How fast the time goes, another year older- but no wiser unfortunately! It really has been a year to remember, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and all the celebrations that went with it, only another four years and she will be the longest reigning monarch that England has ever had…….. Spain won the Euros and England hosted the Olympics in which the first Royal medal was awarded - to a Brit! Then there was the weather – a great summer followed by a terrible fire in the area and some really heavy storms and loads of bad flooding. I guess that just leaves us a bit of time this month for a blizzard to really prove the whole theory of climate change - it would be nice to have a white Christmas! Speaking of theories, the Mayan group believe that the world will end on the 20th of this month, I’m not sure that I believe this, but I might leave the Christmas shopping to the 21st….. If you have any small jobs that you haven’t got round to this year, like mending the gate or cleaning the patio check out this month’s competition, K and M Services have donated a whole days labour to come round to your place and fix, tidy or paint those little unfinished chores. That reminds me – well done to Ron Sibbett who won the Party Party voucher at Halloween, last month’s winner will be announced here next month. One more thing – Eat, drink and be merry...

It’s Christmas...

! o H , A W o m a n’ s W o r l d o H , o H In the beginning...

In the beginning God created Eve, and she had three breasts. After a month in the garden, God comes to visit Eve. ‘How’re things, Eve?’ he asks. ‘It is all so beautiful,’ she replies. ‘Everything is wonderful, but I just have this one problem. It’s these three breasts. The middle one pushes the other two out, and I’m constantly knocking them with my arms. They’re a real pain.’ ‘That’s a fair point,’ replies God, ‘I’ll fix that right away!’ So, God reaches down and removes the middle breast, tossing it into the bushes. Another month passes, and God once again visits Eve in the garden. ‘Well, Eve, how’s my favourite creation?’ he asks. ‘Just fantastic,’ she replies, ‘but for one small oversight on your part. All the animals have a mate, except me.’ God thinks for a moment. ‘You know, Eve, you’re right! You do need a mate and I will immediately create Man from a part of you! Now, let’s see…Where did I put that useless tit?’

TOWIE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL... All the TOWIE girls are fans of speaking

their mind, and Lucy Mecklenburgh has had her say on the idea of Amy Childs rejoining TOWIE. With a live Christmas episode planned, there has been talk of Amy making a comeback, but Lucy isn’t keen on the idea. “To put it bluntly, no, there's no place for her on the show, I don't think she could do it,” Lucy told Digital Spy at her Lucy Mecklenburgh Jewellery launch “She left after series two and we're on series eight now. A lot's changed and we're a lot bigger cast. If she came back, I don't think she'd be able to handle it, if I'm honest,” the reality star added. What do you think, should Amy come back to TOWIE? Is Lucy worried Amy would get too much attention?

PRINCE WILLIAM BEATS QUEEN, HARRY, KATE AS 'MOST POPULAR ROYAL'...

Prince William has been named as Britain's most popular royal in a new survey. The possible future king won 62% of the vote in a poll carried out by King's College London and Ipsos MORI. He sees a significant increase from the previous poll that took place in 2001, where he only received 22%. The Queen comes in second place with 48% in the year of her Diamond Jubilee, rising 9% from the previous survey. Prince Harry is in third place, rising from 7% to 36%, while Kate Middleton is a new entry in fourth position with 23%. Prince Charles - the next royal in line to the throne - has suffered a 17% dip from the 2001 poll, falling to just 21% to complete the top five. Elsewhere, Prince Philip rises from just 5% to 11%, while the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker-Bowles takes 2%.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO LOOK LIKE KATE MIDDLETON?

It's hardly a big surprise that looking like a royalty 24/7 will set you back a bob or two. Now Australian Vogue has calculated the real cost of being Kate Middleton... Looking this good isn't cheap: Now Australian Vogue has calculated the real cost of being Kate Middleton - £102,379. Earlier this year it was revealed that despite the Duchess of Cambridge's penchant for high street bargains, a whopping £35k had been spent on her wardrobe in a 12-month period, but that doesn't include all the costs involved in achieving her preened and polished Princess look. In fact the figure that the publication has come up with is over £100k per year, which includes everything from her clothing for personal appearances to facials, make up and personal trainers. Kate's glossy do is maintained by Richard Ward off London's swanky Sloane Square and her treatments include thrice weekly blow-dries plus Keratin Infusion extra moisture coming in at £8645 a year. No wonder she's got the most covatable hair since Rache Green from Friends. Meanwhile those rich chocolaty tones come courtesy of L'Oréal Symbio and Fuente Organic colour treatments every six weeks at just under £2k every year. Not a bottle job then! The magazine have calculated that the maintenance of Kate's glow would set you back £7,984 in spray tans each year, you just can't put a price on healthy looking skin though can you? And finally the wedding fragrance that the Duchess of Cambridge chose to wear, Illuminum's White Gardenia Petals, costs just under £210 for two bottles. Unless she really splashes it on there's no way she's getting through more than that in 12 months.

The youth of today... It was coming up to Christmas and Thomas asked his mum if he could have a new bike... She told him that the best idea would be to write to Santa Claus. Thomas, having just played a vital role in the school nativity play, said he would prefer to write to the baby Jesus. Thomas went to his room and wrote “Dear Jesus, I have been a very good boy and would like to have a bike for Christmas.” He read it again and wasn’t sure he’d been a good boy so he decided to try again... This time he wrote '”Dear Jesus, I'm a good boy most of the time and would like a bike for Christmas.” He read it back to himself and still wasn't happy. He tried a third version... “Dear Jesus, I could be a good boy if I tried hard and especially if I had a new bike.” He read that one too, but he still wasn't satisfied. So, he decided to go out for a walk while he thought about a better approach. After a short time he passed a house with a small statue of the Virgin Mary in the front garden. He crept in, stuffed the statue under his coat, hurried home and hid it under the bed. Then he wrote this letter.

“Dear Jesus, If you want to see your mother again, you'd better send me a new bike.”

Peggy Sue's Dad...

It's the Spring of 1959 and Bobby goes to pick up his date, Peggy Sue. Bobby's a pretty hip guy with his own car and a ducktail hairdo. When he goes to the front door, Peggy Sue's father answers and invites him in. "Peggy Sue's not ready yet, so why don't you have a seat?" He says. "That's cool." says Bobby. Peggy Sue's father asks Bobby what they are planning to do. Bobby replies politely that they will probably just go to the malt shop or to a drive-inmovie. Peggy Sue's father responds, "Why don't you kids go out and screw? I hear all of the kids are doing it." Naturally this comes as quite a surprise to Bobby and he says "Whaaaat?". "Yeah," says Peggy Sue's father, "Peggy Sue really likes to screw; she'll screw all night if we let her!" Bobby's eyes light up and smiles from ear to ear. Immediately, he has revised the plans for the evening. A few minutes later, Peggy Sue comes downstairs in her little poodle skirt with her saddle shoes and announces that she's ready to go. Almost breathless with anticipation, Bobby escorts his date out the front door while Dad is saying, "Have a good evening kids," with a small wink for Bobby. About 20 minutes later, a thoroughly disheveled Peggy Sue rushes back into the house, slams the door behind her and screams at her father: "DAMMIT DADDY! THE TWIST!!! IT'S CALLED THE TWIST!!!

THE PERFECT COUPLE Once upon a time, a perfect man and a perfect woman met. After a perfect courtship, they had a perfect wedding. Their life together was, of course, perfect. One snowy, stormy Christmas Eve, this perfect couple was driving their perfect car along a winding road, when they noticed someone at the side of the road in distress. Being the perfect couple, they stopped to help. There stood Santa Claus with a huge bundle of toys. Not wanting to disappoint any children on the eve of Christmas, the perfect couple loaded Santa and his toys into their vehicle. Soon they were driving along delivering the toys. Unfortunately, the driving conditions deteriorated and the perfect couple; and Santa Claus had an accident. Only one of them survived the accident. Question: Who was the survivor? Answer: The perfect woman survived. She's the only one who really existed in the first place. Everyone knows there is no Santa Claus and there is no such thing as a perfect man. **** Women stop reading here, that is the end of the joke. Men keep going. So, if there is no perfect man and no Santa Claus, the woman must have been driving. This explains why there was a car accident in the first place.

'History' of the world Here are some great albeit unbelievable history blunders from students throughout the United States submitted by their teachers, from eighth graders through college freshman level. Read carefully, and you will learn a lot. • The inhabitants of Ancient Egypt were called mummies. They lived in the Sarah Dessert and traveled by Camelot. The climate of the Sarah is such that the inhabitants have to live elsewhere, so areas of the dessert are cultivated by irritation. The Egyptians built the Pyramids in the shape of a huge triangular cube. The Pyramids are a range of mountains bet ween France and Spain. • The Bible is full of interesting caricatures. In the first book of the Bible, Guinesses, Adam and Eve were created from an apple tree. One of their children, Cain, once asked, "Am I my brother’ s son?" God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac on Mount Montezuma. Jacob, son of Isaac, stole his brother’ s birth mark. Jacob was a patriarch who brought up his 12 sons to be patriarchs, but they did not take to it. One of Jacob’ s sons, Joseph, gave refuse to the Israelites. • Pharaoh forced the Hebrew slaves to make bread without straw. Moses led them to the Red Sea, where they made unleavened bread, which is bread made without any ingredients. After ward, Moses went up on Mount Cyanide to get the 10 commandments. David was a Hebrew king skilled at playing the liar. He fought with the Philatelists, a race of people who lived in Biblical times. Solomn, one of David’ s sons, had 500 wives and 500 porcupines. Winter walks...

Now the winter days are closing in and the temperatures are dropping our thoughts will be turning to keeping ourselves and our pets warm & safe whilst walking " out & about" particularly up in the hills & mountains. Hypothermia is basically when the body's temperature drops and it is unable to maintain its normal temperature. The 3 external things that could cause this are obviously:

The air temperature | The wind chill | The wet

So before you set out on a "trek" check the weather forecast, plan your time, your route; as well as keeping a watchful eye on your animals. If your dogs coat is wet then his body temperature will lower a lot quicker than if it was dry, so try to feel your dog at regular intervals and if your dog feels cold to the touch it probably is! Do not just think that if your dog is hairy it will protect it from the wet, sometimes it is quite the opposite. Sometimes if your dogs coat is matted complete with a lot of dead hair then it will actually act as a sponge Think of it like wrapping yourself in a wet quilt !! Remember to look out for the first signs of hypothermia:

Weakness |Shivering | Lack of mental awareness

If your dog is wet, take your dog out of danger dry it off as quickly as possible & warm it up before it gets any worse. Enjoy your winter walks but remember to take extra care. Wishing all our furry friends a Healthy Happy Christmas & Wonderful 2013 from www.poshpetsspain.com xx

Osteoarthritis of the Ankle Joint - The Total Joint Replacement

Osteoarthritis or joint degeneration of the lower extremity is mainly located in the hip or knee joint area. Yet due to increasing activity levels, largely in the younger years of life, the necessity for treating degenerative lesions of the ankle joint has gained great importance. When taking a closer look, it clearly appears that arthritis of the ankle joint is a frequent orthopaedic problem and requires a detailed analysis in order to choose the correct treatment plan.

surgery, the long term results of these prosthesises are very good with promising tendency. The surgical procedure itself is technically demanding and definitely not routine, but with an experienced surgeon with specific knowledge of the details that are required with this implant, and a post surgical evolution without complications, the successful duration of this implant can easily be compared with a total knee joint replacement.

Due to the development of new anatomic implants and surgical instruments in the past years, loosening of the prosthesis after implantation has significantly decreased and 10 year follow - up studies show encouraging results: four out of five ankle prosthesis still work perfectly 10 years after implantation! The latest designs of the existing models have a special surface in common and are normally implanted in the bone without the use of cement. In case of an early loosening it is not always necessary to exchange the whole prosthesis, very often it is enough to remove and replace a single component.

Apart from the well known general risk factors that lead to osteoarthritis, it is mainly injuries of the ankle joint area that consequently destroy the ankle joint in the long run. One of the most frequent injuries in sports is the typical rupture of the lateral ankle joint ligaments, as well as fractures in the joint area. Insufficient treatment of the soft tissues can lead to repetitive injuries and finally to a chronic instability of the ankle joint. This eventually results in premature osteoarthritis. Fractures of the ankle joint are very dangerous because they can interfere with the finely tuned In my opinion the most important advantage of this biomechanical function of the ankle and can also lead surgery is maintaining the natural and anatomical to an early joint degeneration. range of motion of the ankle joint, with a prosthesis Approximately 50% of joint fractures and 20% of liga- and consequently a physiological distribution of load ment injuries of the ankle result in premature arthritis and forces during everyday activity of the patient. and demand orthopaedic In case of an implant loosening after some years, the treatment. In this situation the only surgical option until now that offered pain relief has been the arthrodesis, or in other words, the surgical immobilization of the ankle joint. Many patients avoid undergoing this definite surgery and suffer on with a significant limitation of their activity level. But in the last couple of years there is now a genuine and approved surgical alternative: the implantation of a total ankle joint prosthesis. In medical centres with an emphasis on foot and ankle 40

Health & Well Being

BOOST YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM THIS WINTER... EASY WAYS TO STAY HEALTHY AND KEEP BUGS AND BACTERIA AT BAY...

As we kiss goodbye to the summer and dig out the winter coat and Ugg boots, it’s not just the chill in the air that we’re preparing for, but the annual onslaught of the common cold and flu. SLEEP MORE: Sleeping seems like far too easy a solution to staving off the winter ills but giving your body the chance to reboot is one of the most effective ways of building your energy and giving your infection-fighting cells the chance to replenish. Lack of sleep suppresses your immune system making you more vulnerable to infections and metabolic and hormone changes. Of course trying to sleep more and actually doing it are two very different things, but going to bed and getting up at roughly the same time will help (even at weekends!), as well sticking to a regular pre-bed routine. DRINK LESS: The good news is that one or two drinks won’t cause your body too much distress. But drinking more than three on a regular basis does you no favours when you’re trying to stay cold-free. Ignore those old wives’ tales about booze beating bacteria; too much alcohol actually suppresses the body’s ability to fight bacteria and viruses. WASH YOUR HANDS: There’s a reason for all those signs in public toilets telling you to wash your hands - they carry millions of bacteria that can stay alive for up to three hours. Reducing our contact with bacteria picked up in day to day life, by things such as hot-desking or just getting on a bus, is hugely beneficial. The best way to do this? Simply wash your hands regularly and if you’re out and about, carry an anti-bacterial gel that will sanitise your hands without the need for water. EAT WELL: When the days get shorter and there’s a chill in the air, the desire for a salad seems to disappear with the rays of the sun. But eating hearty, comforting food will do no harm to the immune system, as long as it’s also rich in the nutrients we need.

A HEART WARMING CHRISTMAS TALE

Bill worked for the Post Office his job was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses. One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God in Heaven (no PO box number or anything). He thought he should open it to see what it was about. The letter read; “Dear God, I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had £100 in it, all the money I had until my next pension day. Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with, I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope. Can you please help me? Sincerely, Edna.” Bill was so touched. He showed the letter to all his other colleagues. Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few pounds. By the time he made the rounds, he had collected £96, they put into an envelope and sent to the woman. The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the Christmas dinner she would be able to share with her friends. Christmas came and went. A few days later, another letter came from the same old lady to God. All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened. It read: “Dear God, How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your gift of love, I was able to serve a glorious dinner for my friends. We had a lovely day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift. By the way, there was £4 missing. I think it might have been those b##@##ds at the post office! Sincerely, Edna”

APPARENTLY I WAS WRONG... • At the Senior Citizens Centre they had a contest the other day. I lost by one point. The question was, “where do women mostly have curly hair”? Apparently, the correct answer was Africa. • I've heard that Apple has scrapped their plans for the new children's iPod after realising that iTouch Kids is not a good product name. • You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles but at least they drive slowly past schools. • A buddy of mine has just told me he's getting it on with his girlfriend and her t win. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache." • Just put a deposit down on a brand new Porsche and mentioned it on Facebook. I said, "I can't wait for the new 911 to arrive!" Next thing I know 4,000 terrorists have added me as a friend!! • Being a modest man, when I checked into my hotel on a recent trip, I said to the lady at the registration desk, "I hope the porn channel in my room is disabled." To which she replied, "No, it's regular porn, you sicko. •A buddy of mine has just told me he's getting it on with his girlfriend and her t win. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache."

A Politically Correct Seasons Greeting‌

From us ("the wishor") to you ("hereinafter called the wishee") Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, secular practices of your choice, or with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2012 of the common era, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures, nor without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, IQ, chronological status, mental deficiencies, religious faith, or sexual preference or practices of the wishee.

By accepting this greeting, you are agreeing to these terms: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wishers.

This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wishers. All taxes are the responsibility of the wishee, and the decision of a panel of arbitrators is final in the event of a dispute. In spite of being advised that the above small print should be included, we will content ourselves with: !! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !!

Any references in this greeting to "the Lord", "Father Christmas", "Our Saviour", or any other festive figures, whether actual or fictitious, dead or alive, shall not imply any endorsement by or from them in respect of this greeting, and all proprietary rights in any referenced third party names and images are hereby acknowledged.

'History' of the world • Without the Greeks we wouldn’ t have history. The Greeks invented three kinds of columns - Corinthian, Doric and Ironic. They also had myths. A myth is a female moth. One myth says that the mother of Achilles dipped him in the River Stynx until he became intollerable. Achilles appears in the Illiad, by Homer. Homer also wrote The Oddity, in which Penelope was the last hardship that Ulysses endured on his journey. Homer was not written by Homer but by another man of that name.

’t n o c

• Socrates was a famous Greek teacher who went around giving people advice. They killed him. Socrates died from an overdose of wedlock. • In the Olympic Games, Greeks ran races, jumped, hurled the biscuits and threw the java. The reward to the victor was a coral wreath. The government of Athens was democratic because people took the law into their own hands. There were no wars in Greece, as the mountains were so high that they couldn’ t climb over to see what their neighbors were doing. When they fought with the Persians, the Greeks were outnumbered because the Persians had more men. • Eventually, the Ramons conquered the Geeks. History calls people Romans because they never stayed in one place for very long. At Roman banquets, the guests wore garlics in their hair. Julius Caesar extinguished himself on the battlefields of Gaul. The Ides of March murdered him because they thought he was going to be made king. Nero was a cruel tyranny who would torture his poor subjects by playing the fiddle to them.

We are used to fairly “normal” cars taking us home after the Christmas party but how do people get home in other parts of the world? In a world of city cars and high fuel prices this may be the way to go This BMW Isetta is in service in Michigan in The US. Jakarta, Indonesia has a fleet of Luxury taxis – here are a Porsche Boxster and a Ferrari 360

The Ferrari Enzo Taxi in Oman has to be one of the most expensive rides in the world –surely? Everything In Houston, Texas seems to be oversized, the driver of this cab must be glad that fuel is so much cheaper there!

The recent rise in millionaires in Russia has lead to a whole new breed of taxis in Moscow, just look at this Taxi rank – a Maybach and two highly modified Porsche Cayennes are waiting to pick up their next fares. 56

Costa link recently visited the new ultra trendy bar IGLÚ CHILL LOUNGE. Over the past 10 years we have seen so many new businesses start up many of them have been ordinary bars of one type or another; IGLÚ Chill Lounge offers something quite different to the norm and the owners have managed to combine an ultra trendy nightspot with a warm friendly atmosphere.

Situated in the up and coming destination point of El Pilar directly opposite the Crown Plaza Hotel and adjacent to the top class Indian restaurant The Masala, IGLÚ CHILL LOUNGE opened their doors on the 1st of June this year, the opening was unpublicized yet over 500 people turned up and the evening was a roaring success, if a little chaotic! Parking is free and access is easy straight off the N340 Km168 .

Since opening IGLÚ has been a huge success with every seat and sofa filled with glamorous guests and some well-known celebrities. The chic stylish decor is stunning and the wine and cocktail lists superb, all at reasonable "out of town" prices! Continuing their success throughout the winter season IGLÚ are still attracting 58

•“What is your relationship with the plaintiff?” “She is my daughter.” “Was she your daughter on February 13, 1979?”

•“…and what did he do then? He came home, and next morning he was dead. So when he woke up the next morning he was dead?” •Doing 120 in a 65, he knew he was in trouble when the police pulled in behind him with the roof lights on. Figuring he could just lose the cop he floored the Ferrari. 130, 140, and still the cop was right on his tail. 170, 180, still could not lose the police car. Giving up he pulled over. The officer approached the car,” Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t give you the biggest ticket this world has ever seen” “Well, he stated, “Just last week my wife ran off with a police man.” “SO WHAT!!!” the cop screamed. “Well, I thought you were trying to bring her back.”

HA,HA,HE,HE... SNOWMEN: Two snowmen chatting, one says to the other... "Can you smell carrots?"

Downsizing: Five cannibals get appointed as programmers in an IT company. During the welcoming ceremony the boss says: "You're all part of our team now. You can earn good money here, and you can go to the company canteen for something to eat. So don't trouble the other employees". The cannibals promise not to trouble the other employees. Four weeks later the boss returns and says: "You're all working very hard, and I'm very satisfied with all of you. One of our cleaners has disappeared however. Do any of you know what happened to her?" The cannibals disavow all knowledge of the missing cleaner. After the boss has left, the leader of the cannibals says to the others: "Which of you idiots ate the cleaner?" A hand raises hesitantly, to which the leader of the cannibals says: "You fool! For four weeks we've been eating Team Leaders, Managers, Principal Advisors and Project Managers so no-one would notice anything, and you have to go and eat the cleaner!" DOWN AT THE GYM: "I said to the gym teacher: 'Can you teach me to do the splits?' He said: 'How flexible are you?' I said: 'I can't make Tuesdays.'"

Cancer

Leo

Virgo

Libra

Scorpio

Sagittarius

Cancer, the major influence this month continues to be the from Saturn bringing a sense of stability and security to your life. The patience and determination brought to you by Saturn will help you face any obstacles from the Sun opposite your sign from the 21st to 31st of December 2012. This transit, which you always face at this time of year, six months from your birthday, is like a period of reflection where you look back on how your goals and plans have been progressing. What often prompts this is challenges from other people, testing of your authority or character. This time around you should be satisfied with your accomplishments and see them as a solid base on which to build. The December 28th full moon falls in your sign making you more emotional than usual. You could take on a more responsible role within the family and give more structure and a greater sense of security to your loved ones.

Leo, the November 28th lunar eclipse sets you up for a good December with a more relaxed attitude to life and less stress. Mercury is in your sign from the 11th to the 18th of Dec. All your relationships should be more harmonious now, increasing the interaction with more open and friendly communication. Venus is bringing you love from December 16th to 24th. Look forward to more affection and attention during this time from not only lovers but also friends and family. This is also a good time for buying gifts, especially around the 19th with Venus & Uranus in the sky. The 19th also brings the chance of meeting someone new if you are single, you’ll feel and look very beautiful and sparky. Your energy levels begin to rise from December 26th. Help from Mars & Uranus on the 31st helps channel this primal lusty energy into party mode, excellent timing!

Virgo, strength, confidence, initiative and strong desires comes with Mars in your sign from Dec 1st to 13th. If you have to get things done then the first part of this month is the time to do it. Venus and Mars enter your sign in the first week making you extremely attractive and sexy, passionate and loving. Existing relationships should be most enjoyable, and if you are looking for someone new then put yourself out there because you will attract the right kind of person for you physically and emotionally. Mercury brings scattered thinking from the 18th to 25th of December this will be a very hectic time for you. I would advise getting your Christmas shopping done before this transit if you can because that would just add to the mental stress. Dec 23rd until new years day Venus brings calm you feel like taking it easy rather than working. So hopefully you do get the chance to have a little holiday now. Libra, from Dec 1st to 13th you have two transits which have very different effects. Firstly, the Sun brings a very positive vibe and gives self confidence indicating very smooth relationships, with low stress and few obstacles in your path. However, Mars in your sign at the same time can cause anger and frustration because of other people challenging you. Put these two together and you should be feeling very competitive with a strong urge to have your desires and goals fulfilled. Sexual tension in relationships may also arise but could be worked out in a positive manner through some fun and games. The rest of the month is much more straight forward and very supportive of a most enjoyable Christmas. From December 23rd till new years day Venus brings you a perfect time for relaxing and sharing quality time with loved ones. Totally excellent timing and this transit will allow you to enjoy this special time.

Scorpio, you have an excellent month ahead with most of the action occurring in the first two weeks of December. From the 1st to 13th Mars will give you a feeling of strength and boost your energy level. You can be very direct and assertive in chasing your goals, and you should know what you desire and how to get it. This feeling of confidence will have a very positive effect in your professional life because others will appreciate your enthusiasm and energy. Mars is physical, so you will be magnetically attractive, looking and feeling hot. Venus passing through your sign means you will also have the other important ingredient for relationships, tenderness and affection. This is a wonderful combination so all kinds of relationships should be very enjoyable now. You outgoing nature is ideal for socialising and you will have the initiative to meet new people, and any new relationships would get off to a passionate and flying start.

Sagittarus, you should have a happier than normal birthday this year with the new moon falling in your sign. So the focus on you and your goals for they year ahead is given more impetus and you should have a great burst of energy and initiative and more optimism about the future. This really is like a complete new start for you, giving the ability to express your true identity with greater confidence and more power and authority. Any new project you wish to start in the year ahead should have a good chance of success, thanks to a strong focus, fixation even, on the path ahead. The goal setting and planning will be the focus Mercury in your sign from the 25th to 31st of December 2012. This Mercury transit is also an indicator of a very busy time, so you can expect to do a lot of visiting this Christmas, organising, shopping, or just spending this time having pleasant chats with friends and family.

International tourism is proving to be resilient in the current global economic turmoil. According to the UN World Tourism Organisations latest figures, last year there were 983m international arrivals, which is a 4.6% increase on the year before. This year has started even better, with expectations of topping one billion arrivals by year end.

The United States and Spain top the charts in receipts from tourism, with $116.3 bn and $59.9bn respectively last year (see chart below). The UK was 7th with $35.9bn, with this years figures likely to be boosted due to the Olympic games.

Although Spain is the biggest earner in Europe in terms of tourism receipts, France has a far higher number of arrivals. France is in fact the global leader in terms of number of visitors with 79.5 million last year beating the US (62.3mn), China (57.6mn), and Spain (56.7mn). In 2011, Europe exceeded expectations with 6% growth in international tourist arrivals, making it the fastest-growing region together with Asia and the Pacific. Despite persistent economic uncertainty, tourist arrivals to Europe reached 504 million in 2011, accounting for 29 million of the 43 million additional international arrivals recorded worldwide.

In terms of who spends the most when abroad, the figures are perhaps a reflection of their economic situation. Germany tops the global charts for spending on travel and tourism with $84.3bn last year, followed by the US with $79.1bn, China $72.6bn, and the UK $50.6bn. Spain does not feature in the top 10 of global travel and tourism spenders.

All Eyes back on Greece!!

Will they or wont they? EU Finance Ministers, the IMF and the European Central Bank failed to reach a decision over Greece and how to manage the country's debt, down to a sustainable level, this is the second time they have met, so guess what? they will be meeting again (third times a charm) to see if they can get any further. One of the ideas that has been banded about is for Greece to buy back up to â‚Ź40bn of its own bonds at a discounted rate, they will obviously use borrowed money with interest to buy back its own bonds - how does that work and what use will it be?? The UK economy is not looking that bright either, Inflation is going up and consumer spending is down, wages have not risen, Food, utilities and University fees are all up, the number of unemployed in the UK has risen with an additional 10,100 claiming unemployment benefit. The UK high street is having a really tough time, with a record number of empty shops closing in October, major contributing factors for these closures are rising costs, online sales. France's has lost its triple A credit rating by another credit ratings agency, this had relatively or no impact on the currency markets.

i can explain...

Clients were asked for a brief statement describing their particular car accident, and this is what they wrote. •My car was legally parked as it backed into the other vehicle. •The pedestrian had no idea which direction to go, so I ran him over. •The other car collided with mine without giving warning of its intention. •A pedestrian hit me and went under my car. •An invisible car came out of nowhere, struck my vehicle & vanished. •I pulled away from the side of the road, glanced at my mother-in-law and headed over the embankment. •The accident occured when I was attempting to bring my car out of a skid by steering it into the other vehicle. •The telephone pole was approaching fast. I was attempting to swerve out of its path when it struck my front end. •I thought my window was down but found it was up when I put my hand through it. •To avoid hitting the bumper of the car in front, I struck the pedestrian. •I saw the slow-moving, sad-faced old gentleman as he bounced off the bonet of my car. •Coming home, I drove into the wrong house and collided with a tree I don’t have. •The indirect cause of this accident was a little guy in a small car with a big mouth.

Butter a 22 x 31cm or similar Swiss roll tin, then line with buttered baking paper. Tip in 1 tbsp cocoa, turn the tin until it's evenly coated, then tap out any excess. 2) For the sponge, beat the eggs and sugar with electric beaters for 7 mins, or until thick enough to hold a trail. Fold in flour and cocoa, then swirl in butter and fold through. Tip into the tin, bake for 10 mins until just firm, then cool under a clean tea towel. 3) For the mousse, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until thick and pale. Melt the chocolate and loosely whip the cream until it just holds its shape. Quickly beat half the cream and all of the chocolate into the egg mix, then gently fold in the rest of the cream. Whisk the egg whites until softly peaked, then fold in. 4) Grease a 1.4 litre/2½ pint basin with a little oil. Line with cling film, letting it overhang. To build the pudding, cut a circle of sponge to fit the bottom of the basin and put it in. Cut seven sloping rectangles about 10cm long from the sponge and fit them tightly together around the bowl. Sprinkle with most of the coffee and Tia Maria mix. Fill the bowl halfway with the mousse then, using what's left of the sponge, top the mousse with a snug-fitting circle of cake. Sprinkle with remaining coffee mix. Spoon in the rest of the mousse, then cover with the overhanging cling film. Chill for at least 4 hrs until firm (ideally overnight), then turn onto a plate. 5) For the topping, heat all the ingredients gently in a bowl over a pan of simmering water until the chocolate melts. Leave to cool, stirring occasionally, until thick and glossy. Spread all over the turned-out pudding, then top with the chocolatecoated cocoa beans and chocolate curls.oil and seasoning, then roast for 30 mins until golden and tender.
