How Interest Rates Affect UK Expat Pensions

Planning for retirement is crucial, especially for UK expats who have chosen to live abroad. One important factor that can significantly impact expat pensions is interest rates. In this guide, we explore how interest rates can affect UK expat pensions.

Inflation, Interest Rates, and Living Costs in Retirement:

Interestratesplayasignificantroleindetermining the purchasing power of your pension in retirement. When interest rates are low, the returns on your pension investments may not keep pace with inflation, which means the value of your pension can erode over time. This can lead to a decline in your standard of living during retirement. Therefore, it’s crucial to consider the potential impact of inflation and interest rates when planning your pension.

The Impact of High Interest Rates on Pension Transfer Values:

High interest rates can have both positive and negative effects on pension transfer values for UK expats. When interest rates rise, the transfer value of a pension scheme tends to decrease. This means that if you are considering transferring your pension, you may receive a lower amount than you would during periods of lower interest rates. However, it’s important to note that this impact may vary depending on individual circumstances and the specific pension scheme.

Positive Aspects of High-Interest Rates for Pension Savers:

Despite the potential drawbacks, high-interest rates can also bring some positive aspects for pension savers. Firstly, if you have a fixed-rate annuity, high-interest rates can lead to higher income payments during retirement. This can provide a welcome boost to your overall retirement income. Additionally, if you have a defined contribution pension scheme, highinterest rates can potentially increase the returns on your investments, allowing your pension pot to grow more rapidly.

Page 10 | www.costalinkmagazine.com COSTALINK MAGAZINE

In Conclusion:

interest rates play a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape for UK expat pensions. When planning for retirement, it’s important to consider the impact of inflation, interest rates, and living costs. While high-interest rates may lower the transfer value of your pension, they can also bring positive effects, such as higher income payments and increased investment returns.

To make the most of your pension, it’s essential to stay informed, regularly review your retirement plans, and seek professional financial advice if needed.

Remember, the world of pensions can be complex, but by keeping an eye on interest rates and making informed decisions, you can take control of your financial future and enjoy a comfortable retirement.

Five Inspirational Home Workspace Ideas for Optimal Comfort and Productivity

With the introduction of the Digital Nomad Visa, remote and hybrid work schedules are here to stay for many Expats, so it’s important to have a space dedicated to comfort and productivity. Whether your work area is a spacious room, small den, or desk in a quiet spot in the house, these ideas can help you create a space where you enjoy working.

Page 16 | www.costalinkmagazine.com COSTALINK MAGAZINE

1. Embrace Natural Light:

One of the most effective ways to create an inspiring workspace at home is to maximise natural light. Position your desk near a window to take advantage of natural sunlight, which not only brightens up the space but also provides a sense of openness and connection to the outside world. Natural light is known to boost productivity, mood, and overall well-being, making it an essential element for a productive home workspace.

2. Ergonomic Essentials:

Investing in ergonomic furniture and accessories is crucial to maintain comfort and prevent strain during long work hours. Start with an adjustable chair that offers proper lumbar support and allows you to sit at the correct height for your desk. Consider adding a height-adjustable desk that enables you to switch between sitting and standing positions, promoting better blood circulation and reducing the risk of sedentaryrelated health issues. Additionally, using an ergonomic keyboard, mouse, and monitor stand cansignificantlyimproveyouroverallpostureand reduce the chances of repetitive strain injuries.

3. Personalise and Declutter:

A cluttered and disorganised workspace can hinder productivity and creativity. Create a personalised and clutter-free environment by incorporating elements that inspire you. Display motivational quotes, artwork, or plants to add a touch of personality to your workspace. Use desk organisers, cable management solutions, and storage systems to keep your workspace tidy and efficient. A clean and well-organised workspace not only enhances focus but also provides a visually pleasing environment that promotes a positive mindset.

4. Mindful Colour Choices:

Colours have a profound impact on our mood and productivity levels. Opt for colours that align with the atmosphere you want to create in your workspace. For instance, blue promotes calmness and focus, while green enhances concentration and reduces eye strain. Avoid overly bright or distracting colours that can hinder your concentration. Experiment with

different colour schemes, such as accent walls or colourful accessories, to find the combination that resonates with your work style and promotes a peaceful and productive atmosphere.

5. Multi-Functional Spaces:

If you have limited space at home, consider creating a multi-functional workspace that can serve other purposes when you’re not working. Incorporate a foldable desk or a wall-mounted desk that can be easily tucked away when not in use. Choose furniture pieces that offer storage options, such as desks with built-in shelves or cabinets, to maximise space efficiency. By designing a versatile workspace, you can make the most of your available area without compromising on comfort or style.

Conclusion:

Creating an inspiring and productive home workspace is essential for remote workers and digital nomads. By embracing natural light, investing in ergonomic essentials, personalising and decluttering your space, choosing mindful colours, and designing multi-functional areas, you can transform any corner of your home into a haven of comfort and productivity. Remember, a well-designed workspace not only enhances your work performance but also contributes to your overall well-being and work-life balance.

Four Spanish Inventions and Firsts in the World

1. The First Novel was Written in Spanish

Back in 1605, Miguel de Cervantes wrote Don Quixote, widely considered to be the world’s first modern novel. The seminal book is seen as one of the most important pieces of Spanish literature ever written and is a founding work of Western literature.

2. Home to the World’s Oldest Restaurant

Feeling peckish in Madrid? Well, you might want to check out Restaurante Botín, which the team at the Guinness World Records has awarded the title of the world’s oldest restaurant. The eatery has been serving up its delicious signature dish of Cochinillos asado (roast suckling pig) since 1725.

3. The Mop

You probably have one of the most famous inventions in your kitchen closet: the mop. The mop was designed by the Spanish inventor Manuel Corominas, an Air Force engineer who was inspired to design a device to help with housework after a trip to the US in the 1950s. He had observed Americans washing the floor with a flat rag that was subsequently wrung through rollers in a bucket.

4. The Stapler

Although the patent was filed by the American Henry R. Heyl in 1877, the modern design that we know of this tool was imaginedbytwoSpaniardsin the 1930s, Juan Solozábal and Juan Olive, therefore they invented the stapler which helps organise millions of documents worldwide to this day!

Pineapples are a great fruit, but there’s no way you love them as much as the Georgians did! Back in the 18th century, pineapples were imported from abroad, which was very expensive, and so only the richest people had them! In fact, they were SO fancy that people didn’t even eat them, they would put them on the mantelpiece for everyone to admire until they went rotten! Some people even designed their houses based on pineapples, and you can still see some of these houses today!

Do You Have to Track Calories to Lose Weight?

When you first embark on your weight loss journey, just the act alone of tracking everything you eat is enough to elicit a change on the scale. It´s all a matter of accountability. One of the questions I get asked a lot though is…..

Page 32 | www.costalinkmagazine.com COSTALINK MAGAZINE

I’m Tracking Calories and I’m in A Defect But I’m Not Losing Weight....Why Matt?

I hear this all the time, my clients come to me and show me their tracking app super proud with how well they’ve done all week tracking all their calories, but something’s a miss....

We’re missing Saturday and Sundays entries....I ask why, they tell me, well I had a bit of a cheat on Saturday, a few beers that night, then I was rough on the Sunday so I had a fry up coz I needed some stodge.

Ok well, firstly, whatever you had at the weekend must have bumped you up to maintenance calories if you’ve stayed the same weight, if you’ve gained then you went over with what you consumed.

You know it if you’re totally honest with yourself, it’s easy to be bang on during the week when motivation is high, but as I’ve said before, once motivation is out of the window, (the second SUSAN calls you for that ‘glass of wine’) it’s discipline that takes over the driving seat.

You could be 500 cals under each day and on track to lose 1 pound, as 3500 cals would equate to that in a week, but once you switch off at the weekend, it could all be undone. Then you jump right back on again on the Monday as motivation is high and the cycle begins again....

A better approach would be not to deny yourself too much during the week so you’re not missing things and building that craving Which leads to excitement for the ‘good stuff’ at the weekend.

Be brutally honest with yourself when it comes to tracking calories. I even do this myself, I know where my calories need to be to lose weight consistently, but I don’t track things like milk in my coffee, the odd sweet here and there, but I know I have to once I get down to single digit body fat.

I always advise my clients to embark on tracking their calories at least for a couple of weeks if anything to find out where your maintenance calories lie. Once you know for sure how many calories you require to maintain your current weight, you can then put steps in place to creat a calorie deficit. Over time if continually track your calories, you gain the habit of being able to éyeball´the calories in your food, so you won´t always have to track.

The act of tracking calories will teach you everything you need to know about your own habits and your nutritional needs and how to lose bodyfat in the long term!

A lot of the time, if you are honest with yourself, you know the answers to a lot of these questions, it just takes some self awareness and the ability to call yourself on your own BS.

4 Simple Ways to Keep Allergy Season at Bay

Living on the Costa del Sol in Spain, residents may encounter unique allergies due to the specific environmental conditions of the region. The coastal climate, with its warm temperatures and abundant flora, can lead to the presence of certain allergens that may trigger sensitivities in individuals.

While each person’s allergies can vary, some common allergens found in this area include:

Pollen:

The Costa del Sol is home to diverse plant life, including numerous flowering plants and trees. This rich biodiversity contributes to higher pollen counts during the allergy season. Common pollen-producing plants in the region include olive trees, cypress trees, grasses, and various wildflowers. If you experience symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes, and a runny nose, pollen might be the culprit.

Sea spray:

Living near the coast exposes residents to sea spray, which can contain allergenic substances such as salt, algae, and other microscopic particles. Sea spray allergies are less common but can cause symptoms like skin rashes, itching, and respiratory issues in susceptible individuals.

Dust mites:

Dust mites are microscopic organisms that thrive in warm and humid environments. The Costa del Sol’s climate provides an ideal breeding ground for these allergenic pests. Dust mites are commonly found in bedding, upholstered furniture, and carpets. Allergy symptoms triggered by dust mites include coughing, wheezing, and skin irritations.

Mould:

The coastal climate with its higher humidity levels canpromotemouldgrowth, whichcanexacerbate allergies. Mould spores are airborne and can be found indoors and outdoors. In coastal areas like the Costa del Sol, moisture from the sea air can contribute to increased mould presence. Common symptoms of mould allergies include nasal congestion, throat irritation, and respiratory problems.

To minimise the impact of these allergens and improve indoor air quality, here are four simple ways to keep allergy season at bay:

Regular cleaning and dusting:

Create a clean and allergen-free environment by regularly cleaning your home. Dust surfaces with a damp cloth to prevent the spread of dust particles. Vacuum carpets, rugs, and upholstery frequently use a vacuum cleaner equipped with a HEPA filter to trap allergens effectively. Wash bedding and curtains in hot water to eliminate dust mites.

Page 34 | www.costalinkmagazine.com COSTALINK MAGAZINE

Create an allergy-free bedroom: Your bedroom should be a sanctuary from allergens, especially during sleep. Use allergenproof covers for mattresses, pillows, and duvets to prevent dust mites from settling in. Wash bedding regularly in hot water. Keep windows closed during high pollen periods and consider using an air purifier to maintain clean air in the bedroom.

Maintain optimal humidity levels: Controlling humidity can help reduce mould growth and dust mite populations. Use a dehumidifier to keep humidity levels below 50% in rooms prone to moisture, such as bathrooms and basements. Additionally, ensure proper ventilation in these areas to minimise mould accumulation.

Invest in air purifiers:

Consider using air purifiers with HEPA filters to capture and remove allergens from the air. These devices can help reduce the concentration of pollen, dust mites, and other airborne irritants. Place air purifiers in commonly used rooms, especially bedrooms, for maximum effectiveness.

By implementing these simple measures, you can significantly improve your indoor air quality and minimise exposure to allergens. Remember to consult with a medical professional if you experience severe allergy symptoms or suspect any unique allergies related to the Costa del Sol’s specific environmental conditions. Take control of your home’s indoor air quality to ensure a more comfortable and allergy-free living environment.

You’ve Noticed Your Hair Is Thinning… Part 1 - Why, How and What’s Next?

Hair loss and hair thinning are common problems that affect millions of people worldwide. While it is normal to lose some hair every day approximately 50/100 strands is normal, excessive hair loss can be a cause for concern. There are several factors that can contribute to hair loss and hair thinning, including genetics, hormonal imbalances, medical conditions, and lifestyle factors.

Genetics

Androgenetic alopecia is a hereditary condition that affects both men and women. This condition is caused by a combination of genetic and hormonal factors that lead to the gradual shrinking of hair follicles, resulting in thinner and shorter hair strands.

Hormonal Imbalances

In women, hormonal changes during pregnancy, menopause, and thyroid disorders can cause hair loss. In men, an excess of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that is converted from testosterone, can cause hair follicles to shrink and eventually stop producing hair.

Medical Conditions

Autoimmune disorders such as alopecia areata and lupus can cause hair loss, as can scalp infections, such as ringworm. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy can also cause hair loss, as these treatments target rapidly dividing cells, including hair follicles.

Lifestyle Factors

Certain hairstyles can contribute to hair loss and hair thinning. Stress can cause hair follicles to enter a resting phase, leading to hair loss. Poor nutrition, particularly a lack of protein and iron, can also lead to hair loss.

Here are my helpful tips to slow down or help stop our hair from thinning…

1. Maintain a healthy diet: Eating a balanced diet that is rich in vitamins especially vitamin B and minerals such as zinc and iron can help promote healthy hair growth. Foods that are high in protein are essential.

2. Avoid tight hairstyles: Tight hairstyles such as braids, ponytails, and buns can cause hair follicles to become damaged and lead to hair loss. Opt for looser hairstyles instead.

Page 42 | www.costalinkmagazine.com COSTALINK MAGAZINE

3. Use gentle hair care products: Harsh chemicals in hair care products can damage hair and lead to hair loss. Use gentle, natural hair care products that are free from sulphates and parabens.

4. Manage stress: Stress can cause hair follicles to enter a resting phase, leading to hair loss. Practice stress-reducing techniques such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.

5. Treat underlying medical conditions: Certain medical conditions such as thyroid disorders and autoimmune disorders can cause hair loss. Treating these conditions can help slow down or stop hair loss.

Tapas! Where and How Did It All Start?

Legend has it that tapas originated centuries ago when a clever innkeeper in Spain’s southern region of Andalusia decided to serve small bites of food alongside the wine. It is said that he covered the wine glasses with slices of cured ham, effectively “tapa” or “covering” the glass to protect it from dust and flies. Thus, the tradition of tapas was born! Over time, this concept evolved into a delightful array of small, flavorful dishes served as appetisers or light meals.

Sticky Barbecued Prawn Salad

The Ultimate Summer Sizzler

BBQ Season is amongst us, so here’s an impressive dish to add to your repertoire, and create a memorable Surf & Turf moment for your guests…

Ingredients

• 4 cloves of garlic

• 4 spring onions

• 1 fresh green chilli

• ½ bunch of fresh basil

• 12 large unpeeled raw Tiger prawns

• 1 lemon

• olive oil

• 75 ml sweet chilli sauce

• 8 thin slices of focaccia bread

• 2 large ripe tomatoes

• 1 handful of ripe mixed-colour cherry tomatoes

• 2 ripe avocados

• 1 Red Onion

• balsamic vinegar

• 1 lime

• extra virgin olive oil

Step 1.

Light the barbecue and prepare a hot side and a cooler side. Meanwhile, prep all the ingredients so you’re ready to go: peel and finely slice 3 of the garlic cloves and slice the spring onions diagonally into 1cm pieces.

Halve, deseed and chop the chilli, then pick the basil leaves and finely chop the stalks. Pull off and discard the little legs from the underside of the prawns. Halve the lemon.

Step 2.

When you’re ready to cook, place a heat proof pan over a high heat. Add a splash of oil, the garlic and spring onions and cook for a few seconds until sizzling and smelling great, then add the chilli and the basil stalks. After a minute or so, add the chilli sauce and a splash of water, then cook for 5 to 10 minutes, or until thickened and reduced, stirring regularly. Place on the cool side of the grill until needed.

Page 48 | www.costalinkmagazine.com COSTALINK MAGAZINE

Step 3.

Toast the focaccia slices on both sides until crisp and golden. Halve the remaining garlic clove and rub all over the toasted focaccia, then keep warm until needed.

Slice the red onion into thin moons and cut the large tomatoes into random chunks and halve and quarter the cherry tomatoes, then place in a bowl. Drizzle with the balsamic and toss to coat. Halve and destone the avocados, slice the flesh and place in a bowl, then squeeze over the lime juice and toss together.

Drizzle the prawns with oil and place on the hot side of the barbecue along with the lemon, cutside down. Grill for around 4 minutes on each side, or until crisp on the outside and cooked through – the exact timing will depend on how hot your barbecue is, so use your instincts and keep a close eye.

Step 4.

Once cooked, transfer the prawns to the pan of glaze using tongs, then squeeze in the grilled lemon (making sure to avoid adding the pips). Toss a couple of times to coat, then carefully add to the top of the salad, drizzling the excess sauce in and around the platter.

Tear over the basil leaves, then serve with the garlicky focaccia.

The Awkward Story of the Train Wreck DIY

Rosie bought a self-assembly flat-pack wardrobe from her local IKEA store. Reaching home Rosie reads the instructions carefully, counts the pieces then assembles the wardrobe in her bedroom. It looks really great and she is delighted.

Now, Rosie lives near a railway line and as the train passes by, the wardrobe collapses. Undaunted by this misfortune she re-reads the instructions and reassembles the wardrobe. Once more, another train passes and the whole wardrobecollapsesagain.Rosieisnowfrustrated and thinking that she must have done something

“wrong” so re-re-reads the instructions and re-reassembles the wardrobe. Shortly, a train passes and the whole wardrobe collapses yet again for the 3rd time.

Rosie is now fed up, cross and rather angry so she calls the customer service department. She is told that this is quite impossible and that they’ll send along a fitter to take a look.

The fitter arrives and assembles the cupboard. Again, a train passes and the wardrobe collapses. Completely baffled by this unexpected event, the fitter decides to reassemble the wardrobe and sit inside it to see whether he can find out what causes it to collapse. At this point, Rosie’s husband comes home, sees the wardrobe and says, ‘Oh, that’s a splendid looking wardrobe,’ and he opens it to look inside.

The fitter, who had been wondering how to explainhispositioninRosie’sbedroomwardrobe, blurts out, ‘You probably won’t believe me, but I’m standing here waiting for a train.’

7 Groundbreaking Recommendations to set yourself for a Successful Business Start:

1. Make your actions talk louder than your words.

Don’t just say you will do it, do it first and share what you have done. So many people seek for change and improvement, but when they see the cost and time of what it actually takes, they simply procrastinate. But have you ever considered the cost one year from now on being in the same place?

2. Networking.

When you’re in the beginning of your career or starting a new business, this might seem like a waste of time. Do You think sitting by the laptop and “working hard” could get you further quicker? - If you choose to spend your evenings with other successful people and attend business networking events, it can tremendously boost your knowledge and build great business connections that can help you get results and reach your milestones quicker.

3. Plan for success.

Your business tasks and milestones need to be put in place, in the new rapidly changing world - three months in advance. I call this seasonal planning. You follow the seasonal trends by being fully aware of what is popular and what is in demand at the time. This is how you will be able to deliver efficiently and with no hesitance that it is relevant and required.

4. Hire fast and fire faster.

Good talent won’t wait and the worst thing you can do is to take someone on a couple-week interviewing journey. Attend networking events and find employees and trustworthy partners through referrals. It is the safest way to go. Nobody will recommend a person that they don’t believe in or trust.

Page 54 | www.costalinkmagazine.com COSTALINK MAGAZINE
Costalink Women in Business Expert Alexandra Force.

5. If you are not active online, you don’t exist and people easily forget about you. Don’t underestimate the power of social & networking platforms. Depending on your business nature, develop a strong LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook strategy. Find ways how you can be in front of your potential customer’s eyes, organically, and without pressure to buy. Share your business story and how easily your products/services can be integrated into customers lives, lifestyle or improve their wellbeing. What is their benefit of spending their hard-earned money on Your service/product? Put Your Customer Front and Centre! Share as many success stories and use cases as much as possible daily.

6. Align your business offering with trends & events in the world.

One of my last favourite campaigns was a Porches Sakura electric model release. I absolutely loved how they integrated the seasonal flower blooming trend in the colour and marketing of their new model. It was so effortless and beautiful. Find ways how you can align your products with the environment and world events it is applicable and usable in.

7. Don’t try to save costs on your customer comfort.

How do you feel when you walk inside a luxury store and they offer you a glass of water? Or how do you feel walking inside that 5* hotel room and seeing awaiting fruits, chocolates, and a bottle of champagne just for you? Do you feel special and valued? - This is how every client wants to feel! Make your clients feel special, valued, and appreciated. They will become your number one raving fans (will desire to return after this feeling/ experience again!) and will happily share their experience on their social media platforms. This is the most powerful marketing. Less paid adds more organic gestures.

8 Ways to Make Your Pet Feel Like Part of the Family When Living In Spain

It’s said that pets can be people’s best friends, but the relationships between people and their four-legged friends often run even deeper. In fact, many consider pets to be integral parts of their families. From eating and playing together to matching outfits and more, consider these practical ways to make dogs and cats feel like they’re important members of your household, especially when living in a different country such as Spain.

Establish Routines:

Pets thrive on routine, so it’s important to establish consistent feeding, exercise, and playtime schedules. Stick to familiar routines as much as possible, even in a new environment. Maintaining a predictable schedule will provide a sense of stability for your pet and help them adjust to their new surroundings in Spain.

Create a Pet-Friendly Space:

Designate a specific area in your home where your pet feels safe and comfortable. Set up a cosy bed, provide access to water and toys, and ensure they have a quiet place to retreat to when they need some alone time. Making your pet’s space inviting and personalised will help them feel secure and valued.

Page 64 | www.costalinkmagazine.com COSTALINK MAGAZINE

Include Them in Family Activities:

Include your furry friend in family activities as much as possible. Whether it’s going for walks, enjoyingoutdooradventures, orsimplysnuggling on the couch while watching a movie, involving your pet in everyday family moments strengthens the bond between you and makes them truly feel like a cherished family member.

Explore Pet-Friendly Places:

Research and explore pet-friendly locations, look for parks, beaches, or cafes that allow pets and encourage socialisation with other animals. Spending time together in new and exciting places will not only keep your pet engaged but also provide opportunities for them to meet new friends, both human and furry.

Teach and Train:

Engaging in training sessions with your pet not only helps them learn important skills but also reinforces the bond between you. Set aside time each day to teach them new tricks or reinforce obedience commands. Positive reinforcement and rewards will make the learning process enjoyable for both you and your pet.

Maintain Familiar Scents:

Moving to a new country can be overwhelming for pets, so maintaining familiar scents can provide them with a sense of comfort. Use their bedding, blankets, and toys from their previous home to surround them with familiar smells. Additionally, consider using pheromone sprays or diffusers designed to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation.

Celebrate Special Occasions:

Just like any other family member, celebrate your pet’s special occasions and milestones. Whether it’s their birthday, adoption anniversary, or simply a day dedicated to pampering them, make an effort to acknowledge and commemorate these moments. Spoil them with treats, toys, and extra love to show them how important they are to the family.

Seek Out Pet Community:

Connect with other pet owners in your new community. Join online forums, social media groups, or local pet clubs to meet like-minded individuals who share a love for animals. Building relationships with fellow pet owners can provide a support system, helpful tips, and opportunities for your pet to socialise and make new furry friends.

Moving to a new country can be a significant transition for both you and your pet. By implementing these eight ideas, you can ensure that your beloved companion feels like a valued member of the family, even in a new environment. Remember, love, consistency, and inclusion are key to helping your pet adjust, thrive, and feel at home in Spain.

Literal Translation Spanish Sayings

Translated to English!

For Example:

Esa peli es la leche.

Literal Translation - That movie is awesome, That movie sucks

Siempre tengo deberes en esa asignatura, es la leche.

Literal Translation - I always have homework in that class, it sucks

Qué tal el concierto?…Fue la leche, tío.

Literal Translation - How was the concert?… It was awesome, dude

“Ser la leche”

It seems like the Spaniards feel pretty passionate about their milk. There is already a way to swear in Spanish that involves taking a sh** in some milk, but in this funny Spanish phrase, milk can be a positive thing!

To say that something “es la leche” could mean two different things: either it’s really good or really bad. That may seem confusing at first, but there are actually similar expressions in English. For example, when you say something is “sick” or “gnarly”, you are either saying it’s awesome or just plain disgusting. So in the end, it really just depends on your tone of voice or the subject you’re talking about.

You’ll feel a need to follow your calling. Key relationships will need to be renegotiated to have room to “do you.” Be mindful of who you allow into your circle; not all will have pure intentions. Stay open to unexpected work opportunities, a job with travel or relocation. If a trailblazing project is ready for a big reveal, launch it before mid-July. After the 17th the world thrums at your vibrational frequency. It’s a “call to action” to step into your authority and pursue your passion.

Cohabitation or other home matters could be on the table, but brace for speed bumps. Make it your goal to be a “healthy hedonist” with treats that do your body good. Reconnect with relatives or “chosen family” to celebrate your bond. Ready yourself for some long-range planning. Avoid any shortcuts or shady schemes. The temptation to gamble will be strong, but this is ultimately a marathon, not a sprint.

Cultivate your artistic and spiritual gifts and release what no longer serves you. Stay curious and humble, as life could serve important lessons in unexpected packages. When the South Node settles into Libra it’s peak season for attracting a soulmate or taking a big next step with your meantto-be mate. If attached, keep your attention from wandering during Venus retrograde!

THIS MONTHS FORECAST

HOROSCOPES

Libras will find freedom through the right relationships. There’s no denying your urges once the karmic South Node lands in Libra. Developing your personal passions is the quickest way to bring sexy back. Your ruler Venus rolls through your communal 11th house, boosting your popularity. Novel romantic opportunities will be right at your fingertips. The question is, Libra, how experimental are you willing to be? In finances, stick to your budget and keep your sleeves rolled up.

You emerge from a karmic cocoon with stronger relationships and vibrant good health. But before you leap into the spotlight, make sure your game is tight. Polish your presentation and tweak your talents to be competitive. Relationships could turn serious in 2023. Is it time to make this one official? Just don’t forget to have fun, a little lightness goes a long way. The ties that bind need not constrict! Your home also becomes a “manifestation station” so clear the clutter and create a space that attracts abundance.

Your home life will start turning serious and structured. You could buy or sell property, or care for a relative in need, such as an ageing parent or a child who requires more attention. While Venus travels through Leo it’s ideal time for a baecation. But be warned! As the North Node heads into Aries, stretch out of your comfort zone and into the public eye. Keep a sensible budget. With restrictive Pluto weaving in and out of your money zone, stability is as important as visibility!

Aries: Libra: Taurus: Scorpio: Gemini: Sagittarius:

Cancer:

Balancing your personal and professional pursuits could take extra negotiating. Aim to empower, not enable. You may need to do some deep inner work, as not doing so could drive up some shadowy old fears about abandonment, trust and belonging. For some Cancers, it’s the love affair with yourself that feels richest, but don’t wall off your heart! Family obligations could get a bit heavier after the 17th. Don’t fall into the martyr role; you can support your loved ones while also taking care of yourself.

Leo Virgo:

An exciting new career opportunity could be in the making, but you may need more support from loved ones to pull this off. Old issues around power, trust and control could arise. Sort through those before leaping into any financial entanglement or a binding relationship. Brace yourself while Venus is retrograde, you might get tangled up with an ex.

JULY

Capricorn:

Love takes top spot as a romantic renaissance sweeps in. Also, a prime period for fame, so get yourself camera-ready. The company you keep is crucial now. Preserve your cherished lifelong bonds but start moving in some new circles where you can meet those who will open doors. It really is about “who you know.” Bring your generosity to the party and foster a genuine network that helps each other thrive. A sexy summer is in store as Venus simmers in Leo but when she turns retrograde beware of jealousy and lovers’ quarrels. During those six frenetic weeks, you could confront everything from buried desires to a few deadly sins.

Aquarius:

New friendships, invitations and even job offers could come in. You’re ready to reap the hard-earned rewards! Get ready for a summer of love. If you’re serious about someone, or need to renegotiate the terms of engagement, Venus has your back. Longing for the one that got away? Venus retrograde could bring a much-awaited reunion or the closure you need to finally move on. The North Node entry will also boost your popularity to the sky.

Relationship matters become weightier once the North Node enters Aries. You may take on a big responsibility with a partner, like a mortgage, marriage or a lifestyle change that impacts you both and you’ll definitely enjoy the irresistible mojo this newfound nodal energy brings. You could slowly move into a management or leadership role, but stay on your grind! When the South Node settles into Libra you may have to hustle to pay the bills.

Pisces:

An indie business, a new home, a fresh start? Start rising into new levels of self-reliance, there’s money to be made. Pursue your passions while patiently cultivating your sense of self-worth. A secure partner in business and/or love could stand out from the crowd. New friendships and kindred spirit connections can pop up. Branch out! It’s gonna be intense, but also damn sexy!
