NAU

The highlight of 3daysofdesign for me was launching NAU in Europe for the very first time. Showing at Galerie Mikael Andersen in Copenhagen marked a major milestone for the brand.
Copenhagen felt like the perfect fit for NAU: a city where design, craft and creativity are part of everyday life. 3daysofdesign gave us the ideal platform to introduce Australian design to a new audience, connect with the global design community, and proudly share our story on the international stage.
String
Ron Sim, Commercial Sales
String’s presentation was a standout in colour and styling.The new Pocket shelves popped against a dark backdrop, with each colour named after a beloved Stockholm location. The launch of the bold new Center Center modular system in Ultramarine blue was another highlight — definitely one to watch for our Singapore showroom.
From Pira G2 to String System and now Center Center, the entire display was beautifully styled with playful props, sculptural lighting, and Mutina bricks — a true source of inspiration.
Gubi

I’ve always admired the timeless elegance of Italian design, so seeing Gubi’s tribute to it was incredibly moving. Discovering that Tobia Scarpa, at 90 years old, personally oversaw the relaunch of the Elogio modular sofa at Gubi’s factory was nothing short of inspiring. The result is extraordinary, full of sculptural grace and comfort. I was equally excited to see the reintroduction of Carlo De Carli’s iconic Poltrona Tria and Tavolo a Dischi, which brought a refined, architectural energy to the collection. It felt like a beautiful bridge between past and present.

Bold Colours: Confident Palettes Across Surfaces
This year’s design direction embraced bold, expressive colours across all categories: not just in textiles, but also in finishes, lighting, accessories, and surfaces. Designers moved beyond the neutral palette, using colour as a tool for emotion, identity, and spatial storytelling. These hues weren’t just decorative; they were deliberate, architectural, and mood-setting.

Sustainable Innovation: Design for Longevity and Circularity
Sustainability is firmly rooted in this year’s design ethos, not only in materials but also in construction, lifecycle planning, and circularity. Brands are challenging norms with biogenic materials, modular designs, and waste-to-resource innovations.

A strong Italian design influence emerged, blending Nordic restraint with Mediterranean sensuality. This was seen in both form and collaboration, with a focus on curves, craftsmanship, and expressive materials.

CULT BRANDS
THE LIVING ARCHIVE – an invitation to step back and slow down, offering a take on a library not bound by structure and silence, but open, sensory, and alive. Alongside new collections, &Tradition celebrated their community across three locations: the &Tradition showroom, the Lille Petra café, and the newly appointed Petra hotel.
Welcoming guests to stay a while, the Lille Petra café extended &Tradition’s Quarter Past Noon initiative, founded on community and a shared philosophy of living well by design. Featuring a seasonal menu centred on regenerative farming and curated by chef Søren Westh, the café provided a space for visitors to start their day, enjoy a leisurely lunch, or simply pause for a moment of calm amidst the buzz of the week.

INTERSECTIONS – The exhibition reflected on how design shaped the way people worked, lived, and connected, blending beauty with purpose, tradition with innovation, and the personal with the collective. Intersections explored these connections, where objects and furniture influenced daily rituals and materials paved the way forward, demonstrating how thoughtful design enhanced everyday life.
Guests were welcomed into the Fredericia showroom, where iconic mid-century design met contemporary innovation. The exhibition featured a curated collection of finely crafted furniture by renowned designers, including Mogens Koch, Barber Osgerby, Jasper Morrison, Hugo Passos, Nanna Ditzel, Kaare Klint, and Børge Mogensen.

FROM LENS TO LIFE – Renowned maestro Michele De Lucchi debuted his modern take on rattan for GUBI, while the legendary Carlo De Carli’s timeless masterpieces returned to the spotlight. Together, their visionary designs embodied GUBI’s philosophy of merging the brilliance of design history with the thrill of the present. This experience also unveiled GUBI’s full vision for 2025 , a journey that had only just begun.

HAY showcased their latest launches, along with previews of upcoming collections and inspiring spaces, at their flagship store and showroom, HAY House, in the heart of Copenhagen. Among the highlights were a new tableware collection created in collaboration with internationally recognised American artist Emma Kohlmann, and the reissue of an iconic piece of Italian design history - both set to launch in September.

nanimarquina showcased their latest 2025 collections during 3daysofdesign at the PAST FORWARD exhibition curated by Tadaima. The exhibition explored the dialogue between tradition and modernity, bringing together objects shaped by heritage techniques and contemporary craftsmanship - where function met form, and small-scale makers stood alongside established brands. Sculptural and functional, minimal and expressive, large and small scale - all coexisted in a carefully curated balance. The exhibition highlighted how design evolved by honouring its origins while embracing new expressions, bridging past and present to shape the future.

Nemo Lighting returned to 3daysofdesign, reaffirming its ongoing dialogue with the Nordic design scene - a community that shared its values of quality, functionality, and innovation.
Fresh from Milan Design Week, Nemo presented a curated installation that blended design excellence, refined aesthetics, and contemporary vision. On display, the Lorosae Table Lamp from the Masters collection embodied the brand’s conversation with architectural heritage and celebrated design masters such as Álvaro Siza, one of the most influential figures in Portuguese architecture. From the Contemporary collection, the Portofino portable lamp in its new gold finish represented a new generation of design, combining versatility, elegance, and advanced technology.

Swedish design company String Furniture exhibited at FRAMING in the Annex, showcasing the modernist classic String from 1949 in a new Dark Grey finish, alongside the ‘String Pocket Stockholm’ series inspired by the Swedish capital. The space was transformed into a ‘modern office’ setting, featuring the modular Centre Centre system by Form Us With Love, the classic Pira G2 from 1954, and Relief by TAF Studio.
