect our values and enhance our services.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela

District leadership is looking for various ways to promote employee growth and development, both professionally and personally. In recent months, leadership members have been working on materials that support the growth of professional and leadership skills, including in-person training, Vector Solution courses and certificates, and webinars.

All employees are invited to engage in this interactive resource to encourage curiosity and critical thinking across all levels of the organization. Feel free to borrow a book, make suggestions for other texts to be added, and add your own thoughts to the conversation.

In addition, the District’s Professional Development Committee coordinated with the Office of the General Manager to create a space for employees to access professional and leadershipbased reading material. They placed a bookshelf outside of the east break room at the Administration Building (8820 Elk Grove Blvd.) that holds a compilation of books and magazines supplied by District leadership.

Thank you for all you do in service to the community. You help make this community a great place to live and work.
