NAU

The highlight of 3daysofdesign for me was launching NAU in Europe for the very first time. Showing at Galerie Mikael Andersen in Copenhagen marked a major milestone for the brand.

Copenhagen felt like the perfect fit for NAU: a city where design, craft and creativity are part of everyday life. 3daysofdesign gave us the ideal platform to introduce Australian design to a new audience, connect with the global design community, and proudly share our story on the international stage.

Fritz Hansen

A real highlight for me was the launch of the Fritz Hansen PK3 chair. Seeing this unreleased Poul Kjærholm design brought to life was incredible, a perfect blend of heritage and modern relevance. Experiencing it in person was a powerful reminder of the timelessness and detail that define great design!

Gubi

I’ve always admired the timeless elegance of Italian design, so seeing Gubi’s tribute to it was incredibly moving. Discovering that Tobia Scarpa, at 90 years old, personally oversaw the relaunch of the Elogio modular sofa at Gubi’s factory was nothing short of inspiring. The result is extraordinary, full of sculptural grace and comfort. I was equally excited to see the reintroduction of Carlo De Carli’s iconic Poltrona Tria and Tavolo a Dischi, which brought a refined, architectural energy to the collection. It felt like a beautiful bridge between past and present.

HAY

One of my standout moments from 3daysofdesign was seeing the reissue of the Amanta sofa by Mario Bellini at HAY House.

There was something really special about seeing such an iconic piece brought back to life. It felt both nostalgic and totally relevant. The styling was beautiful, and it reminded me why I love design that bridges eras so effortlessly. It was a special moment in a very busy week that really stuck with me.

PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED

The merger with Eva Solo brought their entire collection under the PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED brand - a much-needed and exciting expansion of the range.

There are too many great pieces to list, but a few standouts for me were the Dosina Chairs, Carry TV Stand (in that beautiful Cedar Green!), Emendo Lamp with wireless charging, Savoye Coffee Tables, and the Radiant Lamps. We’re already planning a major refresh of our PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED display in the Singapore showroom, and these new additions will definitely be making their way there soon!

Carl Hansen & Søn

Our time at this year’s 3daysofdesign was incredibly inspiring. A personal highlight was visiting the Carl Hansen & Søn factory and seeing the craftsmanship behind each piece firsthand. Their commitment to timeless design and quality was clear throughout.

The new product launches struck a perfect balance of tradition and modernity, and the unveiling of their elegant new showroom was another standout, beautifully presenting their evolving collection in an immersive setting.

Our team scoured the most exciting and unique activations during 3daysofdesign to bring you the latest and most innovative design trends that will shape the industry in the coming years. Explore now and stay ahead of the curve >

Comfort-First Sofas: Sculptural, Soft, and Inviting

This year’s sofas embraced comfort as a design statement. The focus shifted toward plush, sculptural forms that invite relaxation and emotional connection. These pieces balance aesthetic presence with tactile appeal, often working as standalone icons or flexible arrangements.

Bold Colours: Confident Palettes Across Surfaces

This year’s design direction embraced bold, expressive colours across all categories: not just in textiles, but also in finishes, lighting, accessories, and surfaces. Designers moved beyond the neutral palette, using colour as a tool for emotion, identity, and spatial storytelling. These hues weren’t just decorative; they were deliberate, architectural, and mood-setting.

Sustainable Innovation: Design for Longevity and Circularity

Sustainability is firmly rooted in this year’s design ethos, not only in materials but also in construction, lifecycle planning, and circularity. Brands are challenging norms with biogenic materials, modular designs, and waste-to-resource innovations.

Italian Influence: Mediterranean Warmth Meets Nordic Precision

A strong Italian design influence emerged, blending Nordic restraint with Mediterranean sensuality. This was seen in both form and collaboration, with a focus on curves, craftsmanship, and expressive materials.

THE LIVING ARCHIVE – an invitation to step back and slow down, offering a take on a library not bound by structure and silence, but open, sensory, and alive. Alongside new collections, &Tradition celebrated their community across three locations: the &Tradition showroom, the Lille Petra café, and the newly appointed Petra hotel.

Welcoming guests to stay a while, the Lille Petra café extended &Tradition’s Quarter Past Noon initiative, founded on community and a shared philosophy of living well by design. Featuring a seasonal menu centred on regenerative farming and curated by chef Søren Westh, the café provided a space for visitors to start their day, enjoy a leisurely lunch, or simply pause for a moment of calm amidst the buzz of the week.

– For 153 years, Fritz Hansen has been at the forefront of Danish design, shaping its evolution through craftsmanship and innovation to create some of the world’s most enduring icons. During 3daysofdesign, the Copenhagen Flagship Store explored how ongoing dialogues between heritage and innovation, and between designer and manufacturer, remained foundational in shaping lasting design.

In addition, a pop-up restaurant at Orangeriet in the King’s Garden invited guests to experience Fritz Hansen’s hospitality universe across both indoor and outdoor settings. Throughout the spaces, visitors discovered the materials, techniques, and principles that defined the brand’s approach - designs made to be cherished, repaired, and passed down through generations.
