SHINE B RIGHT . Be Brilliant

.

There’s nothing like the feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be, surrounded by a faith-filled community that loves you and encourages you to embrace who you are.

At Cor Jesu, every student is welcomed and celebrated for who she is on her first day and who she’ll be on her last.

We empower bright students to recognize and use their gifts, so they become brilliant women who are compelled to Share the Love of the Heart of Christ wherever they go.

Cor Jesu Academy!

LovingLove is our legacy. Since 1956, every student has learned the importance of embracing and Sharing the Love of the Heart of Christ.

Our Catholic faith runs through every element of the student experience at Cor Jesu. Rooted in the same charism and loving spirit as the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Cor Jesu welcomes everyone, of any faith tradition, to experience, accept and share God’s love.

“At Cor Jesu Academy, we truly get to know our students and accompany them through their four years with us. We provide an authentically Catholic education, one true to the teachings of Jesus Christ. All are welcome here – those who share our faith and those new to its traditions. Leading by example, our faculty and staff guide our students to realize their whole potential and to understand who God made each of them to be.

Encouraging

We celebrate successes, applaud efforts and embrace setbacks, all of which contribute to the high school experience.

At Cor Jesu, the bonds of sisterhood run deep. Cor Jesu girls root for each other’s success as they strive for their own. In the classroom, on the field or stage, and in professional endeavors, our community is cheering our students on every step of the way.

Supported in the Classroom

One of the most important facets of teaching is understanding and cultivating each student’s learning style. Cor Jesu has a Student Learning Center where specialists work one-on-one with each student to identify her strengths and learning styles while incorporating both into her academic experience.

Career, College & Wellness Center (CCW)

From day one, Cor Jesu students are assigned two counselors to support their four years with us. A personal wellness counselor works with students as they discover and embrace their sense of self. Additionally, a college counselor guides students to the next step of their educational path by identifying colleges, scholarships and programs that fit their needs and ambitions.

New Resource!

CJA is partnering with Saint Louis Counseling to offer additional counseling services at no cost to students and families.

Corporate Partners Initiative

The moment she enters our halls, we begin preparing a Cor Jesu student for the moment she enters her career. During her Cor Jesu journey, each student explores her gifts and passions, and receives unique opportunities to discover and experience potential careers, beginning freshman year. Our one-of-a-kind Corporate Partners Initiative aligns students with diverse, hands-on experiences with the region’s top companies to foster career discovery, professional readiness and confidence well beyond a typical classroom experience.

Many of Christ’s virtues –understanding, generosity and compassion – are best taught outside the classroom. Across a variety of seasonal sports and co-curricular activities, Cor Jesu students discover new passions, form friendships and develop the integrity of dynamic, highachieving young women.

BalancedWe strive to develop dynamic women. We believe academics are important, but so are clubs, choirs, teams and friends.

Through a variety of visual and performing arts classes, clubs and other co-curricular opportunities, students receive educational experiences that focus not only on the process and product of each discipline, but also on the development of each student’s personal voice. Whether on the stage, at the canvas, or in the orchestra, our students are encouraged to embrace their talents and learn new skills, while also building a strong sense of community.

Giving

“Cor Jesu has taught me that service should not just be done out of obligation or the need to complete a requirement. Instead, service should be natural and purposeful. When looking for places and people to serve, I’ve learned that it is important to stay true to your values and find an organization that shares your goals and passions. When you find this type of service, then your work will be what service should be: from your heart.

HIBEY
