Sheep

By Ashton Platt 6th Grade – Mrs. Hess Sheep, the white fluffy cuties, They don't have cooties. No, it's not just Billy, They are all quite silly. And at the end of the day, they pile up in the hay. But, when it is time for bed, you count them in your head. For when you awake, You make the earth shake. You are off to the field. But then you are to yield, For the cattle have stir; Life is but a blur. But, you are safe now; The farmer saves the day. How now brown cow, You count no sheep today for you are tucked away

My Best Friend By Eli Bagby 6th Grade – Mrs. Hess

Hey, my name is Eli Bagby, and today, or whenever you're reading this, I'll be talking about my best friend named Ethan Stines. Ethan and I have been friends since we were 3 years old, no joke. A little about Ethan is that he is 5'5" or 5'6", and he was born January 26, 2005. Ethan is kind; he always helped me when I was down. We have been in the same class since young fives until third grade and I moved schools to Patterson. Oh yeah, by the way, I didn't get to choose to move. After 2 years, Ethan and I got to hang out all the time. Every fall Friday, after the high school had a football game, I would go over to his house. Now we play Xbox together. We also hang out a lot during school. We played baseball together and against each other. Those were my favorite memories of being friends with him. One time, I got to play on his travel ball team, and it was so fun. That is my story about my best friend.

Detective Perry and the Feather Theft By Michael Root 6th Grade – Mrs. Hess

There once was a detective named Perry the Parakeet. He was a great detective who solved lots of cases and put lots of bad guys in the cage. One day, detective Perry's sister's, friend's, brother's, aunt's, son's, wife's cousin came to detective Perry saying that somebody had stolen three of his feathers! Now, detective Perry knew that feather theft was a serious crime worthy of five years in the cage. When detective Perry arrived, he noticed a strange blue feather by the entrance to the nest. Detective Perry knew that only two birds in Parrotsvile had blue feathers, Detective Perry and Katy Parrot! When detective Perry arrived at Katy Parrots nest, he found her grooming her strikingly blue feathers. Detective Perry arrested Katy Parrot and she was found guilty in a court of caw.

My Dream Job By Lilian Behm 6th Grade – Mrs. Gentry

When I grow up, I want to be an aide for kids with disabilities. I think I am wonderful for that job because my younger brother has autism. I love working with kids with disabilities. I think this job would be fun but also kind of challenging. The fun part would be that I would get to teach them new things. The challenging part would be that they might not understand a lot of things that I am saying. But most of the time, I think it would be fun. That is my dream job!

Be nice. Be kind. These are all things we hear every day. Yes, it is good to be kind, but I'm here to tell you at times it's all right to be mean. This goes for everyone, just not parents. Don't let other people push you around. Don't let other people pick your choices; it's your life. There is a thing that a lot of people do such as being too nice. I used to do this and now I'm sorry. I hope this taught you something about being nice but not too nice.

Once upon a time there was a fisherman. He loved going fishing and he always went fishing on his dock in his backyard. One day, he wanted to go to a fishing tournament, so he bought a fishing license online and was told it would arrive Thursday. Unfortunately, the trip was Wednesday. The fisherman panicked and was worried he was going to miss the trip. He got in his car and drove to Bass Pro Shop to get his license. Halfway there, he ran out of gas on the highway, so he called a tow truck to pick him up. Once he got gas, he made it to Bass Pro Shop. He walked inside and went to the fishing area. Once he bought his license, he drove home to make lunch. Once home, he ate lunch and said to himself, "I can do better than this." So he went to Cabelas and, while at Cabelas, he bought a boat. This time he was ready! It was Wednesday. He went to Bass Pro Shop where they said they would meet for the bus. Once the bus arrived, he got on. One hour later, he finally made it to his destination. Then, when the tournament ended, he got 2nd place. When he got home, he went down to his lake. He stared at the water and smiled.

My Life with Tecumseh Crush Softball By Allison Feuerbacher 6th Grade – Mrs. Hess

My life with Tecumseh Crush Softball is so awesome! I love softball so much. I have been playing softball for a long time - since T-ball. I am so thankful for my coaches and, especially, my dad for being able to go to the fields and outside to practice my pitching and hitting skills. My awesome coaches for Tecumseh Crush Softball are Kevin Whelan and Ryan Jousipitaz. My coach for little league is Mr. Creeger. I am playing little league this year, too, just like I always used to do. My coach last year for my Tecumseh Crush IOU Softball Team was Ryan Moorhead, and last year we went to state. I am so glad to have all my coaches. If it wasn't for them and my dad, I wouldn't be where I am at right now! I really want to thank my coaches for being such very, very, great, awesome role models! I also want to thank my dad for showing me the correct way to do things when I mess up. The position I usually play for softball is pitcher most of the time and sometimes first base and barely outfield. If you don't play softball and you would like to, you should do it! It is really fun. And just remember, attitude and grades matter. And you should always respect your teammates, your coaches, and, especially, your parents!

Fancy Squid By Miriam Rick 6th Grade – Mrs. Hess

Here is a quick story about a squid. Enjoy! One stormy day, a rich man and his wife were out on their boat. His wife went swimming while the rich man was fishing. While he was fishing, he saw a beautiful mermaid on a large rock. "Hello there!" The rich man said. "Hey! Come here," replied the mermaid "Okay!" The mermaid then jumped into the water and swam around. "Come on in, it's pretty warm!" she said. "Okay, just wait a minute while I get my bathing suit on!" But before he could do that, his boat crashed into the rock the mermaid was on before. He and his boat sunk to the bottom of the ocean, and he was never heard from again. One day, a squid came across his body and said, "Oh, poor fellow, you deserve better!" He then took the rich man's suit, monocle, and top hat off on him. "Oh boy! Am I gonna be fancy!" he thought. One of the squids friends came by and said, "Man, you're lookin' fancy!" And from that day forward, he was known as "Fancy Squid".

When I Met A Unicorn! By Natalie Hoeft 6th Grade – Mrs. Hess

One time I saw a unicorn! It had a rainbow mane and a rainbow tail. This unicorn lived in a magical place called Unicornia. In Unicornia, there are over 1500 unicorns. There are so many fun things to do there like you can eat rainbow cupcakes, you can dance on rainbows, and so much more. This unicorn, out of all the other 1500 unicorns, was the only one that could fly. So this unicorn came to me and offered to take me to Unicornia!!! I said yes, and the unicorn took me to Unicornia. When I saw Unicornia, I passed out! We walked around for about an hour and a half, and I got a great tour. I got to eat rainbow cupcakes and I got to drink cupcake flavored soda. It wasn't the best drink, but it was very good. Soon I had to go home because my mom called me home. I asked if I could come back sometime and she said yes. Then the unicorn just disappeared into thin air. Just kidding! She flew away!

This is the story of my friends and my "friends." This story begins in the year 2009, when I was in preschool. I've had a good life, a whole family, and a single friend. My friend's name was Katy. We played together a lot. In our classroom, the only other person was Zavior, he didn't like to play with us. Life was this way until Haley, the new girl, arrived. She and Katy started to play with each other and not me. After that, I didn't even have a single friend. I then only had my imaginary friends to play with. The following summer, my family moved to Tecumseh. I didn't want new friends; I didn't want to be left behind by anyone, again. Destiny and fate had already decided something else though, and, as luck would have it, on the first day of school I had made a friend. This friend's name was Rita. If we hadn't become friends, then I would have never opened up to the world and wouldn't have met any of the amazing people I know today. The moral of the story is to always make new friends, even if they aren't the right friends, at that moment you just trust your instincts. I thank my friends for worming into my life and making me a friendly person. Thank you for reading my story, and on that note, I conclude my tale.
