COMING WINTER 2025: Ursula Meyer Library & Community Center

Exciting things are taking shape in Northeast Stockton! Construction is in its final stages at the Ursula Meyer Library & Community Center, located at 1461 Morada Lane next to McNair High School. This long-awaited project, designed by the award-winning architectural firm Arch Nexus, is on track for completion by the end of 2025.

But this isn’t just another building. It’s a vibrant, multi-purpose facility shaped by the community. In 2019, residents of all ages, children, teens, adults, and seniors, shared their ideas through a series of public meetings. Their feedback helped guide elements of the design, resulting in a space that reflects the ambitions of Northeast Stockton residents.

Once completed, the Ursula Meyer Library & Community Center will include:

 A modern library with inviting reading areas

 A full-size gymnasium and exterior sports courts for basketball and pickleball

 A rock-climbing wall

 A makerspace with sewing machines and hands-on tools

 Flexible meeting rooms

 Indoor program space, outdoor fitness equipment, and playground

 Outside gathering areas for community events and everyday connection

Designed to achieve LEED Silver certification, the facility emphasizes sustainability, with abundant natural light, eco-friendly materials, and a seamless indoor/outdoor experience.

HONORING URSULA MEYER

The facility is named in honor of Ursula Meyer, a tireless advocate for public libraries and lifelong learning. Through her professional work and volunteer service, Ms. Meyer dedicated her life to expanding access to books, technology, and welcoming spaces where everyone, especially young people, could read, explore, and imagine new possibilities. Her legacy lives on in this facility and in the spirit of opportunity it represents.

Get ready to explore, play, learn, and connect—coming Winter 2025!

The Ursula Meyer Library & Community Center is made possible through Measure M – Strong Communities, a special sales tax approved by Stockton voters in 2016 to support local library and recreation services. This dedicated funding source ensures that investments like this directly benefit neighborhoods by expanding access to safe spaces, STEM education, cultural and sports programming, and more. Measure M funds are restricted to be used only for the City of Stockton library and recreation programs, services, and facilities.
